Wow. Seriously? The fun is in Online Play. I don’t play online but I know it’s a ton of fun. OR/AS is still on my horizon. That’s going to be my game of the year!
To me, it’s too similar to Brawl except with new characters and stages. Nothing has stood out to me that’s revolutionary or “must buy” other than it’s been 4+ years.
Even tho I love Pokemon. Same could be said. (Pretty much for every game series.). Games usually don’t stray far from their origins. Of course it’s going to be similar to Brawl. The game was success why not build upon it.
No, Pokemon is different. We always have a new region, new pokemon, new characters, new team, etc. the formula is the same, but so much newness and graphics improvements make it better each gen. Not the same with Smash.
New region = new stages
New Pokemon = new characters
New characters = New bosses
New team = New features
etc etc
SSB3DS is way too similar to Brawl.

Only in terms of graphics. X and Y were no improvement mechanic-wise much at all. The whole game was incredibly easy to run through with all of the new experience gains and lack of trainer pokemon (rarely more than three), there was really nothing new incorporated into the battle system, poor story compared to what B/W B/W2 had, etc. etc. …
If you seriously can’t see the improvement between Brawl and SSB4, you probably didn’t care much for the game in the first place. The speed is far better and more suited for a competitive level. The main attraction of the SSB games is the multiplayer aspect, and they made that far better. Brawl was very slow in combat pacing, and the online was horrible(lag). 3DS, although not perfect, improved on lag and increased the speed to fit a faster fighting style.

So, apparently the Tower of Smash leak may have some truth to it. Lots of stuff from it confirmed and the only thing against the leak is Ridley not being playable DLC as well as Event Matches coming back. They could of made that part up to help possibly give the leak some doubt to get Nintendo off their backs…

I find it very interesting how Battle Frontier has it’s music programmed yet no location data in the game or names of the Frontier Brains. Same with Abandoned Ship and I think the Trick House. But both of those two (Trick House and Abandoned Ship) are obviously in the game. Apparently, some Scientist in the demo mentioned the Scanner and Sea Mauville in the same sentence, making some people think the Abandoned Ship was renamed “Sea Mauville”. Yeah. No. It’s nowhere near it either. I also heard about a Food Court in Mauville from the demo. Apparently, it could be very similar to the stadiums from Nimbasa City! They mentioned battling. Those matches with the Street Thugs could be at the Food Court. Seems to me like Mauville is taking on the role of Lumiose and Castelia Cities from the newer games in a way.

Why would you have a fit over not being able to rematch gym leaders? Most of us will be spending our time MMing or competitively battling. Gym rematches are the least of my concerns.
I’m not really competitive. But you’re honestly right. I’ll probably either be spending my time doing PokeNav Plus Rematches, the Battle Frontier/Resort, Elite Four and Wally Rematches, Super Training, Aime, and Secret Bases. This old sailor has a soft manly spot when it comes to Aime. Lol.

You can meet Aarune and Lisia in the missions. They sometimes appear on the islands. I’ve seen Aarune twice. I think it’s after you complete the demo a total of 10 times. Not sure what the requirements are.

I really hate to say it, but Sakurai and Nintendo should honestly stick to making the Smash Bros. series for only the console systems. I thought that the 3DS version was gonna water down the Wii U version but after today’s Direct, I was reassured that it won’t be doing that. Event Matches, Special Smashes, Stage Builder, My Music, and most of those goodies from Brawl and Melee are back as well as several new features. The 3DS version kinda sucks now and looks unfinished compared to the major superiority that is now Super Smash Bros. Wii U. I am so excited for all of those features to come back and to get Smash Bros. Wii U in my hands this November! And Mewtwo for character DLC proves that the 3DS version can muster up a tiny bit more content, at least for that. And that more DLC could possibly be on the way.

While I would love for 8 player matches to be online, It’s already super laggy enough as is with the 3DS online and for the Direct on the Wii U version, they recommend that you have a stable connection. Probably be just as laggy as Brawl if not, a little worse than that. A lot of people tend to blame Nintendo for their servers being shit when it’s the person on the other end whose connection is often shit. Sometimes, I get times where the matches go flawless with little to no lag. Others, I want to quit and end up getting banned for 9 minutes! How is that fair by the way? They know people have bad internet connections. Why get banned for it temporarily? It really does not make any sense to me.

Mario kart 8 is a bit different than smash though. It’s programmed so that it actually guesses where everyone will be on the screen before it actually happens, so the game is fluid but characters can be jumpy and your actual location can be off from what others see.

I was going to do it regardless. Technically speaking, it’s still “natural” since Synchronize is an ability you can get early in the game. However, I do understand why Earthen would think it’s cheating. Then again, wouldn’t releasing a pokemon to catch another one of the same species be considered cheating as well, just because it didn’t have the right ability? IDK. I’m just going to catch them in the game. That I can at least do.

I will alternate my main Mega Evolutions between Altaria, Sharpedo, and Camerupt. And sometimes Medicham. It’s tough having an entire team that can Mega Evolve and the three of which I mentioned (Altaria, Sharpedo, and Camerupt) get excellent stat boosts when they undergo Mega Evolution! This is not a competitive team per say but I will use it for fun a lot. I take great pride in my in-game team.
