Reports have come in of Twitter users being blocked by Ken Sugimori, the art director of the Pokémon franchise, for inquiring about or sending pictures of the previously covered starter evolutions. Although there is absolutely no confirmation that these starter evolutions have any legitimacy, it is interesting that he’d go so far as to block people if they were fake or fan creations. I’d also like to take a moment to ask you not to tweet at him because doing so is going to have no positive outcome for you or our community.

Grass/Flying, Fire/Fighting, Water/Ice would be an interesting combo:
Grass < Fire < Water Fight > Ice > Flying
If the was a full reverse matchup, Rowlet’s evolution could have a very hard time again the other two. Both of them will have access moves that are either 2x or 4x effective.
The Tiger is obviously Fire/Dark .

Well if these are real, then personally I think they’ll be called Poppliren for Popplio’s one, Archowl for Rowlet’s one and Tigrember for Litten’s.

If anyone annoyed me with the same questions and stuff i would block them, doesnt mean im trying to hide or deny anything. I think these people are imature, cant they wait for the reveal in its own time. The waiting isnt so bad. I get very excited when they reveal something unannounced.

At this point, I’d actually be disappointed if these were fake. Especially Rowlet and Popplio’s final evos. They’re pretty good imho (Well, most of them are). An archer owl? COOL. A siren/seal hybrid with a dynamic hairstyle? ELEGANT. That Litten evo can go straight to the shitter tho.
Me too, litten’s final evo is my personal favorite, rowlet’s final evo is creative and popplio’s evo is a lot more interesting than a simple clown seal.

If real, the typing are OBVIOUSLY Grass/Flying and Water/Fairy for Rowlett and Popplio (where the hell are people getting Psychic and Ice from?!).
Now Litten is a little more debatable…could be either Fighting or Dark. After all, he’s based on Tiger Mask, a wrestler who uses sneaky, dishonourable and underhand fighting techniques…
I’m happy, I actually like these. Can’t decide which is my fave between Rowlet and Popplio. The only one I’m not feeling very much is Litten evo, dislike it’s bipedal. Which is shame cuz I really like Litten, probably cuz I really like cats ??

When people speculate on Pokemon half the time people want them to turn into, but Gamefreak designs them on how THEY turn out (Except Samurott that is the only clear exception)
And to be fair Rowlet could’ve been heading toward this from the very start with the Row maybe from Arrow or Bow and the use of quils and everyone freaking knows all Fire Type starters are bipedal they’ve been ending up that way for 20 years

The question is whether they were were simply blocked for showing him the leaked pics or whether the blocks are from them harassing him about them. It’s possible they could have sent him the pics enough times that he just got annoyed and decided enough was enough. If that’s the case then this whole thing means nothing and the leaks are still up in the air. If it’s the former then we could be seeing our first real confirmation that they ARE in fact the real evolutions. Which I have no problems with lol
I know this is real since it 1st leak on 5 jun 2016 . This is just 25 days after Rowlet,Litten,Popplio official reveal on 5 may 2016 . There is no way Fake artist can design this in just 25 days with this high quality design . Even Gamefreak designer use 3-4 month to design 1 starter Pokemon . You will never see a fan-art with this perfect design .This design is really great and better than Charizard,Samurott,Greninja,Delphox .

Well I can’t say I agree completely with you about the other starters I DO agree with you that these designs are pretty good. All three are unique and regardless of “simplicity” or “complexity” the designs are solid. I think my only fear is Litten’s evo becoming part fighting type. I’d love it if it was dark…..or really anything else, but the pics don’t tell us so it’s up to what we DO see and it’s pretty telling……*sigh* I really hope it’s not another fighting type…..It’s not a bad typing, it’s just boring lol

To be honest, I’d be glad if these were real. They’re certainly a lot better in my opinion than the horrible evolutions of the last 2 generations. None of them are bland like Delphox. None of them drastically get a new weird theme ( tongue scarf) like Greninja or Samurrot. There’s clear progression and coherence between the first and the last stage. Yes it’s annoying that for some reason all fire types look the same, but maybe it’s just like the Chinese Calendar thing rule for fire starters… If it was on four legs everything would be okay ! Do the POKEMON company know the fans really want a quadruped fire starter? Maybe for next time we send them a million emails…
At this point there are so many hints to them being real, I think they likely are. Which I wouldn’t mind, the Rowlet one looks great.
My question is why they would even be available for someone to leak this early. This was right before E4 if I recall, and they look similar to noivern’s art which was revealed there if I’m correct. These weren’t revealed there however.

