  2. Clicking on the article and then seeing TC has become a staff member was truly a best highlight for today, it was a little surprising seeing his cute Altaria/Swablu avatar up there but then again not completely because he is someone who truly has what it takes to be a mod, he’s been there for so many of us and came a long way xD but he has also tried helping through a too, know you can count on him to be there when he can be. I can see why he became one because he can be serious when he needs to be but also a person who takes things in stride and able to truly just sit back and have fun ^-^ congratulations TC!!! I’m truly looking forward to your future articles and in honor of you I’ll try to draw Swagold in Art Academy xD
I’m really proud of you 🙂

  3. After playing around a bit. Mega Metagross’ best set is the Agility one.

    Metagross @Metagrossite
    Adamant Nature
    228 HP/ 252 Attack/ 28 Speed
    Agility
    Meteor Mash
    Earthquake/Zen Headbut
    Ice Punch/Thunder Punch

Choose which of the last 2 moves you need more and you’re golden. I paired it Magnezone to trap Skarmory and Ferrothorn. This thing wrecks teams.

    Reply
      • I found without Agility you’re still outsped and worn down by too many things like Scarfed Landorus, Chomp and Greninja. And Metagross doesn’t care too much about priority.

Plus if you get lucky with an attack boost from Meteor Mash…

  4. Competitively ORAS Megas are badass like all of them. XY Megas will become so obsolete.

Plus all the people that laughed at things like Beedrill and Lopunny getting Megas, those things are amazing, if you don’t have specific counters they will wreck you.

Knock Off? Knock off is convenient and helps for metagross and psychic types

Or Drill Run, It gets rid Of those Fire and Rock Weaknesses and it helps for those steel types

  6. OR/AS is already set to become the second bestselling 3DS game behind X and Y if it keeps up with the pace it is going thus far. Media reports have stated that the game’s pre-order was around 239,000 copies in just two days, just short of the 260,000 pre-orders for X and Y. However, with the Pokemon franchise expanding it’s markets, I’m confident OR/AS may just beat X and Y’s massive 12.5 million figure sale in the long run.

  7. Is anyone still alive in here? Lol. Apparntly, djja’s advice of playing the demo 10 times a day to get the “special mission” doesn’t work. From reports I’ve heard… people have played for as much as 6 days straight, nothing. What are the requirements? I want to know so badly! Lol.

  8. While I was flying around with Steven in the demo version, I noticed the Abandoned Ship in the distance, yet there was no Trainer data or Location data for the Ship programmed in the demo dump. All the routes nearby have already been programmed. I cross referenced trainer names and recognized the levels as being at that point in the game. I also think Trick House trainer data isn’t programmed either. Even further proof the demo was a very early build.

  9. I wonder what that island to the right of Mossdeep is, the one seen when flying with Steven Stone? I don’t think it’s Ever Grande City. It looks like it’s really high up and can only be accessed by flying with Latias/Latios. But then again, you can only see a glimpse of it and the side where the Waterfall is is cut off, in other words, you can’t see it. I have a really bad sense of direction, so it probably is Ever Grande. But to me, it just doesn’t look like it is.

  10. “X and Y was like just a test game” <— TyranitarTube quote. I hate to admit, but I think he's kinda right. Lack of post-game and overall content in those games kinda confirms that they were testing the software out. At this point, ORAS looks to have way more content than X and Y, especially with some of the demo dump data we've seen. They started ORAS back in 2012 and this was when they likely were almost finished X and Y and had enough time to experience around with the 3DS software. I honestly think X and Y could of been way better. Elite Four rematches at the League would of been so nice.

    Reply
      • They do. They really do. I don’t hate X and Y, I don’t hate any main series game really, I just think it had a lot of points that make it be deemed one of the weakest in the series but also a lot of strong points. The Pokemon introduced were great and the new concepts such as customization and Super Training were very excellent! Don’t get me wrong.

        Reply
    • Did you really just figure this out?
Sorry, that came off worse than I meant.
But it was pretty obviously a test, as it was the first mainstream pokemon game on the 3DS, so they needed it as a test. ORAS and Z will be much better.

      Reply
    • Yeah, XY can be considered the bridge between old school Pokemon and new school Pokemon. I don’t think XY was as bad as people are making it out to be though, it had so many contributions to the future of the franchise. Sure, the post game sucked but, it doesn’t make it a bad game.

          – 3D models

I liked the pokes and new mechanics
But hated how uninvolved the characters were, how easy it was, and how long it took for the plot to form.

        Reply
          • Not really. It’s the easiest no matter what. Normally you have to walk into the 5/6 pokes level 50 – 60s that the E4 have, in this you could walk into their later 40s.

          • They should HAVE made EXP Share a hold iitem. They should have made it so you don’t get exp by catching a pokemon. They should have given the gym leaders and E4 more pokemon at higher levels. Same with all npcs.

        • EXP Share makes it harder.
Should know, I always play with it off, and I have to grind to beat Gym Leaders and Elite Four. Even some trainers are hard….especially those damn Battle Girls/Guys

          Reply
      • You are right! I don’t hate any main series game. There are a lot of strong and weak points, but most people seem to hinge on the weak points more than the strong. I mean, we got so many features that will pave the way for future games. I’m so glad that Super Training, Aime, and PSS are features to stay and that they weren’t one off. And customization will probably come back in Z and Generation VII, so it to will be a main stay. ORAS was an exception to the rule for customization, since it’s a remake of an older game.

