Welcome to the “How To…” series for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, to help players identify some of the harder-to-find aspects of the games. Now, without further ado, let’s jump right into today’s topic, which will cover Mega Stones. These Mega Stones will only be the Mega Stones that are present in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and I will only be covering half of them. The remaining half will be covered in Saturday’s article.
First up, we have the Diancite. In order to recieve this, you will need to head to a Pokemon Center after transferring Diancie over from Pokemon X or Pokemon Y. This can be done at any point in the game, but keep in mind that you will need to recieve the Heat Badge from Flannery before it obeys you.
Next, the Audinite. In order to recieve the Mega Stone of the only Generation V Mega Evolution to date, you will need to complete the main story as well as the Delta Episode, and you will find a certain Detective at the Battle Frontier who will give it to you…
Next we have the Galladite, which you might remember from your last battle with Wally at Victory Road. In order to recieve this, you will need to head to Fallarbor Town after the Delta Episode to recieve it from Professor Cosmo.
To get the Lopunnite, you will need to head to Mauville Hills and stop a conflict arising between two men. One of those men will reward you with this Mega Stone after helping him. This can only be done after you have caught Kyogre or Groudon in the Cave of Origin, but can be done before you defeat Wallace’s Gym.
Now, it gets a little bit more complicated. For the Latiosite and the Latiasite, you will recieve the Latiosite in Alpha Sapphire from your mother after the Delta Episode has been completed, and you will get the Latiasite on Southern Island after being escorted by Steven on Route 118. The exact opposite will occur in Omega Ruby. Hmm… isn’t it interesting how you will catch the Pokemon whose color is opposite to that of its version. Sound familiar? Anyways, although you are able to recieve both Mega Stones in either game, you will need the Eon Ticket to obtain the Eon Pokemon that is opposite to your version. To recieve the Metagrossite, you can do one of two things. You can participate in the Beldum Event which runs until January 14th, 2015, where you can recieve a Shiny Beldum as well as a Metagrossite. If you happen to miss out on this event or want to grab an extra one, you can get one from Steven after rematching the Elite Four once.
And finally, you can recieve the Salamancite from Zinnia’s grandmother after you have completed the Delta Episode.

I really can’t wait to see what they do to Gen 6 it seems so empty. There’s also a lot of crossover hints between Hoenn and Kalos. AZ saw Mega Rayquaza first Mega Evolve and his Floette’s flower is there. Also Masuda himself said they were tying the two regions together. I really hope they don’t mess this gen up. There has to be something up with Zygarde and Rayquaza maybe Zygarde will Mega evolve similar to Rayquaza. I hope those two confront each other God of the Sky Vs. God of the Land.

I feel like if and when they make the sequel or whatever you want to call it to XY, they should make Diantha a better character. She had SO much potential!! (i.e. taking on Team Flare with you in double battles, and checking up on you more often and giving you items throughout your journey) I can only hope though.

I’ve only played Awakening and Shadow Dragon, but from what I’ve played I really like the series! I’ll pick up the VC one in the future.
Awesome! It is one of my favorites xD and probably the best. Coming from an FE fan Awakening for me wasn’t amazing tbh it was overrated but still pretty good. So if you really liked them then you should definitely try the VC one. Also if you were a 3ds ambassador back when it came out you should’ve gotten shadow dragon

Supposedly you can chain the DexNav for shinies, since people reported finding them that way. Chain fishing is also an option.

There are so many reasons why they should make a Delta Emerald.
Firstly, it’ll be the first time that Gamefreak has made a remake… of a remake.
Think about it. They broke tradition with BW2, so why not with ORAS?
Secondly, there is just too much foreshadowing. NPCs mention the Pokemon World Tournament. NPCs mention that the Battle Resort HAS PLANS TO BECOME a Battle Frontier. Wallace says that Steven left as Champion, but he isn’t battlable. NPCs also mention Juan and Palmer. What game were both of those characters featured in. Emerald. Not to mention, part of the Volcanion event follows a character named Brandon who talks about his experience with a Volcanion encounter. Could that be the Brandon present in the Battle Frontier? I think so.
I really wanna see the Delta Episode grow into, potentially its own game. And Delta Emerald could do that very well.

