The Pokémon Company has officially announced Pokémon Sun & Pokémon Moon versions in today’s Pokémon Direct.

Pokémon Sun & Moon are compatible with Pokémon Bank and Pokémon can be transferred to Sun and Moon from the Virtual Console games. It will also be possible to transfer Pokémon from Pokémon X & Y and ORAS, using Pokémon Bank. The games will be playable worldwide in 9 languages.
The official site has confirmed that Sun and Moon will arrive with “a new world, new Pokémon, and new adventures to discover”. New Pokémon and region/s are confirmed! In addition to this the press release for the UK specifically states that Sun and Moon are a “new generation of Pokémon game”.
For those with a keen eye: the trailer appears to tease a new bird Pokémon with a similar appearance to Fletchling.
But man I gotta say if this is really the end of Kalos, there are so many questions left unanswered. I really do hope these next games have some relationship with Kalos in some way, whatever this new region is.
Maybe the whole Zygarde thing might be addressed in the Anime or in the new Pokemon movie maybe?
In about 10 years they’ll do Pokemon XZ and YZ as a strategy to draw in old fans again. Just try to stay alive. ^_^
Here is some information about Sun and Moon. This is a new generation of Pokemon, so bring on Generation 7 (could still be 6.5). It’s an entire new region (highly close to Kalos) with new Pokemon. This is unexpected for me, I thought the next region would be on the NX. GameFreak is seriously becoming unpredictable.
Also, that 3DS Game Release List rumor (for first-party titles) is actually legit. Pokemon Sun and Moon are known as “Niji” or Project Rainbow. With this information, I’m expecting the new region to be based on somewhere tropical; maybe Mexico, Brazil, or Spain. I’m going off of this from the tropical trees in that hotel-like area. It also looks like Red finally got down from Mt. Silver… lol. I think that might be Red, a new protagonist, or simply a placeholder. The trucks were carrying Furfrou, Wobbuffet, Machamp, and Blastoise. Maybe, we could see proper cars driving around the region (we did see trucks in B/W & OR/AS and taxis in X/Y). Lastly, we got to see the Pokemon Centers and what I believe to be the starting town. This is all just speculation from the Direct, so nothing new if anyone stated it.
The starting town is new :3 I saw some rooms, but not too clearly.
I post the images again from the HD video. You could see the rooms more clearly. You might have not refreshed, but I edited my comment. I believe this region will be based on Spain and it will be near Kalos (since Kalos is based on France). We might be able to travel to the Kalos Region in this game. I seriously cannot wait for more info on these titles! 😀

I wonder what the booths/stands in the last picture could be for? The brown stand kinda looks like it could be in a cafe type setting. i’m not too sure about the blue one.

True, it could be something else, but I think so because it’s both are surrounded by Pokemon Center images (at least I think so from what I’ve seen around it) so it makes sense. We’ll hopefully know for sure soon.

I want a city based on Old San Juan. It’s a magical and beautiful city filled coulor and history. It still looks like how it did when it was built(1521), castles made for war, a city fortifed completely, beautiful cobblestone streets and tons of ports for cruise ships. Honestly I want a region based on the caribbean.
Plus it would make for a great SS boat. Like all the cruise ships in that area. And they can make a tribal Loiza (where I’m from)
The thing I just realized is that they will troll us with Mega’s and not reveal as much new pokes as usual.

You should get Pokemon Yellow
you will have access to all three starters, which would be awesome to get all starters in one game, The game will have Team Rocket in it, they are always fun (even though they aren’t as a big of a role in the anime). The graphics are much better. The sprites actually look like pokemon XD not some fetus ( http://pldh.net/media/pokemon/gen1/green/151.png ).
Granted you won’t have access to Weedle line, Raichu, Ekans line, Koffing line, Jynx Magmar or electabuzz, and meowth line. But I think it’s worth it. Yellow is better in every single way pretty much

So how long do we guess they take radio silence? I imagine we won’t hear much for another month at least. That’s just the way they do things. I remember it took them forever to get into the XY stuff. I imagine we will have to wait for a little while to hear anything new hahaha
If I remember correctly back for XY, it was announced in January, CoroCoro in February just copy pasted the info. Than in March we didn’t get anything and with April’s CoroCoro we got more and more. But that is just a vague memory of mine.

I hope they boost Ice type playability, since they are easily one of the worst types to use, since they all have so many weaknesses, and tend to be super frail. Ice has the same number of weaknesses as grass type(?) Yet grass types can do much more! Let’s get some Ice buffs (I know that’s too much wishing). Maybe being super effective on water types?

Ice is a great typing coverage wise. But as a typing on Pokemon, it’s not really good.

Ice needs to resist water and fairy types. Fairy types are kinda overpowered so ice resisting it could be useful.

I really hope we get more new original pokes than back in Gen VI. 70 was really low last. Overall it can even be 70 but even out the types. We had half a ground type. I want an more even field.

it’s over 7ft tall and is incredibly gentle it will defend its trainer with its life, surprisingly strong it can easily snap trees with its massive arms
