  5. What a lovely story it is:

    In ancient times there were ten great sunbirds above the earth, each a child of Shangdi, and they would each take turns traveling across the sky as the sun. However one day they all decided to ascend at once, and they scorched the earth with their heat and brightness. Shangdi summoned the god Houyi to scare them away and save the world below, but they were troublesome and would not be quelled. So Houyi shot them down one by one, until only one sun remained. Shangdi was furious with the archer for killing his children, and banished he and his wife Chang’e to live on Earth as mortals.

    Houyi sought the aid of Xi Wang Mu on mount Kunlun to restore them, and the goddess took pity on him. She had a single vial of the elixir of life, and she gave it to him, saying that “If you drink half of the vial, you will gain eternal life. If you drink all of it, you will ascend to the heavens as an immortal god.” Houyi took the vial home, intending to drink half and leave the other half for Chang’e, so that they might both live eternally on Earth. But Chang’e found the vial while he was out hunting one day, and drank all of it, curious about what it was. She immediately became weightless and ascended up toward heaven, returned to her godlike state, and Houyi was too late to catch her.

    She flew up to the Moon, still banished from heaven, and lives there still with a great many white and jade rabbits as her servants. Houyi was murdered by his apprentice Feng Meng, who was jealous of the mastery of the bow which he could not achieve, and the spirit of Houyi ascended to the Sun and built a palace there. Now he and Chang’e share the sky, and like Yin and Yang they balance the world, though the Moon occasionally sojourns into the daylight sky to be with her husband for a time.

  8. I’ve made brownies for the occasion. At 3pm I will be sitting comfortably eating my brownies and then spraying brownie crumbs everywhere when the new games are announced and I scream the house down.

  9. I hope the legendaries aren’t at battle with each other. In a lot of mythology the sun and moon seem to be like husband and wife and I kind of like that idea. That would open up some cool possibilities for their designs and lore

  14. I decided to calm down and do not expect too much. The worst thing that could happen is to have X2/Y2-like games with no new Pokémon. I hope that I am wrong. Nintendo surprise me.

  16. What if they were to announce both Z and these 2 games? Like Z will be released this year but Sun and Moon will be next year or so. Its just a thought

  19. I think we should call this 6.5 if it runs the same engine as XY/ORaS or if can trade with XY just fine without the Bank. And has some connection to Kalos.

    I think we should call it gen 7 if none of these are true.

  21. Just saw this on Twitter, but the sun creates rainbows and the moon creates tides. What did Lugia and Ho-Oh do again?

    Highly doubt it’ll be anything exactly like Johto. Otherwise we wouldn’t have had access to them on ORAS.

  41. I’m hoping the new games (given they confirm new main series titles) will be set in a much earlier time. Possibly 3000 years ago? Lol.
    But mostly because having Pokemon set in a more ancient time setting would be really neat, and so visually different to what we already have.
    Plus ya know, Johto was supposed to be opposite of highly developed Kanto. So that could be neat given the whole moon sun=silver gold theory

  102. No info about if it’s new gen…well that’s not at all what I wanted! I need starters, legendaries!
    Nah, all things considered, that’s awesome!! Gotta go check frame by frame to see the designs they’re showing off now.

  105. I am happy that these games were confirmed, and even if we didn’t get a trailer, we got a couple rapid screenshots. This way they are making the game more mysterious and suspenseful. They may not reveal everything about the games beforehand like they did with X and Y.

I’m quite content, at least we know es real, and saw some screenshots, like a new Pokemon Center, some cars/trucks (including one looking like an ambulance), some glimpses of various rooms and towns (including a close up of a large building with a Horsea flag and Horsea fountain). Just think about it, we weren’t supposed to know anything about this early. Just because we did doesn’t mean we get a trailer. We’ll get some more peeks later on, no worries 🙂 CoroCoro es gonna be here soon.

    • tbh, thinking about it now, it makes sense. We weren’t supposed to know about the logos and whatever, so if we didn’t, this would have been more shocking and exciting.
      Still, we got some awesome screenshots of stuff. I’m content. Remember, CoroCoro is coming up 😀

  122. Well that trademark leak sure killed the hype a lot… And even if we hadn’t had that, this isn’t very much for an anniversary. Still, the RBY rerelease to sun/moon transfer is very cool. Oh well, more hype for the future… Still no idea what this is supposed to be though, gen 7/Zygarde wise. I’m thinking/hoping it’ll either be a GSC style thing, or, even better, set in South Kalos featuring Team Flare and Zyagarde in the story, acting as both a sequel and gen 7. I would love that.

    -There appears to be a firetruck but instead of a ladder/water hose it’s a blastoise
    -There’s an ambulance
    -A workers truck with a machamp in the back. This truck appears in a later shot, perhaps it belongs to one of the characters.
    -The Horsea place has to be either a mall or a spa/hotel/water gym. There are water pokemon featured on the outside.
    -That bird is Fletchling
    -New pokemon on the computer?

  125. The concept art of that one place in-game (Water type gym?) gives off a very Kalos-like aura but it could definitely be another region as well.. WHO KNOWS ANYMORE

  128. It’s all new generation. They didn’t talk about remakes, or 3rd installments, they said the year each generation came out, followed by sun and moon

    • Yeah, you’re right, wouldn’t they have shown all the games if it was an XY 3rd game? And they would have slightly mentioned if it was, so leaning more toward new gen here