I am only a fan of Rowlet’s supposed final evolved form, but I wouldn’t mind if it were fake. I can’t stand Litten’s supposed final evolved form because I definitely want it to be a blazing quadrupedal BEAST and not our 4TH Fire/Fghting-type starter Pokémon. Popplio’s supposed final evolved form looks elegant, but is even more feminine than Meganium! At least Meganium can somewhat pass as male, but that thing? Unless there is a huge male difference, it’s a PokéTrap.
I’m also bothered that if these designs do turn out to be real, they were leaked waaay too early.
Just know, if these really are the legit final evolved forms for our starters this generation, we’ve got ForeskinBird, FireCrotchWeinerFingers, and TransMermaid. Let that settle in…

Notice how the beauty of it is in its simplicity. It’s just two things smashed together (a flower and a dinosaur). There’s no weird inspiration or reference. There aren’t multiple animals used in the design. There’s no complex back story. Simple, cute, cool. Everything a final starter Eco should be.

If real, Rowlets evo would be the best design since Serperior. Littens, as I’ve stated many times before, is hideous and really unimaginative when compared to past fire starters. Popplios is…alright. I don’t like popplio as it is now so this doesn’t really change my opinion on it that much.

Nobody ever said starters have to be masculine or neutral. Frankly the fact it looked feminine had never crossed my mind. It’s not the first ever feminine starter though. Delphox looks feminine, Blaziken looks feminine. Heck, I dare say Meganium looks somewhat feminine.
Granted none of the water starters do though.
Ultimately it depends on how you squint though. If I squint hard enough Feraligatr looks feminine.
If they are legit, it’ll be one of the few times I think a water starter looks reasonable. I’ve only ever chosen a water starter once and I regretted it. It’ll also be the only time I think the fire starter looks bad. I can appreciate wanting another wrestling themed pokemon (as much as I dislike wrestling) but did they have to corrupt the cat starter? I’ve been waiting eons for a cat starter ; n ;
I kinda feel the Rowlet one doesn’t resemble an owl all that much. It looks more like a falcon or a hawk, especially when you look at the unhooded part.

That pretty much confirms it at this point. They’re real. He’s angry that his designs or rather, the concept art of designs that other staff turned into him, got leaked. So, therefore, he blocks you. But what about the Chinese leaker? Something in my gut just tells me was like the Gematsu leaker type. Got a few things right then mixed the rest of the info with lies.
Or it could be that with so many people sending those his way, he’s started to get tired of seeing these fake leaks, and so he’s blocked them. It could still go either way- real or fake.
Its kind of funny, but I JUST now noticed something on Poppleo’s evolutions ref page.
It looks like words are being formed out of water in the one area, so is this perhaps going to be something that it does in its character animation, or is it going to be part of one of its attacks, LOL or am I just overthinking it. XD But yeah that was something cool that I noticed, and think that it would be awesome if that is what it really turned out to be. Because I now 100% fully believe that these guys are real, and I’m O.K with that, because I really like them, it took me a while with Littens final, but my dislike for it has turned into, tolerable liking. 😀
I am honestly no longer phased by this kind of news :T I think there is barely a shadow of a doubt that these are real. I guess I’m glad they leaked so early so I have plenty of time to get acclimated to them.
Fuck they’re probably really real now. Looks like I won’t be using a starter this generation yet again. Maybe I’ll be a female player in Sun and I’ll let her use the mermaid poplio. As for myself though, I will never get behind ANOTHER fire/fighting type and I definitely can’t get behind that awful uncharismatic rowlett evo. The bloody thing has no face. All I wanted was a large, bad ass, grass/flying horned owl and they give us some weird bird in a treyvon Martin hoodie with fucking finger wings that it uses to shoot arrows like fucking Robin Hood. We will have to see the second stages for true confirmation, but unlike all other tumors and leaks, this one just won’t go away and when that happens it must be real. I’m preparing myself for the extreme disappointment.