I think they mentioned those things to tie Emerald in and show how the events in Emerald would have worked out.
Plus, if they wish to do that, how would they explain when Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon are no longer with their current owners? I mean, if they did as you said and followed through the Delta Episode. Plus you end up capturing Rayquaza too….
I dunno, I just don’t see it. They foreshadowed those things to connect Emerald into ORAS. Pokemon World Tournament is just a mention of a Unova-similar concept, or that the next gen might bring it back, or the next Kalos game. It might become a Battle Frontier in the Kalos 3rd game.
Plus, yes it would break tradition, but really, why remake another Hoenn game? It would be an obvious money-grab, and I don’t like to think GF would do that.
Leave the Delta Episode the way it is. It was amazingly beautiful on its own. Let’s not encourage GF to ruin what the DE brought into ORAS.
I want Zinnia to reappear as much as the next person, but after her journey to discover herself in a future title. Maybe the Kalos 3rd game, since they OBVIOUSLY tried to connect Kalos and Hoenn together and the DE mentions AZ a lot. Even Zinnia and Aster combine their initals to make AZ.
I think the Kalos 3rd game will expand on that, maybe have Zinnia appear.
I hope Zinnia becomes a recurring character like Looker.
Teaching us about Pokemon lore.
That’ll definitely deepen the games.
She was an amazingly deep character. One I would definitely devote a culture/theory episode on. Her name origin just connects Kalos with Hoenn and explains her actions and her story.

That’s one thing. But when she was saying that she was watching the stars when she was a little girl she says ‘Together with Aster’, making it sound like she was a friend or sister. Plus people say she might have been the same age as your character, explaining why she likes you and treats you like a sibling.
I can also counter that, saying that sometimes, your Pokemon are your babies.
But we do know it’s a loved one and someone very close. We just can’t pin down how Aster related to Zinnia.

She also says “Thank you, dear.” to Aster, and that’s sounds a lot more mature. Yes, she mentioned watching the stars together with Aster(the last time was 11 years ago), so we have the following possibilities:
a) They’re sisters, at a young age.
b) Zinnia, as part of the Dragonids tribe, don’t age like regular people, so she could be in her 20s eleven years ago watching stars with Aster, who presumably around 5-6. Thus when you met her she’s in her 30s. I mean, she knocked you out, and she managed to break into Archie/Maxie bases.
c) Aster is a newborn baby or at around 1-2 years old 11 years ago when the baby dies . Maybe she conceived her at a young age due to an unfortunate “event”. That’s dark though, but Gamefreak isn’t afraid to go dark.
We don’t know her age for sure. It would be strange to call your sister “daughter”.

I just got Kyogre and everything was amazing! I love how it does a zelda style kind of fly by at different towns! The moment a stepped out of Tate and Liza’s gym (Which was a complete push over TBH) I heard that sound and my immediate reaction was:
WAT! WHAT IS HAPPENING?
The camera angles made it all the more epic! Its something so small but It makes such a difference! Riding down to the bottom of the Cave of Origin on kyogre was so awesome! The cutscene with Kyogre primal de-volving was incredible! (Though I watched it like-7 times trying to catch it)
It seems they really gave some development to Maxie and Archie. With Archie still dreaming of his ideal world, even when he sees the harm he’s done. In fact, all the the character development is great! Just a few extra lines makes them seem more human.
The best part though (If you play as a boy at lease)

Just saying but this information has been on Serebii for a couple of weeks now. Surprisingly enough, I have obtained every mega stone in Alpha Sapphire but one. Garchompite. I’ve been playing since day one and I still only have 645 flags (Not counting the ones I’ll collect today) and you need 1000 to reach the platinum flag and get Garchompite. Also in my opinion I find the “quest” to find the Beedrillite to most rewarding because you get a lot of big nuggets and some regular nuggets when you get to the area where it is on the Sea Mauville.

