  1. Along with the favorite player character, what are your favorite characters in the games?

    – Alder: most sympathetic and fleshed out champion apart from Cynthia
    – Cynthia: ICONIC, enough said
    – N: awesome character overall
    – Bianca: I could relate to her relationships with her parents and she along with Cheren are the best companions EVER
    – Blue: the bad boy attitude and the way he grows to become a strong willed and understanding character is great
    – Karen: such an under-rated character who was underutilized and I love her deep talk

    • That combined with the fact that they actually did things outside of being simple gym leaders in the story, and that due to the lack of time needed of creating the game engine, they were able to focus more time into creating well crafted characters. Not necessarily good characters, but certainly ones with more effort then we usually see.

    • Their gym being places is actually part of their character. As you may recall every single gym leader in unova have a job or a hobby other than being a gym leader. Unlike XY who also try to do the same, BW used their hobbies or job as one of many why their personalities and character where like that. XY didnt take advantage of that.

    • I don’t think they’re better characters but I agree they have nicer gyms.

To be honest I only really like Elesa and Burrgh, and maybe Lenora. The triplets are mostly ok and Roxie looks kind of ok, but most of the others aren’t that interesting. Especially Drayden, Brycen, Clay and Skyla, they’re weird.

      • Honestly We don’t know if its based on Sun and moon, or time of day yet. Though realistically, its far more the latter. After all do you really think they would restrict entire pokemon forms based on the version of the game you have? Legends make a little sense since their on the covers, but they would never restrict a feature like this to the version your playing.

      • If there are different forms in the different games (which we still don’t know is the case, as far as we know both Rockruff forms will be available in both games and even if the starters have different forms it’s likely they will too), then there will be no shortage of people offering to evolve it in their game for you, I assure you.

    • Interesting theory, but you might be reaching a bit. You could just as easily argue that a archer who looks like a thief/assassin, a mermaid, and a dirty wrestler would be more associated with the moon and night then day.

        • We don’t know what the secret is for definate.

For a start Rockruff’s evolution is no longer a secret, he might have another secret that we don’t know about yet.
It might be that Rockruff and the starters are the only ones able to follow the player around or something.

Besides, my response was more about them finding supposed symbols on the character designs that indicate that they’re sun form and not moon form.

        • He did the short regeneration sequence for the anniversary special. And he’s been in lots of books and audiobooks.

I liked him too. I didn’t think the film was that bad, they just made the mistake of handing the rights over and giving the writers too much leeway, plus the directing made it awful and gloomy by making it all set at night and some of the camera techniques they used. That weird light/water dot effect in this meme included.

          • Yes I enjoyed that short regeneration scene. Made me want a series with him. I like a lot of his visual portrayal, for me that is a large part of each Regeneration, their personal style, mannerisms and quirks. Not that they don’t have these in other formats but it can be difficult to convey. I agree about the movie, though I forget a lot of it, I remember there being a lot of rain and lightning and the Master having weird eyes.

    • Yeah, I’m glad they didn’t make a meal of it.
I’m still not happy with the night form because of the front pawns, but it could be worse.
I don’t know why they’ve suddenly taken a liking to that awful style of paws both TonyTheTiger and MidnightRockruff have.

    • Pokemon Sun and Moon are probably going to be the most different and diverse games in terms of version differences and that just means more money for GameFreak! 😀

  2. Oh god I can’t wait to watch all of these. the Pokemon world both in game and anime seems so interesting and it’s always nice to see what other people in the world are up to lol

      • I’m still not sure they’ll show the Rockruff evo yet in an official capacity. CoroCoro doesn’t come out until the 15th and it’d make putting the evo in it meaningless if they showed it off before the magazine even hit shelves

        • Oh that is true. Hmm. I doubt we’ll get them then, especially because CC promised them a month ago, it’s kinda their reveal, not TPC’s.

          Reply
          • Yeah from what we’ve seen it seems CoroCoro has had different info every time they’ve shown stuff off. so whatever we get tomorrow, it’ll likely be brand new. I’d imagine we’ll get Cutiefly’s evo tho since CC never covered it and they showed it in the trailer last week.

          • Actually yes and no. Remember the August 12th info? They had Wishiwashi, Alolan Marowak, and Alolan Meowth, but kept back Pallosand line and Stufful. So maybe we’ll see the UBs, but not Weruff.