Stilt-owls are extinct owls that actually used to live in Hawaii. If you even heard of the prehistoric/exitct animal theme for grass starters theory, this matches just fine.
Geckos and turtles still exist, though? Even those the purported size of Torterra.
And how about our Gen 6 chestnut?
Sceptile is more than like based off a raptor, Torterra a Meiolania/Ankylosaurus, Chesnaught a glyptodon and so forth.
I don’t really dig the Ankylosaurus theory, it’s missing the tail with the mace/spikes thing…
The others are plausible though.

Yes, absolutely, most of them are just bigger versions of themselves or, in rowlet’s case, became a giant griffin that looks more like a freaking legendary.
I’ll be honest, I’ve seen a lot of fake evolutions of these guys and they’ve been okay but for the most part pretty boring and uninspired as a whole, especially for Litten.
Uh you must be blind, because Rowlets evo DOES have a face, and its design is totally awesome, and its doing the “Robin Hood thing” in case you cant see that. And I believe that Littens Final evo is NOT going to be Fire/Fighting, it is going to be Fire/DARK. And for your 4’11 they still DO have so much potential. 😛 Just because YOU don’t like them doesn’t mean that they are bad or disappointing designs. They are amazing designs. 🙂
Maybe you should do a simple google search of some fan-created final evolutions. Because some of the designs people came up with were IMPECABLE compared to the ones we are discussing here. Afterward, you can have several seats 🙂

Well the World Tournament was another disappointment

I wish more people would try new creative stuff to win tounaments. There are tons of people with outside box strategies. Maybe we’ll be surprised with the world tournaments, like the dude with the Pachirisu did.
This year’s VGC is kind of the worst format for creativity, though. There’s only so many ways to build a team when you both have 2 ubers AND have to deal with Dark Void.
2014 was great for creativity because of the good amount of Pokemon available, plus the only legends that were allowed were the gen 1 birds.
Probably he got annoyed because they were tweeting it at him and not just about the leak in general.

I did see on a forum that apparently the confidential stamp used on these guys actually matches the one used in the sheets we saw in the Sun and Moon reveal trailer. Easy to fake, for sure. But its an interesting detail that I can’t imagine most people would even think of, especially when the confidential stamp from that Noivern sheet is probably easier to use and more believable to most people who wouldn’t have noticed the stamps in the trailer.
No basis for this, but what if this is a giant red herring? Like Gamefreak knew fans were getting better at finding leaks, so to throw us off their scent, they picked the most legit fanart and started censoring it. Now we’re so distracted by this fanart that we turned away from the real evo’s… Or it could be the real evolutions, who knows? =P
But the artist would’ve found by now, and I’m not if they are allowed to take people’s art like that.

I notice people who hates these mention hate for gen 5 starters. Well, my top 3 Final Starter Evolutions would be:
1. Entermaid (Popp3)
2. Serperior
3. Samurott
People just like to hate on everything, especially leaked pokemon. I remember distinctly everyone HATED the leaked and obviously “fake” Greninja. Except when it turned out to be real everyone love it. If these are real, boycotting the starters just makes you seem like a petty hater. Robbinhoot and Entermaid are stunning designs.
And, why the fuck can’t we have a feminine final starter? Get over your weird misogyny and irrational queer phobia (that’s girly and therefore gay logic) that motivates your dislike.
I really hope that its name isn’t “Entermaid.” I do NOT want to see the NSFW fan art for that. Also, I think it’s fair to dislike leaked pokemon. Gen 5 and 6 starters have had polarizing designs among the poke community, whether they were leaked or not.
I’d say that it depends on the tone and style these people addressed it to Ken. I guarantee that they heavily ridiculed the designs; especially Litten’s. Not going to lie, I’ve gotten rather used to these designs. I’m still not a gigantic fan of Tony the Tiger, but I’ll eventually completely warm up to it.
Anyways, some more positive news; Pokemon Sun/Moon is the most pre-ordered Pokemon Game in Italy. There are “male” specific features on many starter evolutions…so they already do make gender specific designs.
Well I’m not trying to defend these leaked starter designs, but the Litten one is what could be considered very “masculine” so I don’t see the problem with having a very “feminine” one too. The Rowlet one is pretty neutral.
It’s similar to the masculine Chesnaught line/ feminine Delphox line / neutral(androgenous) Greninja line.
My problem is popplio doesn’t look feminine at all to me… And it’s final evo, to me, looks overwhelmingly girly without a purpose. At least Delphox looks battle rdy.. I love braxien and fennekin, it’s feminine from the start. But this right here is illogical and useless looking to me. That’s my problem with it

It’d only be gender swapping if Popplio looked “masculine”, which it doesn’t at all. It just looks like a dumb little seal trying to have a good time with some bubbles. Nothing about it suggests a gender. People here just have an idea that a seal needs to turn out big and fat and bulky. But look at seel into Dewgong. Seel isn’t feminine but dewgong is somewhat.

