Just one day ahead of Friday’s reveal for Pokken Tournament, we’ve recieved confirmation that the Ghost/Fire-type Chandelure is indeed the new fighter! We don’t know much about Chandelure’s appearance at the moment, but a special fighting competition in January 31st is set to debut a new trailer.

Who would you like to see next in Pokken Tournament? Was Chandelure one of your picks? Let us know!

UPD 1: In addition to Chandelure’s announcement, we now know of four more Support Pokemon coming to Pokken Tournament. The first set includes Pachirisu and Magikarp, and the second set includes Sylveon and Croagunk.

        • Yeah. I just called my friend and we were ranting over how this situation is exactly like how Bayonetta was is Smash and not Shovel Knight.

          • Shovel Knight would’ve been a better choice OTHER THEN ANOTHER GOD FUCKING DAMNED TO HELL FIRE EMBLEM SWORDSMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. This is one of the biggest upsets EVER!!!!! I don’t think anyone ever thought that Chandelure of all Pokemon would have been the new fighter hahahaha Either way I’m glad they’re adding inn Pokemon of all different shapes, sizes, and fighting styles bc if they were all just humanoid looking Pokemon then it would b kind of boring. I love fighting games, but usually only play as a few characters that I like and almost never touch the others. For Pokken I think I’m gonna play as all of the them and c which mon I think is the best. I really can’t wait for March to come!!!

    • I think it’s some kind of hardened near-ectoplasmic essence given with Litwick’s waxy like composition and through evolution through Lampent to Chandelure it’s body is now a clear bubble held by by bracers
(Interesting note that you cannot see the eyes through the back of a Lampent’s head yet you can with Chandelure

But getting off topic: I hate it I hope it’s frail weak and useless

    • Those would b very interesting Pokemon to have in it. On one hand u’d have the float-y and quick Sharpedo that would shoot back and forth across the field. Then on the other hand u have the heavy and slow moving Bastiodon that would b a heavy hitter and major tank.

      • I feel like you’re the only one here who ever responds to me xD But yeah, I don’t see how they can’t do DLC. (double negative but whatever). It’s basically pokemon smash and smash made a HUGE deal about DLC. People will want it for this game

  2. YOOOO this is actually super cool, I’m really excited!!!! Chandelure is one of my top 10 favorite Pokemon, seeing it in Pokkenn is going to be awesome!!! I’m glad they’re making these awesome choices instead of all the “obvious” choices.

  3. I did not expect that, but I’m glad the developers are putting in unique pokemon instead of the expected bipedal pokemon,it really brings more diversity and separates pokken from traditional fighters.

I’m still hoping for Greninja and Hawlucha though

    • Agreed. It’s Pokemon, so I’m glad that they’re trying to make it a more unique game by utilizing some interesting pokemon.

  4. Well, that’s a surprise. It’s a much more fun choice than the expected Heracross or Swampert though, keeps the roster more varied. I like it! Hope they keep adding “weird” fighters like this.

That said, I would like to see at least a couple more “traditional” fighters too. Not necessarily Fighting-types (tho I wouldn’t mind) but maybe something like Electivire, Nidoking/-queen, or Regirock for example.

  5. “Volcanion runs off and Ash gets dragged along by it, eventually reaching the Azoth Kingdom, a city of super-machinery where gigantic cogwheels are all over the place and rotating. Why did Volcanion fall from the sky? And why did it head to the Azoth Kingdom!? With the mechanical kingdom of machinery as its setting, the hottest legend in Pokémon history begins!”
So Azoth is a place where there is a lot of machinery so this must be where Project Azoth took place

  7. Magikarp as a support Pokemon?
    That’s kinda anti support…..

I really hope it just flops around and if you step on it you slip and fall

  8. Here’s a few screenshots of Garchomp, Braxien, and Chandelure. Not going to lie, they all look amazing! It seems like Chandelure attacks with it’s lights, I’m guessing it’s focus is on distance attacks.

    Pokemon and human fusion anyone??
