Special ‘Fancy Pattern’ Vivillon Download Coming + PGL Events

It has been revealed that once the Global Trade Station, or GTS, reaches 100 million trades a Vivillon with a special wing pattern will be distributed!

There are also a variety of new events coming to the PGL, via the official site:

June 6-8: Think Fast Competition: Single Battle
This newly announced Single Battle competition will be the shortest and the fastest yet. For those who have a tough time setting aside time for battling, this competition is perfect for you. Use this chance to quickly and easily experience battling other Pokémon players from around the world.

Late June: International Challenge June
In the international arena, we will continue to run preliminaries for the Pokémon World Championships to help determine who will get to represent their country at Worlds! Master Trainers of the world, take part!

July: Eevee Friendly Match (tentative title)
This Rotation Battle competition will be limited to Eevee and its evolutions only!

July: All Star ☆ Battle (tentative title)
This all-star Double Battle competition will allow you to use any Pokémon you wish, including Legendary and Mythical Pokémon! Plus, for this competition only, you will also be able to use Pokémon that you have brought from past games in the series using the Poké Transporter!
Note: You will only be able to include a maximum of two of certain Legendary Pokémon and Mythical Pokémon in your Battle Box.
Note: Diancie will not be eligible for entry in this competition.

August: Think Fast Competition: Double Battle
In this competition, you will not get to see your opponent’s team before the battle begins. And with only one backup Pokémon allowed on your team, each contestant will be limited to three Pokémon total! This will be the fastest and shortest Double Battles from the time you send out your Pokémon until the battle is over.

Autumn: Fairy Type Cup (tentative title)
Look forward to a competition where entry will be limited to Fairy-type Pokémon. The battle format is to be determined.

Autumn: Halloween Party (tentative title)
In a special competition for the Halloween season, we will have a special Single Battle competition for Ghost-type Pokémon only. And that’s not all—every contestant must include Gourgeist in their Battle Box, as well!

    • you can get a trial for rpg maker xp (30 days) but if you set your clock back the trial comes back c:(so its basically unlimited, but you have to turn back your clock to when the trial was active every time)

          • So Pokémon Essentials is only a starter pack for RMXP? And is that what you’re doing right now? Setting the clock back every 30 days? Or did you buy it?

          • Essentials is just that (it provides the right engine, tiles, sprites, etc. Otherwise it would be an actual RPG). And i set back the clock b/c i dont trust cracks that much

          • And if you complete your game while using the free trial, if it ever expires, does your game do too?

            But the game does not disappear if your trial expires; all the files will be there just as if the trial was still active (and you can still access them fine)

  36. I’ve been ruminating about this for so long. What if the X and Y plot structure mainly focused on AZ and Team Flare as a backdrop? AZ is heavily featured and helps you along the way, even saving you from Team Flare who have cornered you. X and Y could have had such an EPIC tale of adventure and glory yet GF threw it all away. The plot was all over the place, trying to complete everything at once.

      • Because not one single game in the Pokemon franchise can be called the best or deserves the most accolades and commendation. Yes, DPP began the Pokemon fad all over again with the lack of sales with Emerald and huge time gap between releases but all in all, each game has it’s negatives and positives.

    • Pokemon Game with the Most Plot Potential should be Black and White. The story in that game was better than X & Y. The worst champ should go to Iris. I mean just train one Ice Type and you won! There’s some needed fixes in this list.

          • My parents are doctors. Surgeons to be exact. Knowing what they do! I plan to also have a job in the medical field. (P.S. Your family gets the money flow.) Also, I’m the youngest in my family. My brother is 19, sister is 17, and my other sister is 18. So, lots of pressure! XD

            However, I play a mean Sonic Heroes. But only because it was my game back then. Now, I would probably suck.

            Prior to 2010 or so, I was a Pokemon-only gamer too.
            Then I got my first Mario game on the DS, and I started liking Mario.
            Then I got an XBOX last year and started bashing skulls in Call of Duty, so, yeah.

            However, I was gonna get SSB since I have never played that. Blasphemy, I know. But just for the record, I am terrible at everything xD

    For those who do not know what Jasper is, it is a regular Pokemon game written in the form of a professional story.

      • The new season began this April. The new season so far has a mixed reception for me, useless comedy, too much comedy, and less mature battles, etc. I recommend you watch it but don’t expect to get blown away.

  116. I got the Animal Crossing posters :3 I’m trying to give representation to all major Nintendo franchises (for me personally) in my room, and this covers Animal Crossing. I hope I’ll be able to reach Platinum status next year…oh, who am I kidding: Mario Kart 8, Wii Party U, maybe Tomodachi Life, Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS, Hyrule Warriors, and other E3 surprises. Nothing to worry about XD

  117. My garrulous hobnobs about Pokemon with friends was what drove me into the world of Pokemon. Initially, I’ve never even known about such a thing until one of my best friends talked to me about it and played it in front of me. He was playing Heartgold, the newest game to have come out at the time. Odd enough, when I went to the store, I didn’t pick Heartgold or Soulsilver… I picked Platinum. Somehow, the game drew me in more than HG and SS. My love for Sinnoh began that fateful day when I picked the “older game” instead of the “newer game.”

    PS: I later bought DPP and HGSS, lol.

    • My first Sinnoh game was Diamond, but it showed me more than what Hoenn did, it wsas entirely new, and my brother hadn’t played it first since he quit. I love Sinnoh because of it, and it’s why it’s my favorite region. And generation as a whole.