2. Love Rowlett’s evo, reminds me of a medieval spy x3, Litten’s evo grew on me but still annoys me because… Gamefreak, why do you hate the possibilities of having a quadrupedal fire starter? First Emboar, then Delphox, now Litten? Cmon… Finally, HATED Popplio’s at first, now it grew on me. My only qualm is that there’s a pic of it standing on its tailfin which is (in my opinion) awkward-looking and dumb, I can see it being one of its battle animation and it bugs me.

I actually thought of a mermaid fighting game character and it seems to work! Well that aside, I bet Popplio3 would do the standing thing for status moves. Popplio”1″ already does it as an idle animation.
Also almost all (fire) starters are bipedal; and even Cyndaquil have bipedal tendencies… heh heh heh.

And for the others, made sense to me: Dragon, ape, fire chicken, whatever Typhlosion is. But for Emboar, could have been a badass warthog, for Delphox, couldve been like a mystic kyubii, similar to Ninetails (Ok after saying that I can see it), and Litten could be more feral.

I’m torn on mega evolutions. I don’t want it replacing full evolutions, and I don’t want it taking up the space of more new pokemon.
But megas are interesting, and add to the competitive nature of the game.
Then again, if we’re getting super moves, adding new megas could make it pretty complex, they’d probably need to tone down the amount of new megas to compensate (and since we haven’t seen any yet, that’s probably the case).
Personally I’m against megas.
I like some of the designs of the megas, but personally I’d prefer they were actually full time pokemon or full alternate forms and not just some ‘only exist during battle’ thing. It makes them fleeting, like weather effects.
Plus the limited number of megas means non-megas are more likely to get neglected and it’s hard to run a team without having a mega yourself, which again locks you into choosing from the set of pokemon that have mega evos.
If the new Z-moves can one shot a mega evo, balance will be restored.

So if you had to make a new ability, what would it be/do? Personally I want more abilities like refrigerate and pixelate. Perhaps one for grass, bug, and steel. I would also like an ability for a rock type called Galvanized that protects it from water attacks.
One for my Steel/Dark evil robot pokemon: Internal Core, gives this pokemon STAB on electric moves, thus making triple type pokemon without making it confusing.
Ghost/Rock skeletal cat pokemon: 9 lives, once you knock this pokemon out, it heals itself to 50%. Works 9 times >:) I’m just kidding, that would be evil lol. But I think a move called reanimate would be really cool for this pokemon. When you use it, it basically is like a revive for a pokemon in your party. Can only be used once per battle. That, or it brings you to 50 health in exchange. I know a lot about dark magic and such is a sort of “give and take” kind of thing. Maybe it’d be a Dark/Rock type then…
The prevo would go from Dark/Electric –> Dark/Steel with a metal coat. That’s why I’d want it to keep that electric stab 🙂
Not new abilities but this is what I would have done for Full Metal Body and Shadow Shield
Full Metal Body – 20% Boost to Steel moves, and take reduced damage from Fire
Shadow Shield – 20% Boost to Ghost moves, and take reduced damage from Dark
I would make Justified make you immune to Dark, and give you the attack boost (Like Lightening Rod, Storm Drain).
As for new abilities, one for Rowlet based on these leaks, real or not
Archer – Projectile moves have their damage increased by 50%
Since this new region is basically water everywhere, it would be great if Ash found Misty there (researching new water pokemon or smt like that). She was one of the best partners he had.
O I miss her so much. Misty had a certain fire and compassion to her that made her so likable. And she was so sassy, her and Ash exchanging quips was golden
I would love to see misty again as a traveling companion and have ash travel with the male protagonist from the region he’s in too (not alola though, the male protagonist looks like he’d have the personality of a foot)

The leak was apparently on 4chan. He didn’t give a link. I’ll ask. And it reveals the Starter’s middle evolutions, Yungoos’s evolution, and four other Pokemon. One of them being the Sea Cucumber Pokemon that the Chinese leaker had mentioned. The Sea Cucumber is apparently exclusive to Moon.

