Pokémon Shuffle Mobile Available in NA/UK/AU

Pokémon fans in North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia can now play Pokémon Shuffle on their phones. The game does not allow for carrying over 3DS progress, which is somewhat disappointing.

The game features familiar match-3 gameplay with a Pokémon twist and, unlike Trozei (which has very similar gameplay), does not feature timers on most levels allowing for more strategic play. Will you be downloading it? Do you think phones are a better platform for the free-to-pay title?

  1. I played some this morning: I have to say, I forgot how addicting it is. I’ll probably end up playing much more than I did on the 3DS.

  2. I don’t know if Joe can’t count or that the game tricks you in telling you get ‘free’ gems, which is sadly not the case.

  3. Tomorrow’s the first day of September. By this time next month, we could potentially know about the next games. Even if we don’t, we’ll still have Pokemon #722 and a potential new Mega Evolution to talk about.

      • But it’s quite clearly an organism, so it’s going to be a new Pokemon. My third eye says so. It’s going to mark the first time they include a brand new Pokemon in a generation’s sequel game(s), so they might go all out an put some new Pokemon in the supposed new regional area. Perhaps that’s what’s taking them so long.

  4. I’m really excited by the news of the Hyrule Edition New 3DS XL and Animal Crossing New 3DS! I was planning on getting a 3DS XL for Christmas, but this has just made my decision a lot more difficult. I know that the Hyrule one is out of the question because it’s already sold out, but I may ask for the Animal Crossing one for Christmas as it seems to be more mass-produced. At least, that’s what I hope. I really want one!

      • But hey, we can use any faceplate from any region (or so I believe). I’ll probably go for the Xenoblade one at first, but there are a wealth of options if you go for the smaller model.

    • When they announced the Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer New 3DS XL Bundle in other countries, I was so excited for that to be coming to America. Then we got this. I was considering getting this New 3DS Bundle, but it’s way too small for me. I already have bad eyes, and these will just make them worse. I’ll just sit here and wait for any future New 3DS XL bundles.

      • After posting this, I looked up the dimensions of the New 3DS, and it’s not as small as I thought. This might be a good investment!

        • I’m seriously considering it now. I think I’ll be going for the PS4 this Christmas, but who knows, I’ll probably end up buying the New 3DS with my work money.

          • Same. I’ll have the money once I trade in my 3DS XL, so I’ll be able to get it that day. I’m just happy I’ll be able to carry it worry-free in my pocket.

(Though with me purchasing Super Mario Maker I might need to work again before I buy it ;-;)

          • I want to see the screen size, meaning actually play one first, before I get one. I can’t fit my XL in my pocket comfortably. Unless we get a blue N3DS XL before a non bundle N3DS comes out, I’ll plan on getting it.

          • Apparently it’s only half-two thirds of an inch smaller in width and length than the 3DS XL. That’s why I might get it. I don’t mind the smaller screen if it’s only that much. But I’ll make sure to ask about it when I inquire at GameStop this weekend.

    • New Nintendo 3ds is a ripoff.
Nintendo promised more exclusive games, but outside of a downgraded version of Xenoblade, we’ve got nothing.

  6. Bad news: got rear ended this morning.
Good news: everybody involved is ok and I’m getting almost 2k for the tiniest little dent in my car. Looks like I’m getting myself a few new pokemon games!

    • Glad you’re still alive. That’s always a good thing. This scares me a bit, because I just had another driving lesson and I almost accidentally backed into another car. Beginner’s curse I suppose.

  7. Sophomore year starts tomorrow. I’m going to be busy, but hopefully I’ll have time to play games that come out later this year and next year as well!