You can go to route the Safari is located and a bit past that (the fence maze) there is a gentleman named Walter who gives you a lot of money. With PMP level 3 and Amulet Coin, you get 60k per battle, and you can rematch him every so often, like 10 minutes.
I don’t think its by time though.
I rebattled all the people from route 113, went to route 11 and fought the 2 ace trainers, went through fiery path and fought the hiker on the other side. By the time I made my way back up most, if not all, of them wanted to rebattle again, so I never had to wait.
I think the rng checks every time you enter a building/route of they want to rebattle

1. You need to check if Gentleman Walter as stated by Igneous.
2. While he’s not available, chase around Interviewers Gabby and Ty in Routes 111, 118 and 120. You can refight them and they will move on to the next route on that list. You will get an average of P20,000 per fight. (again x2 if you have Happy Hour)

I’ve already completed the master rank contests three times each. You need to complete them once then beat Lisia in any master rank contest and you get Lucarionite. These contests are too easy, you can max every contest stat and then go to the Pokemon fan club in Slateport city and get a scarf for each max stat and you’re pretty much guaranteed to win every time if you have the right moves. After you complete all the master rank contests with one Pokemon, that Pokemon gets a special medal and gets a special entrance animation when you battle with it. I’ve done it with my Cosplay Pikachu and Latias. When you complete each master rank contest three times, go to Lilycove city museum and talk to the person upstairs and he’ll give you a smaller version of the Pidgeot/Articuno glass statue on the first floor for your base.

I don’t really understand the whole doubles/VGC arguement for mega audino. Why would you use your mega slot for a support Pokemon when you could use it for mega mence, bro, Mawile or kangaskhan. Also Cresslia, florges and clefable slyveon are a thing. Mega audino is garbage
That’s the point. It isn’t affected by common typing like Ghost and Dragon, but has great support moves. It isn’t offensive so it sucks. I may try using it eventually though.
Yeah it’s a great support Pokemon. It would be good for a regular evolution but for a mega, nah. There’s competition for a team’s mega slot and I think most people would want a power house ( mawile, mence or gallade) over audino

I was watching a video earlier today about pokemon games that needed sequels or reboots, and one mentioned was Pokemon XD. In it, there were very few areas to find wild pokemon. If a sequel for the Wii U were to come out, I would love it if the DexNav was incorporated to find more! 🙂
I never found my Boomburst Taillow, so I bred and traded it over. Yeah I know shame on me, but that Boomburst though. I wanted a Boomburster to plow through teams of Pokemon and I’m glad I found Telepathy Ralts so I don’t have to teach Protect to all my Pokemon.
And I managed to find a Rattled Whismur later in game. 🙂 Phoebe will be surprised when my Exploud Boomursts her team away! >:D

One time when I was playing pokemon I came across a pretty tough caterpie. I sent out my caterpie just to prove that my caterpie was better than the wild caterpie. I hit it with a string shot right off the bat, but the wild retaliated with one as well. So then I thought it was time to step it up a notch and hit it with a tackle attack. It did considerable damage but it didn’t faint. But this caterpie hit me with another string shot. I chose another tackle but it was now faster than me so it went first and hit me with a tackle. It got a critical hit and I was down to 5 hp but my tackle bested it and the battle was now over. Talk about an intense battle!

Would anyone like to participate in a Secret Santa Pokemon Trade for either Christmas or New Years?
People would enter, I would put their names in a hat, and then I would pair them with someone to trade with!
For those of you who don’t know how Secret Santa works, you pick names out of (usually) a hat, and whatever name you pick, you have to buy a present for that person without them knowing you are getting them a present.
If we were to have a Secret Santa here, people would need to have pokemon ready to trade. And these pokemon should be beneficial (so no random wild pokemon like Wurmple or Zigzagoon allowed!), with maybe great IVs and a good ability, a shiny, a legendary, and EV trained pokemon, or anything else worth while.
If you would like to participate, respond to this comment and let me know! Also let me know whether you would like this to occur on Christmas Day or New Years Eve!

Well, think of it like this. They’ve been mentioning in both XY and ORAS about a war that happened that Kalos was a part of. Wouldn’t it make sense if the region that they were at war with was next to Kalos in some fashion, especially if it took place 3000 years earlier? Besides, I doubt that GF will just let this be a mystery region, so we’ll probably get more info on it, or even be able to visit it, in the games that follow ORAS.