If it’s real. People have gotten better at making “My Uncle Works for Nintendo” leaks these days. Wouldn’t surprise me if someone spent all this time writing up the descriptions for these Pokemon and they turn out to be false. And if I recall, the European fired Employee leaker gave the same species classifications for the Starters as this guy did. It doesn’t take rocket science to write up a well though out leak. Just time. Which most “leakers” don’t have. But apparently, this guy did have the time.
I’ve only read a few so far, but the typos and messy sentences make me doubt this. I could be surprised though. 🙂
There are several things to me that give off red flags. I didn’t read the full descriptions of the Pokemon (lazy me) but the one thing that really threw me off was they don’t usually reveal the evolutions of Starters until less than 2 months or so before release. And it also seemed very convincing, but a little too convincing. But like you said, we could be surprised. August 1st can’t come soon enough!
I would assume that if these were real, they’d be copy/pasted, but there are so. many. typos. In Ickle’s description, ‘enduring’ is used where I believe they meant ‘endearing.’ But that’s only one of many mistakes I’ve spotted.

Text-only leaks are usually a good indicator to me as a red flag that the leak is fake. It’s typical to get these type of “leaks” right before an announcement. As August 1st is this Monday.

What is winbat? I thought it was a wombat, but from the description it’s clearly not, but it doesn’t sound like a bat either.
Knuckle bite? That sounds very specific to Mangoose (and also sounds dumb) and they almost never give special moves to pokemon that aren’t very special in some way (Starters, Volcarona, Legends, etc.) I’m calling fake.
I hope they are fake I think starters final evos should be as Gender neutral as possible. And Gender differences are acceptable as long as they are minor like Venusaurs and others.
Gender differences are cool, but if not, I feel like it doesn’t really matter if they’re fem/masc as long as the designs are good.
Never said anything about fem and masc.People tend to forget that pokemon are that worlds version of animals, and animals barring some species have very minute differences.
Fem/Masc generally refer to specific genders, which is what I’m talking about. You can get all technical if you want…but that’s what I’m getting at.
Go on Google and have a look at the majority of MALE animals, and you will see that its the male animals that are the more impressive, and pretty looking of the many species. So no they don’t need to be made more “Gender Neutral, because if you go by real life, then they are VERY much “gender neutral” Pokemon are based on animals NOT humans, so it does not matter how feminine or macho they come out looking.
Can we not go into this debate again? I know everyone has their own opinion, but these designs are rather okay. I do not care if one looks more feminine or masculine than the other. It’s ridiculous and we’ve had stuff like this in Pokemon before (examples; Gardevoir, Lopunny, and Milotic). It doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. Additionally, we do not know if these designs are real or fake. Don’t stress yourself.

There’s still CoroCoro’s “Southern Alola Guide” next month. And that will likely give more information in addition to the 1st. CoroCoro has been very good with keeping their promise of new info each month.

I tried to find something about him designing an extra amount but can’t really. However, I did find this, which I had forgotten about: Shellos/Gastrodon were originally intended to be Gen 3 pokemon but weren’t included because of time constraints. So not every pokemon he designs make it into said generation! Sort of like what I was talking about.

Honestly I think you just started a certain convo at a bad time, although I don’t think anyone was being rude. There was a lengthy heated debate earlier with some people getting upset over feminine pokemon. So I think people were just tired of seeing a bunch of topics on it because there are some very polarized opinions on the topic (and not everyone is always accepting about stuff like that, although it’s generally in a respectful manner.) Hopefully you’re not pushed away from the community here though.

I really like that, but I personally don’t see it evolving. I see it as a similar gimmick to Klefki even though I frequently see people comparing it to Flabebe.
I’m in between. Klefki didn’t evolve, but it had a whole bunch of different keys to make the design more complex. Comfey’s design is much simpler, leaving an evolution open imo. Although true, it is another object-gimmicky pokemon.

I was on the /vp/ board when I think we began tweeting the images at Sugimori and Masuda, less than a month ago. Does anyone know if they have been blocking other “leaks”? If these are the only ones they’re taking measures to block, that would probably infer legitimacy.

