The next batch of fresh Pokémon Sun & Moon news has been confirmed for September 6th. As usual we’re expecting a new trailer detailing a bunch of new information.
Who knows what will be revealed, could it be the evolutions for the Starter Pokémon? More Legendary Pokémon? The secret behind Rockruff’s evolution?!

The Chinese leaker strikes again with being right about a Dark-Type Rattata. I cannot wait for September 6th. Also, I love the Pokemon specific Z-Moves. Alolan Raichu’s Stoked SparkSurfer and Snorlax’s Pulverizing Pancake. I swear Snorlax’s glare is perfect. Also, Alolan Raticate was confirmed on the official site (which is obvious) and here’s a screenshot of the start screen.

I’m already upset about the really crappy names they gave Raichu and Snorlax’s Z moves.
I looked at what they were in the original Japanese. “Lightning Surf Ride” and something along the lines of “It issues a serious attack” (can’t find a good enough translator to get anything better).
On the bright side, if those awful leaks turn out to be true, at least we can assume that ‘Ash Greninja’ will turn out to be a pokemon-specific Z-Move.
That wasn’t the Chinese leaker who said about the Ratatta, it was a different leaker.
So hopefully we starter evolutions, new Z-moves, and Alolan raticate which I hope is bit slender than the normal one. Also does any body think they’re trying to go for that old mobster or mafia look with the Alolan Ratata line? It would make sense considering the yungoose line.

What’s been truly confirmed now:
No gyms, dark Rattata, no Synchro, Oricorio.
That’s not much compared to what it predicted. Plus, the dark Rattata isn’t even dark, but dark/normal. The only prediction it made that I find interesting is Oricorio.
He also predicted Ninetales (fire/fairy) and Gumshoos (fat and hairy) wrong.

“Not much” you don’t accidentally get that stuff correct. Leakers put slightly incorrect info in all the time. One of wbich being Ninetails’ typing. And Gumshoos is most certainly hairy, and it’s quite a bit plump, that’s not changing many minds.
Wouldn’t mind too much as most of that info is interesting/pretty harmless. Except the clusterf*ck that VC pokémon with old typings and stats would be. Please no. Soft retcon and move on, that’s how pokémon has always rolled.

honestly the list of alolan forms only got one right (barely since missing the normal type) it could still be fake as a dark type rattata is alot more likely then other types it could of gotten

It got it down as Fire/Fairy, when it was actually Ice/Fairy. Same really with Alolan Rattata and future Alolan Raticate. Got the first type of Dark right but missed out on the Normal type.
So it has some accuracy to it. Plus it predicted the no gyms thing.
I think the mistakes it has is just to cover its tracks.

Don’t usually like leaks but imma be greedy this time and hope for some.
As for today’s news, I expected more but that’s coming on the 6th, so a decent batch I guess. Alolan ratata is dark type as rumours speculated, and happens to be the reason for Yungoos being brought in as IRL, which I like many others thought would be the case if indeed dark ratata materialised. That’s cool. Not sure how I feel about pokémon-specific Z-moves (basically just more contrived signature moves, which pretty much covered the concept, so there goes my praise for this idea being interesting), and how we get yet another different set of specific stones to complicate things.
As for the more broad Ninty stuff, the ports are cool for 3DS owners who don’t have a wii u I guess, but to me that’s just content I won’t get for buying the better version. Pikmin 3DS is an interesting idea, and that mario sports game is puzzling because it just seems like an underwhelming collection of 5 watered down mario sports games. Where the next mario strikers game at? Eh, at least they announced cool amiibos and some nice stuff for Zelda’s 30th.

Love the concept, not too enamoured with the execution (mainly because I would have designed it differently). I wanted a newt with a silly wide newt head, not a lizard with a garbage bag/balaclava crocodile head . Still, the design is still well thought out (especially the fire-gland on the tail and it’s cool shape), and having a new salamander is better than nothing, so still quite fond of it!

I’ve playing HeartGold recently and I’ll play at night after work usually. So when I played during the day for the first time, I was like “that Pokemon is in this game?”
Yeah I liked that a lot! I do wonder though, it seems like Sun and Moon will have a different way of telling time. According to the leaks we got the games sense of day and night depend on the version. I wonder if that’s true. And if it is, I wonder how it’ll be implemented. I got the feeling it would be similar to GTA or Xenoblade style of telling time.
Gen 4 brought it back. And it looks like with Gen 2’s 20th and Gen 4’s 10th, Day and Night will come again in Gen 7

I just watched the direct. Their strategy: the wii u failed, so let’s port our games onto the 3ds! xD Ok, really though, if that mario sports game is polished, it looks to be a really good game. Also I’m not sure if I like sidescrolling pikmin, the fun of the series for me was never about the action, it was about the strategy and exploration, not to mention the time limit (day limit?) which I thought added the adventure and urgency to the games, which made me care more. I guess I’ll know how to feel when more gets revealed. Also did anyone else notice the music during the sun and moon segment? I’m calling it here, that’s the theme that’ll play during the set up (where you choose gender, name, “welcome to the world of pokemon”, etc.). Overall a solid direct IMO.
I could not be happier about Pikmin, since I love the environments and music of the series but hate strategy gameplay. This was my favorite announcement by far.