I’m still REALLY confused about when and where ORAS and XY fit in to the series timeline. Is Gen 6 in an alternate dimension?
Basically from what I understand, there are now two Pokemon universes. Both universes live parallel one another, they’re both the same world with just about the same people. But there are some minor differences here and there based on natural occurrences and decisions made.
Try thinking of it like this. There’s a clone of you, in a world exactly like this, but not HERE specifically. You’re both born the same time, get the same name, but the path you two follow is slightly different based on how events and decisions you make in each of your worlds you make.
So what GameFreak is trying to do is make it that Gens 1-5 exist in one dimension. A world that never GOT Mega Evolution. Gen 6 takes place in another dimension, a world that DID get Mega Evolution.
By this logic, ORAS and XY take place roughly the same time as the Kanto timeline, just in this dimension 😛

Post Nat Dex, you can encounter a few others in differn’t places while sneaking on the Pokémon, for route 101 there’s Zorua, Sewaddle, and Lillipup or did you catch them already? D:

I could definitely see that. They’ve made references to later games in the past through hints, both subtle and more obvious. Perhaps the new region could be the region that Kalos was at war with 3000 years ago. Tbh, I want to know more about this mystery region, cause it’s hinted on in XY and ORAS. Will it be like Kanto and Johto, where they’re next to each other? Or will they be completely separate, with their own features, points of interest, and back-story?

– Dewgongite in Seafoam Islands, Butterfreenite in Virdian Forest, Elecitivire in Power Plant, Arcaninite in Victory Road.
– The infamous 3,000 year old meteorite will probably be incorporated into the story, “created” Mt. Moon.
– A post game Episode involving Mewtwo and Giovanni.
– Setting our PSS icon as a Rocket Grunt
– Giovanni with a Mega Persian. (ORAS mentioned the anime with Steven acknowledging Alain, so why not have Giovanni’s main as Persian).
– Gary has the Mega Starter opposite to us
– Mr. Fuji will serve as the regions discoverer of stones akin to Steven/Sycamore
– You know how NPC’s post game ORAS start talking about a frontier being built? In kanto they can do the same thing. Post game, we find out Volcanion destroys/erupted Cinnabar Island, and NPC’s and Blaine begin to tell us that a new gym is being built on Seafoam Islands.
– We know Kanto is definitely coming. This is the first ever time a generation has been remade that already had a set of remakes in them. We have to see the new Kanto that exists with mega evolution (since zinnia mentioned multiple universes). In the Oceanic Museum in oras, it states that the Royal Unova isn’t being built until another several years, whilst Kanto’s SS Anne is currently traveling the world.

Honestly, I’m not a huge fan of the idea of Kanto remakes because I feel the story has been told.
BUT…
I could definitely see GF incorporating everything that you’ve mentioned. It will allow them to tie the whole franchise back to its roots, showing how far Pokemon has come in the past (by that point) two decades. It wouldn’t just be the Red and Blue story told over again like it was with FRLG, but it would be an updated one, updated enough that people would enjoy it even though it would likely stay true to the originals.

The Mt. Moon makes sense especially since in 2nd gen and remakes, Mt. Moon had the area with the meteorites, originally with the Clefairys with the Moon Stone and later where the Meteorites for Deoxys are. Makes perfect sense that this section occurs AFTER Hoenn and could possibly be remade next.

This isn’t something I think will happen but it’s an idea.
A region based on Egypt.
Instead of Gyms there are Pyramids or “Sacred Spots.”
Instead of Gym Leaders there would be people like “Lorekeepers” or “Preservers.”
And instead of Gym Badges there would be Artifacts.
I don’t know, kind of a wacky idea.
The only thing I pray and ask for Gamefreak to do. Make dexnav a staple in all the future games. But watch it only be exclusive to oras =(

Allows you to track Pokemon caught. If you catch a Ralts, let’s say, you can track it so you can find it very frequently. As you encounter it more and more afterwards, it can also appear with higher IVs, hidden ability, egg moves, etc. This goes for every Pokemon in the wild that you catch (or if you have it in your Dex in general it’ll pop up on the Dex Nav in it’s wild area location)
It’s like the rustling grass in Gen 5 but better.
