Official Site Updates; Demo Reveals New Mega Evolutions

The official site for Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire has been updated with the details we saw in November’s CoroCoro issue and more!

Mega Steelix & Mega Glalie

Revealed in the demo are two new mega evolutions

Mega Latios & Mega Latias

A trailer of ‘Soar’ in action, ie: ability to fly over Hoenn, can be seen here on the main site.

Mega Pidgeot

Pidgeot Mega Evolves into Mega Pidgeot. The gusts it can whip up with its tough and well-developed wings are powerful enough to smash huge trees.

Upon Mega Evolving, its Sp. Atk gets a great boost. Take good advantage of its zippy Speed stat, and you can pummel opponents in no time flat. Its No Guard Ability means its attack will never miss—nor will attacks used against it. You can be sure of dealing damage even with moves that have low accuracy. – Official Site

Mega Beedrill

Beedrill Mega Evolves into Mega Beedrill. The poison it produces from its four limbs all work instantaneously, yet the poison it emits from its tail is slow-acting. It uses the former to prevent its foes from fleeing, and the latter to deal the finishing blow.

Mega Evolution gives its Attack and Speed stats an explosive boost. Adaptability is an Ability that increases the power of moves of the same type as the user from the standard 150% to 200%. Put it together with this Pokémon’s powerful Attack stat and aim for massive damage! – Official Site

PokéNav Plus

  • DexNav – Can show information about Pokémon in your location, chaining Pokémon encounters can result in finding ones with Hidden Ability and rare moves
  • AreaNav – Map with additional functionality such as trainer information, berry locations, and secret bases
  • BuzzNav – “TV” style blurbs about Hoenn and other players you encounter via StreetPass
  • PlayNav – Allows access to the Player Search System, Super Training, and Pokémon-Amie

          • and yet people don’t listen
            every forum or message board i read about Mega Milotic is all water/Fairy water/fairy/water/fairy just so effing annoying

          • because fairies are whoring their way into the meta and they cannot differentiate the properties of Fairy type

            in other words they think just because its pretty or cute automatically considered a Fairy type despite it has zero attributes of a fairy

          • Stereotypes. It has no reason for a fairy typing unless the move tutors give it Fairy moves. I don’t see that happening. I just hope GF doesn’t cater to the fanbase. It’s good as it is.

          • Not every Mega should get an added type. Milotic can’t learn a SINGLE Fairy-type move, not even Charm. However, I do not want it to become part Dragon, for it would be weak to Fairy-types. Adding Pixilate wouldn’t make much sense either.

            IF it gets a mega, it will be either be mono or part Dragon.

          • I’ve been pointing that out for months!
            it doesn’t even need a mega
            Machamp still hasn’t gotten a Mega and Alakazam did
            Beedrill and Pidgeot are still standing alone with their counterparts not receiving a Mega

          • I guess the whole Gallade-got-a-mega-after-Gardevoir-got-one had something to do with it. Now they expect the counterparts to get megas. As I would like a Mega Froslass, it may not happen. Also I’m totally cool with Milotic not getting a Mega.

            It’s still my all-time favorite. Others became favorites just because they had megas, and it’s not right.

          • well they did broke the Stone theory but yeah everyone excepts every counterpart to get Megas (which most have unfortunately)
            Tyranitar=Aggron
            Houndoom=Manetric
            Mawile=*grrr* Sableye
            Pinsir=Heracross
            Camerupt=Sharpedo
            Gardevoir=Gallade
            Latios=Latias

          • I’m still suspecting Golem and Machamp will get Megas, but it’s becoming slimmer and slimmer. I’m curious to see whether or not Megas will continue to appear after Gen 6.

          • But he’s still getting something
            he won’t care what Mega Milotic is as long as he gets it

            but if he gets nothing (and see Mega Excadrill) he’ll crumble

  1. I foresee Dusknoir and Shiftry getting Megas. So far all the elite four members except Sidney and Phoebe could potentially have megas after you beat them the first time. Granted, Sidney could have M. Sharpedo and Phoebe M. Banette, but Glacia could have M. Glalie, Drake could have M. Salamance, and Steven M. Metagross of course. Here’s to hoping they do receive Megas and are more difficult the second time around like in BW and have Mega Shiftry and Dusknoir. Duskull was Shuppet’s counterpart, no? I think that hints at it enough.

    • Dusknoir is Mega Dusclops
      since he got the 4th gen evo while nanette got nada

      and not to sound snarky or whatever but i doubt they’ll give Elite Four Members or Gym Leaders regular metas (i doubt everyone even knows about Mega evolution)
      Protagonist
      Rival
      Evil team Leader
      Champion
      (Korrina doesn’t count because she introduces the player to ME and doesn’t use it in official battles)

  2. Okay so in the demo Steven says this about his Metagross “I think the day will come when i will be able to give this Metagross to you”. I know the shiny Metagross will be an event but perhaps the big surprise that you get for playing the demo everyday is that he gives you the Metagross in the demo…. just seems like a weird thing to put in the demo if the shiny metagross is an event and not something that Steven gives you either in the main game or the demo.

  3. I love seeing mega Milotic comments. 8)
    It’s already been shown battling a mega evolution, and I stay true to the trend. Earthen, prepare to get f*cked over.

  4. If I was smart I would have registered a bunch of email addresses this morning…and gotten myself a bunch of demo codes to hand out to anyone with a UK 3DS

  5. I love that Mega Swampert gets stat boosts all around: going by mines it got 29 sta points in attack, 14 each in both defences and 7 in speed and sp.atk so i guess its:

    Atk (+40)
    Def (+20)
    Sp Atk (+10)
    Sp Def (+20)
    Speed (+10)

    so looks like Smogon got it right.
