With all battles finished and over, I wanted to compile Pokémon used in PJT’14 and write an article about it. This isn’t the last article on PJT’14, though. We’ll have a few participants writing their own report on their teams and opponents!
Top 10 Pokémon used in PJT’14

To me, this comes as a surprise, but at the same time, not so much.I remember before the tourney started, a lot of people were talking about how everyone was going to use Mega Kanga or Mega Gengar, or some other pretty OP stuff. In that sense, The fact that Aegislash was the most used Pokémon took me by surprise.(although Aegislash is also in Ubers). With that being said, we all know how good Aegislash is. It’s versatile, while being very punishing to those who get caught up in mind games or make the wrong decision. Judging by the items, most went with the offensive type, trying to shave off some Pokémon, whether it be a wall or sweeper, in a reliable fashion.We do, though, see more defensive items handed to Aegislash, such as Leftovers. I assume that this type of Aegislash focuses more on switching into good match ups to wreak some havoc, and then switch out to come back out later.

100% Charizardite X
5 out of 5 Charizards decided that Char X was the way to go. The winning team by Maple featured Char X as it’s main offensive Pokemon, and it’s worth mentioning that 4 out of the 5 people who used Charizard passed round 1 in the tournament, suggesting it’s greatness.Most of the Char X’s in the tourney sported a Dragon Dance set, with Earthquake as their 3rd attacking move aside from Outrage/Dragon Claw and Flare Blitz, presumably to take care of Heatran and deal some damage to Azumarill.

Somewhat of an odd ball on this list, those who used it seemed to aim for an edge in luck whilst tanking favorable hits. Besides the obvious Kings Rock, we see that a lot of the items are helpful in providing an opportunity to take an extra hit, meaning more times to Air Slash. I’m surprised that Sitrus Berry was not used by anyone, as that provides another way of getting that extra air slash on your opponent.

I prefer the new ORAS interface to the X/Y one. It looks so much better in terms of design.
Also the improved Graphics give it an amazingly sharp finish on the edges of the boxes.

No, Mega evolution is in all regions, but wasn’t known? Implemented? Until Gen 6, but it is there.
The games new story focuses on Mega Evolution which judging by the fact there are more characters that can use it, more is known about it so enough time would have to have elapsed from its discovery in XY to its wide use in ORAS.
Completely a theory though.
But it wasn’t described as being discovered in XY, they said it had been known for many years, just not to many.

The amount of actually usable pokemon in those specific types were low, and literally everyone probably is using the same things.
Get over it, it’s incredibly immature to get furious and deep over a loss in a video game.
If you quit, you’ll have no chance at winning.
If you continue, you’ll have a chance of winning, even if you think it’s ridiculously small.
If you train, practice, and stop having this inferiority complex, you’ll do better and have a higher chance at winning.
The point is, unless you quit, you’ll still have a chance of winning, no matter how small it is.

I thought about putting Grass/dragon but if we get mega meganium this game I doubt it would be grass/dragon since mega sceptile.
Keep in mind though that it can’t hold Life Orb to make use of Sheer Force . Maybe a better ability. I don’t like Leaf Guard either. Maybe Healer for doubles or Regenerator.

Healer is rubbish even in doubles. Flower Veil would be nice though.
I thought of Healer based on its dex entries lol. Maybe it can end up with Grass Pelt or something.
I hope they add environments for online battling. Allowing abilities like Grass Pelt to get some use.
Imagine being able to choose Grassy Field, or Volcano, or Beach as battling locations. Think of the possiblities

Love No Guard on Typhlosion. 100% accurate Inferno and Focus Blast which means 100% burn >:)
Mega Meganium looks too weak, an ability like Magic Bounce or Regenerator would make it better.