So with Florges and comfey, does anyone thing flowers may be a recurring theme in fairy types? It’s usually reserved to grass types, but now we have two Pokemon lines that contradict that.
Maybe somewhat, but I wouldn’t say exclusively, otherwise many old Pokemon would’ve been reclassed for fairies.
I agree. I wish they would either commit to the theme or at least say what constitutes a fairy: is it cute Pokemon? mostly. Are they magical? Yeah. Are they pink? A lot are. Moon? Healing? Flowers? Etc.
Yeah it is a bit inconsistent. Cute? Any Pokemon could be. Magical? Could also be psychic Pink? A lot are fairy, yeah, but not always. Flowers? Could be grass. I see what you mean, there is no real theme throughout the type.
Although I guess you could say that every fairy is either magical, pink, or cute, or all of the above.
I gotta say, I love this group. I tried looking around a Facebook for pokemon, and they’re all just giant jokes of people wanting to feel puffed up and important. Yeah we have rules here but they’re really just common sense rules, and admins are parts of the group rather than just trying to make themselves feel good. Less than a day until news! I’m personally hoping for at least 5 new Pokemon, with at least one of those being an evolution of a previously-revealed Pokemon (Komala, Bounsweet, and Wimpod seem likely to me). I also feel like we’ll get a new Legendary, possibly another Guardian, and maybe even the reveal of Synchro! Remember, it was the August 2013 CoroCoro that revealed Mega Evolutions. As for me, I’ve been drifting away from Pokemon this summer to catch up on PS3 and X360 games, but I’m thinking about finally starting SoulSilver today. I can’t think of a better time to do that.
I have a feeling we won’t get any Pokemon at all. We have been getting so many Pokemon-only reveals. I think we’ll get the synchro moves, a few gym leaders, and a few towns.
If this region has more new Pokemon than Kalos, I can expect that they’ll keep revealing new ones a couple times a month until November. This is especially likely if it has as many as Unova.
It would be great, but if we’re being honest, it won’t. xD

Something tells me we aren’t getting a new Pokemon dump tomorrow. Don’t know what we will get, but it may be just region/character info, or maybe intro to evil team/storyline details.
I think most people would be ok with that. We have plenty of Pokemon to look at now. What don’t have is a lot of insight on the actual region. It’d be nice to meet some new characters and see some new points of interest. lol
You know how every region has a theme for naming towns and stuff, like kanto-colors, johto-types of plants, unova-clouds etc well i hope that alola us really simple and towns and cities are just named with plain old hawaiian words like Moana city, lani town or haohao village

But now we are aimlessly wandering hoping to get lucky. No tracking system is game breaking, there is literally no way to find Pokemon. I’d rather have the server issues.
It still tells you who’s closest and has a smaller range of where they can be, so if it moves down the list you’re going the wrong way
But something may have spawned or something. Idk, I just feel like I can’t track anything accurately anymore. The worst part is the lack of communication. They need to tell us whether it is a bug, if it is permanent, or what.
From what I’ve heard, they said it was too much of a strain on their servers to have the tracking system up, so they disabled it until they could get it working without crashing the servers

It’s been like that for awhile though, the steps were broken, all they did was remove the steps.

So during the friggin 10 hours of no freaking Internet and electricity I worked on my Fakemon dex and finally cranked out my regional bug, the Emperor Tailed Caterpillar
Grubblet Bug
A medium sized light green grub with 4 long yellow horns on its head similar to a crown, and with blue compound eyes resembling jewels, numerous beady feet and at the very end of the body a rhomboid sapphire jewel
Then into Krystasis Bug
A multicolored glittering cocoon with all sorts of bright shiny scales resembling a Faberge Egg with two sets of jewels resembling eyes
Then finally Emproyal Bug/Psychic
But a elegant silvery gold Butterfly with ginormous sapphire wings with crystal cut scales, 5 long antennas each adorn with light blue dews and glittering crystal eyes and a iconic white ruffle collar
They’re very sought after because they build nests with a translucent saliva that when hardens looks like the most pristine jewels also they can emit an ultrasonic energy from the flapping of its wings to ward off all predators (and maybe even going as far as serving them)

Yeah i guess, its just that i play go at my local park which is huge and most pokemon are eevees and ryhorns, but occasionally rare pokemon like bulbalsaur or starmie spawn and pokevision help me see if they were near me or on the other side of the park xD
I think the difference is the system for hunting pokemon now is more like hunting Feebas in Gen 3, you have to find the exact specific tile it’s on with no help, so it’s frustrating as heck. Running into pokemon in the game isn’t really all that random, you’ll run into pokemon as long as you’re in the tall grass, it’s just the species that’s random.
It’s not like the point of the game is to be out and exploring haha
But I also have to look at my phone which has a very, very small radius that can detect pokemon. If this were real life, I’d have several hundred feet of distance that I could see pokemon from (using my eyes), not 6 or 7 around me that the game uses. They need to expand the detection radius.