          • True, but the announcement that came out that revealed the first three came out after or technically the same day as CoroCoro came out. I wold imagine they wouldn’t have revealed them if the trailer was shown before the street date for CC

          • Only reason I’m in any way annoyed by it is because it’ll mean an increase in rule34 stuff when searching for art of it.

          • Furry is a bit hard to define, but it is commonly defined as a fandom centered around people who like anthropomorphic animal art and stuff similar to that.

Rule34 is the internet rule that says “IF it exists, there is porn of it”. Basically a way of saying porn

          • Thanks for explaining. I like anthropomorphised characters sometimes.
Each to their own, I can’t say I’ll be actively looking for anything Rule34 0_0

          • Furries are basically just people who like to draw anthropomorphic animals (more like werewolves than the white rabbit).

Rule 34 is the 34th rule of the internet: “there is porn of it, no exceptions”. Which basically means every character ends up being sexualised in art and has fetishes applied to them at some point or another.

          • Oh OK, thanks for explaining, each to their own I guess. I have mature content filter on most sites so I don’t really see such things.

          • Hi, yeah I’ve not been around much since the old forum closed. I only just worked up the courage to open an account here, I’m not great at socializing tbh :/

          • I did away with all filters.
I would rather decide myself if something is going to upset me than let a website decide for me.

If we let the website decide, it’s only a matter of time before we’re locked into a protective bubble where we never see anything that questions us or upsets us.

          • It’s an interesting concept that’s been worrying the technology community for a while. It’s called a ‘Filter Bubble’.

It basically means (for example) that if people support a certain political party and hate another, the search engine could end up filtering their results so they only see good stuff about the party they support and bad stuff about the other party, making them more biased and less skeptical.

There’s other implications too, there’s an interesting TED talk about it from 2011 and it’s why sites like DuckDuckGo (another search engine) were introduced.

          • I know news websites have political agendas, never thought about search engines. I guess I see worse in movies, I saw the adult animated comedy ‘Sausage Party’ recently and that didn’t quite manage to scar me XD .

    • Pharap i’m gonna rap with ya
right now a handful of artists are drawing Pokemon in seductive situations
it is something we must either avoid or accept
      its never going to stop

  3. My favorite drawing of any Pokemon ever! This was drawn when Sylveon was first introduced and it quickly became one of my favorite Pokemon ever alongside Roserade, Glameow, and Lopunny! This was more than 3 years ago and we were still guessing at Sylveon’s typing: Light, Fairy, and Flying-type! 😀 :3 Nostalgia kills!

  4. If Lockstin has 4 parts to his theory, then he’s cutting it close with the timing. I mean, part 3 isn’t even out yet, and he needs to get it in before SM or it becomes obsolete. Also I love watching his theories, but if none of what he said comes true, I’ll be kinda dissapointed.

  5. I came up with a (admittedly, far-fetched) theory earlier today. Since Corocoro comes out on the 15th, and the video announcement is on the 14th, maybe the character that UB-02 Expansion is based off of will be revealed tomorrow. That way, we would have theoretically gotten the UB revealed after the character, and it would’ve made more sense to us had Corocoro not leaked.

    Reply
    • Yeah I could see that. No matter what I only see new stuff being shown tomorrow (plus the Cutiefly evo) so if Expansion isn’t based on Gladion like many think it’d make sense for them to show whoever it is tomorrow. That way they technically reveal something new, but it’s also connected to something we just got. Or rather will get since CC wasn’t suppose to be out yet lol

      Reply
      • I don’t see the connection to Gladion either. UB-01 and UB-02 Beauty were very easy to compare to a human, and the fact that it took awhile for people to guess Gladion makes be think it’s NOT him. The only trait the really share are the black shoulder spikes and the color red.

        • Unless they’re going for a not so one to one comparison. Like maybe it’s more so he can really hide his true figure better than the other two. There are lots of characters in shows and games that when they first get shown are tiny and then when they go to fight they’re underestimated until they bulk up. I’ve said that the rip in Gladions shirt could be symbolism for his true form essentially ripping out of what I guess would be a skin sack……..? Uh…..well either way I’m sure get the point lol

  7. I had a great idea while playing the wind waker! I’m going to leave tingle bottles in various places that will tell a story of sorts. I think that’ll be neat!