Stoked Sparksurfer is probably the DUMBEST name for something Gamefreak has ever created, and may ever create. Also, Z-moves seem OP as hell and that makes me hesitant to like them.
Remember though we saw Pikachu use the normal z-move on a rowlet. Assuming that ev and iv’s are as low as allowable in the game, the pikachu did only about 70% to the Rowlet. Their clearly strong moves, but it seems that their only OHKO’s if their super effective.
That still seems troubling though..like a free OHKO just cause it’s super effective seems extremely broken. I also think that a pokemon should only be able to use Z-moves that correspond to their type.
Well then Protect’s about to see a lot more use in the Meta. Really if you can just protect the move or you switch in to a pokemon that can body the move, your golden.
But that’s only if you can predict it. Also we’re going to see the same strategies used over again with protect and such.

Sure, pre-ordering for something like pokemon is probably safer than most other AAA games, but there is always that possibility of a terrible day one bug or glitch that makes it unplayable or something like that

Personally the only games I’ve ever pre ordered were Pokemon Y and OmegaRuby.

Because I only get like 3ish video games a year and I only get ranging from Pokemon, Yo-Kai watch (since last year), and Kirby so I don’t have to fear sell out stores I put $5 down to assure myself I don’t lose my games and have to wait
But if you only get 3 games a year, why can’t you wait? It isn’t like you’re rushing to play it to move on the the next game in line. You probably wont have to wait longer than a week to get it if it’s sold out. I mean, it’s your money, do what ever with it, but I really dont think it’s wise to pre order in any situation

It’s the evolutions of the starter evolutions that leaked. We have no idea what the middle ones look like.
The middle stage always offers a glimpse towards the final stage, so one can never be sure. At this point, I believe the leaks are 100% true considering the Mallow find and whatnot.

I’m not going to lie, I’m seriously enjoying Z-Moves right now. At least everyone knows that Z-Crystals are hold items your Pokemon must hold to use Z-Moves. So, if Megas do return, they will not be able to use Z-Moves; except Mega Rayquaza. I absolutely love the Ghost and Fighting Type Z-Moves. The Ghost Z-Move animation is just perfect! Also, the Fighting Type one is just a Hyper Close Combat. Lastly, I think the “secret” CoroCoro said Rowlet, Litten, Poppilo, and Rockruff have will have to with custom Z-Moves to them. It currently makes the most sense, but I guess we’ll see on September 6th. Here’s to hoping for starter evos!

Z-moves don’t really excite me that much, it’s something that will be more apparent when we start actually playing the game, so they don’t really need to reveal too much about them in terms of the different names e.t.c

The upcoming anime episode titles for XY&Z have not been released and usually, we always know two episodes in advance in terms of titles, but we’re already at EP 41 and we don’t know the titles OR have any clues as to what the future entails (usually we get a summary from a magazine) for Episodes 42, 43, and 44 which seem to conclude the Team Flare Arc. This has never happened in the history of the anime.
It could potentially be due to them wanting to hide major plot devices that fans may be able to pick out such as a death (VERY possible from where things are going), Lysandre’s Plan B, or Perfect Zygarde/Sun and Moon promotion beginning.
You’re a bit off there. We usually know titles a month in advance (four to five episodes), not two episodes in advance. The rest of what you’ve said makes sense. As I said yesterday, they’re probably waiting for the official reveal of Synchro on the 6th. I thought it would be last night, but clearly I was wrong.
So what do we think about Mega Evolution. In or not in at this point? Personally, I don’t know what to think but I hope it is in the game (it would be a shame if something that impacted the game so much got scrapped).

At this point, Mega-evolution has become such a staple for not only the meta and pro scenes, but have been integrated into the vast lore of Pokemon so well, I fail to recognize why people are still in denial over its implementation in Sun/Moon. Just my two cents.

We’ve talked about this plenty of times, obviously opinions differ. I think Mega Evolution is back in the game. From the Chinese Leaker’s leaks, I expect Zinnia to give you a Key Stone maybe in the post game. Yet again, the Z-Ring does have a circular hole at the bottom. So, it might be returning yet again. I just hope we get a few new Megas, but I would be fine without any new ones.

okay the last few pokemon news things I have not expected much due to the fact the 1st August Reveal Trailer was pretty BIG, that it made sense to slow things down.
The past few teasers and trailers I haven’t expected much (though the fan community definately have, lots thought today’s Nintendo Direct was gonna reveal starter evolutions lolol)
SO now I am expecting 6th September trailer to be pretty big! Some things that I can imagine would be
– Starter Middle Evolutions (but I’m sure there was a series where the Finals were revealed and Middles weren’t found until the games release)
OR
– A ‘fan favourite’ Pokémon Alola form, Rattata is cool and all but like with Raichu and Vulpix that was BIG news! So have a feeling someone like Jigglypuff will be revealed to an Alola form since they are appealing to Kanto and Jiggly was really popular back then. I’d also like a Clefairy alola form could be cool with the Moon theme.