That’s the Secret ID. This also was used to ensure that even with the finite amount of IDs, no two should be exactly the same b/c of the Secret ID. Furthermore, the amount of normal ID’s is given by 10^n, where an integer n is the amount of digits. If the SID is the same length as the ID, then the total amount of combinations is 10^2n. Since there are 7 billion people in the world, or 7*10^9, 2n>9. The first integer where this occurs is 5, hence why each ID is 5 digits long. This makes me wonder why they changed it — I guess so as to not risk anything & because people get multiple copies of each game?

So guys, on Pokemon Go, a Sandshrew is near my area. Ive never even seen one before, the tracker got rid of its footstep system, Niantic shut down all third party apps, Ive been wandering aimlessly for around 10 min, it’s 106 miles to Chicago, I’ve got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it’s dark and I’m wearing sunglasses. Does anyone have any advice before it disappears?
If you tap on the pokemon in the tracker, then only grass patches containing that pokemon will appear. You just gotta find the grass patch then head over there

This Pokemon GO update is partly bad and good. I mean, mostly bad but I like to look on the bright side of things.
First, I think the balancing stuff is great. It shows that Niantic is aware of the battle system being wacko. Hopefully they fix even further..
Second, the transfer update is great, but hopefully they also incorporate an option to transfer multiple Pokemon at once.
Third. NIANTIC YOU BETTER FREAKING DO SOMETHING QUICK ABOUT THIS TRACKING STUFF. I SWEAR IF YOU GUYS DON”T FIX IT YOU’LL LOSE ALL YOUR PLAYERS.
But in all seriousness, Niantic needs to be more responsive through their social media. Because all these people are asking what is happening and they can’t even tweet or post one thing about why they took such a move. It’s very simple to hire a social media team with the money made in just the first month of launch.
The update on August 1st on Pokémon Sun and Moon will feature 3-10 new Pokémon plus a few new Mega Evolutions.

I more or less agree, for X/Y it made sense because the professor was studying them. But I feel like they’re too integrated in the series now to make it a post-game feature. Because if there’s new ones, players will want to have it in their team and use it against the E4. Like you said though, I could be wrong.

What is everyone’s plan for release, pertaining to leaks and info? I stayed around for XY leaks, but I feel like I would’ve had more fun if it’d been a surprise. So this time, I’m going to avoid the internet completely for two weeks in advance of SM, and not come back until I finish the games and explore the post game extensively. It’ll be tough, but I’m determined to avoid spoilers, so I hope that it’s worth it with many surprises in game.
I’m going completely offline once I see that somebody has gotten the game early because it’s bound to happen. I’ll probably come back after post-game.
It’s weird for me, because I don’t want spoilers, so I’m intentionally staying away, but at the same time I’m subconsciously afraid of missing something. XD

I told myself that before ORAS but I find that knowing info about the game never really detracts from the experience for me.
I don’t know either way, because I’ve spoiled every release I’ve been genuinely interested in, so this’ll be new for me. Plus with ORAS, all the Megas were revealed pre release, and it’s a remake, so it’s different.

Yeah, definitely agree. Plus most leaks/info we get doesn’t minimize my experience of it. I still react in the same way I normally do. The leaks don’t give away every single detail of the game, and if they do, I don’t look at all of it, so my experience isn’t spoiled because of it.

I have to weigh my options here. Sure, the leaks were a lot of fun, but having a Pokemon be a complete surprise would be fun as well.
I forgot to add that I’ve never went into a Pokemon game without knowing every detail of it, so it’d be a new experience for me.
I think the only time I went in totally blind was Diamond. Sure, it was kind of fun, and it was what I needed to get back into the series with the love I have now, but with the way I am now, I don’t mind not going in blind. I’m glad for that experience, and I definitely think you should at least do it once, but it’s something that I will probably never do again.
But maybe you’ll like doing it and keep doing it 🙂 I think you should try it once, just to have that experience.
If it’s anything like ORAS though, and there is little surprise involved, or if I miss the surprise, I will have felt like I wasted the time. XY leak season was tons of fun, though I think I’ll try to get the surprise element.

