Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire Trailer and Details

Nintendo’s Digital E3 was broadcast earlier today and with it the company has shared a handful of details relating to new Pokémon games. Below you can find our coverage of the news, expect more throughout the day with in depth coverage just around the corner!

Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire

And full trailer has been shown for Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, showing Hoenn completely remade with 3D environments. Launching worldwide on November 21 in the US and November 28 in Europe!

In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Kyogre and Groudon are able undergo a process known as Primal Reversion. This allows the two Pokémon to revert into Primal Kyogre and Primal Groudon, and allows them to draw back power from nature and gain an even larger power boost. When undergoing Primal Reversion, Kyogre receives a boost to its Special Attack stat whilst Groudon become Ground/Fire type and gains a boosted Attack stat. Both Pokémon also seem to gain a boost to their abilities, although it’s not possible to confirm this yet.

Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will bring players even closer to discovering the secrets behind Mega Evolution, with players seeking out Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving and unlocking their incredible potential. More Mega Stones are said to be hidden across the Hoenn region. It also appears that there may be a link between Mega Evolution and Primal Reversion.

Below are a selection of screenshots and artwork showing the updated Hoenn region and the two legendary Pokémon undergoing Primal Reversion.

  1. Because of Mega Sceptile’s back facing the opponent, I think of Mawile as a hipster now.

No, I’m not changing my name to HipsterMawile. We have enough hipsters here already.

  2. I’m annoyed that in Europe we get ORAS a week later than the US and Japan, but I guess it’s karma for getting 22 Jump Street earlier xD

  3. DANG IT! HATE YOU NINTENDO! Could’ve put ORAS off one week until Black Friday but nooooo you had to make it one week earlier. EXCEPT FOR EUROPE OMG!

  4. Wasn’t it said that Kyogre and Groudon created the land/sea, fought and then went into a long slumber? What if the ones that originally fought were what we now call Primal Reversed Groudon and Kyogre, and when they went into their slumber they lost their original power? Then it would make sense for Team Aqua and Magma to revert them back to those forms and regain their power and once again create sea/land.

          • These two extremely powerful Pokémon clashed in an epic battle that
once sent Groudon into a long slumber within the magma beneath the
planet’s crust and drove Kyogre into a deep sleep at the bottom of the
ocean floor. The awesome transformation is a result of Primal Reversion,
when Groudon and Kyogre reclaim their original power from nature’s
energy and obtain even greater power than they already have. The power
within Primal Reversion is still being discovered, as well as what
connection may lie between Primal Reversion and Mega Evolution. FOUND IT ON a certain beach and water type themed website

    • Boy!!! I gave up learning about the legendaries long ago!!! This is charge of this, That in charge of that, but that one over there could also be in charge of that because it’s also a GROUND TYPE!!!! I’M DONE!!! I just think of legendaries as pokémon that do stuff!

    • When they Revert they gain their power back from nature, so I’d guess they lost their power doing the creation stuff, and Reversion brings it back. So I guess what you’re saying is it in a roundabout way?

  7. I think we will have another trailer before the Invitational confirming veterans, Wario, Ganondorf and maybe more. There is a 1% chance that we could see a newcomer at the beginning or conclusion of the event.
