Scans are surfacing of the latest CoroCoro issue and it’s a doozy! Mega Evolutions of Sceptile, Swampert, and Diancie have all been revealed along with other misc information 🙂
Details
Pokémon
- Mega Sceptile is Grass/Dragon with the ability Lightning Rod
- Mega Swampert’s ability is Swift Swim
- Mega Diancie’s ability has yet to be revealed
- Groudon and Kyogre’s new forms can be translated to either Primeval or Prehistoric. These forms appear to come from “nature’s energy”.
- The subtext for Groudon and Kyogre suggests new moves.
Characters
- New character art for Brendan and May
- Steven returns and is researching Mega Evolution
- Archie and Maxie are still leading Team Aqua and Team Magma respectively. Their Admins also return. All have received redesigned character art.
- Players will still have access to the Acro and Mach bikes (whoo! mach4life)
- Brendan and May will use the new ‘Mega Bangle‘ that will be used for Mega Evolutions in battle

Mega Diancie is the first gen 6 pokemon to get a Mega. And it’s base form hasn’t even been released yet.

If you look closely, you can see an EXP bar. This basically confirms that the Mega does not belong to steven or that it’s a demonstration of Mega evolution.

It’s not an EXP bar. Why would they show you the foe’s EXP bar? It’s where the foe’s health should be. It’s the poor image quality.

poison and bug as well, the former being more common cause of the advent of fairy types
Grass types in general have awful weaknesses. All that’s happened is it loses Fire weakness, gained Dragon and Fairy. It’s gonna be destroying Dragons tho xD

well, if what I heard about sceptile’s mega being special oriented is true, it definitely needs more special moves

I actually think he has one extra. Gets rid of fire but dragon is added and so is fairy
Dragon Fairy is added, Water is quad elec is quad (resist) fire s neutral, grass is resisted even more… he is balanced in a way
I think Mega sceptile will be OU despite the ice shard and gale wings talonflame. Lot’s of OU pokemon have 4x weakness ( dragonite) and sucky ability(florges) but there still good 🙂
True.. But not a mixture of both bad ability and meh type combo. It’s limited assets of special attacks is a problem too
Well, Dragonite has MultiScale.
That’s the only reason it’s OU.
Mega Sceptile is going to be mainly used in doubles, due to Lightning Rod.
And also, it’s speed will put it in OU.

these are consider leaks, this mag is for Japanese only, probably a few only got the book before its fully out to the Japanese public which is off a few days, so yea these are leaks
Exactly. The magazine is only available in Japan. So, the rest of the world technically shouldn’t know about this. There is new information, new megas and screenshots. Not to mention that the magazine is not publicly released in Japan yet.
i mean i know we live in the world of the internet and all, but some people(especially japan) still like to keep things for them and them only and the rest of the world finds out when they ready to show it,it just sucks when things are revealed way before it should sometimes

also lightning rod preventas all electric attack like thunder wave so it cant get apraysis
paralysis lowers a pokemons speed aka they are prevent sceptiles speed from lowering

On the bright side. Only Glare can paralyse Sceptile