    • “Hackers have found from the ORAS demo that there are 2 more games that use the kalos pentagon. Most likely for X2 Y2 or kanto remakes for their 20th anniversary.”- Tyranitar Tube

    • Sure, it could have been a test game, but I love X and Y. I love replaying it. So much variety in Pokemon, and the features are so nice.
      I love the Pokemon introduced.
I didn’t mind the lack of postgame since I could always replay it if I wanted to.
I just didn’t like how they introduced so few Pokemon, that’s my main compliant.
I love Lysandre and how he wasn’t truly a villain but someone who wanted to change the world with brilliant reasons, but in the wrong way. It’s how most people are, they don’t know they are the villains because they have innocent reasons and a great purpose but a wrong way of doing it.
I find it weird that people don’t like it so much, but then again, we all have different opinions and I’ve been known to be quirky in my own way. And I go with the flow a lot, I rarely don’t like someone or something and I don’t like focusing on the negatives, just the positives. I am not good at giving critique sometimes because of it xD
I really love it, and no amount of reasoning will dissuade me otherwise.

    Shiny Saturday Question
Have you ever found a shiny in a horde while EV training except it was not the right horde pokemon you wanted and so you could either catch it and reset the EVs or Run and keep the EVs?
If so what was the Shiny Pokemon?
    And what did you do?

Route 111 The Desert (one of the few Rocky Places)
Route 119 the rainy forest place (has my favorite Secret base spot)
and lastly 113 (the Volcanic Ash place)

        • The nostalgia will flow definitely at those two town/city (even tho i said route XD)

Im treating this like Origins so seeing evergrnade city will mean Gallade and i finally made and are going to give it our all at the hoenn league

  17. Haven’t been able to get anywhere in the demo. 🙁

    The rundown:

Day 1 (demo playable in US): I play up to where Orlando and Steven flies off to a cliff with tall grass and a cave up ahead. I was in a battle with a Linoone, then I forgot my 3DS was on later that night after I closed the 3DS to do assignments/chores/etc.

    Turned it off.

Day 2: Busy with classes. Didn’t play

Day 3: Had a headache or was tired (I forgot which), didn’t play.

Day 4: Busy with classes. Didn’t play

Day 5 (now): Attended an event at college and watching videos. I’ll soon get back to work and then later (hopefully) play the demo.

  22. I know this has likely been discussed on here before, but when you press Start on the Demo title screen, I noticed the words “Press Start” appear to be written in Braille for a brief second before cutting to Mossdeep City. Very interesting…

  23. As a competitive battler, inner focus isn’t that good. Most teams you’ll face don’t use flinch hax. Sure there’s togekiss, but gallade won’t even survive an air slash and its typing is bad against it.

  24. Urrgghh…when you set up a Metagross perfectly to sweep the opponent and then you miss 2 Meteor Mash’s.

*sigh* Please make Meteor Mash and 100 Accuracy, 100 BP move with a 30% chance to raise attack…so Metagross can be OP

  25. OK about those replays. I’ve never seen LO Togekiss…especially not on the ParaFlinch set where you want to Flinch the opponent to death. Dunno how your going to manage that when life Orb will kill you before you manage anything.

  26. With ORAS being a fresh start basically with all of the new megas to choose from, I think I might actually get into competitive battling. It’s always sounded so fun the way you guys talk about it, but I’ve never wanted to try it out because there wasn’t enough of a push for me. Also, still no luck with this secret option. I don’t even know what part I’m supposed to SR at XD.

  30. “Hello 4chan, I work for Game Freak and I helped develop the coding for the Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire demo. I work on a team that is no part in developing the full game, and was working separately to develop the demo, apart from the team that is still developing the full game.
I’ll start with what most of you probably want to hear. The removed Mega Evolutions were Flygon, Zangoose, Seviper, Slaking, Milotic, Butterfree, Ledian, Regigigas, Xatu, Sandslash, Krookodile, Bisharp, Mandibuzz, and Braviary. Game Freak executives were aware of data mining in video games, so I guess they wanted us to hide their biggest surprises.

The Battle Frontier is also returning, and is featuring the Pokémon World Tournament. Also, you have actually battle against Scott, the owner of the Battle Frontier, to advance the story. This is near the end of the game, and his signature Pokémon is a Mega Slowbro.

The last thing we removed was Team Magma/Aqua sidequests at the end of the game, with battles against admins from the two teams and even a battle with Team Flare grunts. We removed this because they use some of the hidden mega evolving Pokémon.

So like I said, Game Freak is trying to keep as much of the full game they are developing as secret as possible. If they added anything new or took anything from what we coded, I am completely unaware. If I hear anything new or something changes, I will come back as soon as possible.”

this is obviously bull shit but I want

  31. It’s very interesting to note that Team Magma/Aqua Grunts are programmed in during the post-game supposedly with Level 51 Pokemon. And Slippery Sceptile made a good point earlier, this person named “Zinnia” in the coding has Dragon type Pokemon in her party and the Trainer Class title of “Lorekeeper”. She could be protecting Rayquaza and the Sky Pillar from harm or even after Rayquaza, in a similar capacity to Teams Magma and Aqua. What are your guys thoughts?

  32. It’s very interesting to note Satoshi Tajiri was supposedly the one that came up with the concept of Braille in Generation III. Indicating that during RS’s development, he had some kind of role. And like I said earlier, when you Press Start and A, for a brief second, the words “Press Start” appear to be written in Braille. It sorta confirms it’s back and is a really neat touch that they put in the demo! I hope Regigigas has it’s own little chamber similar to the Regis in Hoenn and continues the lore on from the originals with the Braille in it’s chamber starting with: “This is what we feared…”

  33. Pokemon Art Academy is $29.99. Add 1 from the third nine and you get 300. Pokemon Art Academy lets you Draw Pokemon. D is the first letter in Draw and is the fourth letter in the alphabet. 4 minus the remaining 8 from the third nine is 4. Slide the 4 onto the 300 and you get 340. 340=Whiscash’s National Pokedex number.
