Hmm.. I remembered that Hoenn has a lot of biblical references, so i looked up dark clouds in the bible & a lot of it was things like:
“The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; Let the many islands be glad. Clouds and thick darkness surround Him; Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.”
“God parted the skies and came down; thick darkness was beneath his feet.”
It probably has nothing to do w/that dark cloud thing in Hoenn, but i found it a bit interesting :3

I think the Behemoth & Leviathan were in a different book (those were the beasts i was referring to)
The Book of Revelations speaks of Angels blowing trumpets when something catastrophic happens (b/c the world is ending or something like that), One blows one when a volcano erupts, one when a comet falls, etc. (Theres a total of 7 trumpet blows). Hoenn has catastrophic weather events, which reminded me of part of what i had read in the Book of Revelations.
In the bible there was only one beast.(unless Saten is counted)

Random but the Hoenn legends are my favorite of all the regions. I’ve always liked history and mythology, and the fact that Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza are ancient Pokemon is just so cool to me. Especially when you get to 0:50 in the video.

If he’s talking about Xerneas and Yveltal, then yes.
Yveltal can be seen as a dark creature (Destruction is usually characterized by dark) and Xerneas as light (Life characterized by light)
And they were involved in the war, the NPC from Anistar said that was a legend.

Wait! guys so i was doing research on leviathan and Behemoth(the ones groundon and kyogre are based on) and i found this “Behemoth and Leviathan were the two Primeval monsters”. key word PRIMEVAL! Like i dunno PRIMAL! So this is where they got that from! If you want a source just let me know and i will provide it.
Ahh that’s definitely where they got that from then. Primeval means “Ancient, of the earliest ages” and Primal means “original, before the appearance of life on earth” HELL YES
