8/12 New Pokémon Sun & Moon Trailers

The trailer for Pokémon Sun & Moon has been released early (which made me pause Nathan for You) and contains information we saw from the leaks earlier today! Here’s a recap:

  • Team Skull is revealed along with its leader Guzma and Admin Plumeria
  • New Pokémon Wishiwashi and Pyukumuku are shown in battle, both with interesting animations (Innards Out, which does damage based on Pyukumuku’s health before the final blow that KOs it!)
  • The trailer reveals one brand-new Pokémon Morelull
  • We finally see Alolan Meowth, Raichu & Marowak in action. It is heavily implied Pikachu & Cubone do not have Alola forms

  1. Aside from the Gen 1 bias and the Corocoro exclusive leaks I’m liking this trailer. And Guzmo is honestly kinda hot. Not like OH DADDY but in a like, bad boy kinda way I guess?

  2. Guys!!!! I’ve notice that for the alola forms. Each one appears either on the sun or moon background so those will be version exclusives for sure. I just notice that!!

  3. I dunno about you guys, I’m really loving Team Skull’s themes <3 It just fits their personality so far
And I amlate to the party, so excuse me if you guys already know this, but it's definitely the encounter theme in the English trailer and the battle theme in the Japanese one. And I actually like the encounter theme slightly more for some reason xD

        • I mean, I don’t care for rap/hip hop, but I can’t deny that it really fits with Team Skull’s personality, and its actually pretty nice 🙂

          • I never much cared if words were in it, so long as it fit. All the tracks with words make sense with the feel of the place/event.
Roxie was in a band, so it made sense that they would have words/lyrics to their songs, it would be weird if they didn’t
Elesa’s gym was a runway, so it made sense to have the pump up music and female vocals
and this theme just screams Skull to me.
I just don’t want the words thing to be abused and unnecessary, but I understand it’s all in personal taste :3

      • It’ll be all the more reason to enjoy pounding the crap out of them.

Being an evil team that causes trouble for everyone is one thing, but listening to such awful ‘music’ is unforgiveable 😛

  4. Disappointed by no Alolan Cubone, like many others I think GF are being too loose on biological logic with these forms (yes I know, typical game freak, they do what the want, but honestly it’s nicer when it makes sense). What’s especially grating is the poor justification behind the ghost typing, which could have been done so much better than that social attunement sixth sense bullshit, especially taking into account a certain gen I cubone’s backstory, and the confusion over wether that applies to all cubones… Would it have been that difficult to include shamanism or marowak graveyards in the description?
I mean they could at least have put something along the lines of “Alolan Marowak only gain advantage over their predators upon evolution, and as such must actively protect their vulnerable cubone offspring “, to justify this.

And Alolan Raichu’s description is just taking the piss. It’s not even funny, it’s just bad.

And these forms started out so well too… I hope GF step it up with the biology here, the idea of regional variants is great but they’re applying it like a poorly conceived fan concept.

Eh, at least design wise they’re not bad.

      • The Japanese trailer strongly suggests there’s no Alolan Cubone, but sure, it’s not 100% deconfirmation. Very unlikely though :/

  5. Something I’ve noticed is that in all the trailers, they’ve never finished an evolution segment. This may just be because it’s too long, but they always cut out into a battle instead of finishing the evolution.

  6. So I just had a scary thought
What if this alleged Rugby Gorilla isn’t a Ground/Fighting type but screws me and is a Rock/Fighting type