– Mega’s are back trailer (please just because there has been no mention of them doesn’t mean anything, they are back for sure they can’t reveal everything at once and need hype)

Honestly I do fully believe megas are in the game(it makes no sense to think they would remove them) but I imagine if they show them off in a trailer, it’ll be the last trailer we get, and their probably won’t be many. Mostly because they need to be careful that they don’t fall into the trap that mega’s create, and thanks to Alolan forms, their far less appealing to try to make old pokemon better.

I’m fairly certain they’ll go the more easy-going, peaceful road considering BW was a ratings juggernaut UNTIL the island fillers which brought the anime spiraling down. Honestly, these days, XY is lucky to get into the 3’s when during the BW days it consistently got as high as 8’s, 9’s, and 10’s.
Surprisingly, the Alain VS Ash Finale failed to chart in the Top 12 highest rated television programs of the week and considering the episode before was at a 2, one can estimate the number to be in the mid 1’s… which is vwry alarming.
Because people expect Ash to lose, they didn’t bother…
That, or there’s coincidentally 13 more interesting shows that week.

And Kalos is kinda on par with the Sinnoh anime cause he evolves all but two and one is way too powerful for Ash’s standards

I think Manon’s Chespin will die, Alain will defeat Lysandre, and Bonnie will return Puni-chan to normal. But, Lysandre will activate his Plan B which uses the giant mega-stone they took during the Mega Evolution Arc to power the Ultimate Weapon and then Ash’ll be the one to destroy the Ultimate Weapon with the help of Steven, Diantha, the rivals, his friends, and the gym leaders.

I got a wild Flareon yesterday. 260 CP only though, but it saves me the need to evo to Flareon for dex. I can just use the candies on Jolteon.
I’ve recently been having better luck on my own. When I caught my first rare, Scyther, My brother was there. The Kingler was the start of Good Luck for me + I was with a friend when I caught Dratini today.

I wonder how far do they go though? I would think they’ll get geobanned if they teleport too far…
I saw someone using pokeradar (or a similar service) on the street though. I’d punch ’em if I was Earthen, which I’m not…
They can choose to teleport, or ‘drive’ there (basically slowly move their guy to the location) both are easy to spot, and both get your account perma banned

My team for tournament plan is complete no hints all I need is to breed them then Battle train them to 50’s then wait one we all hated from one of our own annoying gyms
So when Sun & Moon come out, there’s some things about regional variants we need to test:
* Mons whose pre-evo don’t have Alola forms: bring Cubone/Pikachu/Exeggcute from elsewhere, evolve it, and see if it evolves into the regular form, or into the Alola form.
* Mons whose entire evo line have Alola forms: bring (regular) Vulpix/Sandshrew from elsewhere, evolve it, and see if it evolves into the regular form, or into the Alola form.
* Mons in eggs: Import a Vulpix/Sandshrew/Rattata egg, hatch it. (But hold it! This assumes you can trade between copies of XYORAS and SM, since you can’t place eggs in Bank.)
I highly doubt we’ll be able to trade from Gen 6 to Gen 7 games.

Ok so here’s an interesting thing. Earlier today I saw someone, I don’t remember who, point out that the Japanese trailer and English trailer show different footage for when Solgaleo and Lunala show up. In the background the statues are different. I wonder if this is just them tweaking the designs or if there is a significant reason behind the difference.
Could be that they are encountered multiple times in the storyline, so they are seen in different places; or they just fixed up the statues in between versions of the game.
Hard to say, but the place in general that’s shown seems like the same so it is kind of a mystery. If they did change it for a reason, I wonder what that reason is.
Probably just a level redesign from earlier builds to later versions, I guess?
Unless this is like HGSS, and there’s different cutscenes for the story legendary encounter, and the non-story postgame legendary encounter.

Looking very closely, I can see Lunala’s area in the JP screenshot has the Moon logo on the statues, while in another shot, Solgaleo can be seen near statues with the Sun logo, and vice versa.
If, for example, you were to encounter Solgaleo in Sun, you will see the Sun logo statues. But if you encounter him in Moon, you will not see the statues at all, even though the location may be the same.

Mega evolution is quite a big mechanic to ignore. I honestly don’t think they are scrapped. The way I see it is that they are promoting ‘new’ signature mechanical elements to promote sun and moon, such as Z- moves and Alolan forms.
The way I see it is, ONLY kanto Pokemon receiving Alolan forms while a few Pokemon from Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova and Kalos receive mega evolutions.
I hope it is the starters evolutions