Every release period I get tricked once by a leak on vp. It’s already happened so I no longer believe anything from them until they can somehow regain my trust with something coming true. Until then vp has got nothing…lol
Sounds great, but the starter evolutions seem too convenient to be true. All of the middle evolutions contain elements that relate directly to the starter leaks? Does that hold true for any other starter trio?
The only one that comes to mind is Braixen’s wand hinting at the Mage Delphox.
There are multiple examples, but never have all three starters in a single generation done that (as far as I’m concerned). Frogadier is an entirely separate entity from Greninja, you couldn’t really tell what it would evolve into. I’m not 100% sure this is fake, but it seems like it to me.
The typos almost prove that it is fake, but it’s still fun to speculate.
I will say though, I am feeling like version exclusives and starter evolutions are pretty likely for this info dump. Strange that they both appear on this leak.
Unless the final starter leaks are real and they feel like they have nothing to lose at this point, I feel that getting stater evos is a highly unlikely prediction, though we are getting close.
Well the way I see it, they do have similarities to the leaked final evos, but those leaked evos also have an unique aspect that coudn’t be predicted by reading the middle stage descriptions:
Litten > urban cat > wrestler
Rowlet > goofy owl > moody archer
Popplio > entertainer seal > siren
I mean, seems very detailed. And either someone had way too much time on their hands (I don’t see too many flaws with the leak) or it’s real.
The sea cucumber mon and the fact that this “leaker” posted exclusive Pokemon is something worth noting. Then again, the starter evos sound WAY too predictable.

Not to be that guy, but it’s the closest thing to dragon/ fairy that we have besides altaria.
The only reasons I chose water is because it’s in the water 1 egg group and learns water moves. Dragon/Water is what I want, but I’d take whatever.
I’d like Dragon/Ice because it’s fairly unique, and I have no other reasoning other than Dragonair’s color. 😛

Please be considerate when playing Pokemon GO. My brother and I were taking gyms from each other to gain exp, so we were putting low cp Pokemon on. Then some people drove by and made fun of my brother for putting on a CP 27 Squirtle, and drove off laughing. Instead of “watch where you’re going” warning, there should be a “please be considerate” warning.

In addition, you shouldn’t put a Pokemon with an inappropriate name in a gym because younger children could very easily see it.
Only the owner can see the nickname, I’ve heard, though I can’t say from personal experience.

Even the genwunners. On one the first days, my brother and I were out, and we walked by some men, and one muttered to the other “at least this was our generation. I bet they play the new games.” They laughed at us, so I said “hey you’re missing out”, and they snickered and went away. I feel like a bunch of genwunners are playing too, which is great, until they make fun of gen 2-7.

I disagree. There only like two Pokemon I dislike from gen 6. Gen 5’s designs had some crappy ones.
If we’re talking about Pokemon designs alone, gen 6 was phenomenal, but the generation as a whole was not great.
I’m replaying x and I’m trying to not feel too old for the game. It’s hard sometimes.
Grrrr…. This is another thing that makes me mad… I hope they add gens 2-7 quick to make people understand gen 1 is not the best.
The experience gain from that is kinda low compared to walking around in a 5-minute route around various Pokestops. Or catching tons of weedles, caterpies and pidgeys then evolve them all at once with a Lucky Egg up.
Though for sitting around in the same place, it is pretty good.

Dude a solid iron ingot would not only be harder but the shape and sharpe edges would make the strikes hurt, and beside sometimes the aerodynamics play a role, a big clunky rock would hurt more but you’d need good momentum, but and ingot would allow swifter strikes at a more concentrated hit point

We have Dark and Ice with 0 Pokemon revealed so far, and Ground and Fighting with 1 Pokemon revealed so far. (Well there’s Dragon too with 1, but I doubt any starter will be assigned Dragon type unless it’s a Mega.)

Hopefully it’s an offensive Ice type! Ice type is NOT a defensive type, GameFreak, so stop trying it!! I have always wanted a snowman pokemon. I mean I guess, but since Ice is only resistant against itself AND it has 4 weaknesses (2 of which common), I think it’s pretty safe to say it’s not built to be offensive. They may want it defensive but it doesn’t work that way for it.
