PJT ‘14 — Dates & Competitive Announcements

PokéJungle Tournament 2014 Dates

It’s been over a week since we last gave you all updates on the PokéJungle Tournament. When we published that last update we told ourselves that within two weeks of it being live we’d decide on a time period for the tournament to run.

Up until now we’ve only declared that’ll it would take place over summer. Today however, we can give you a slightly (and sadly only very slightly) narrower time frame: Mid-July through Mid-August. This period means the majority of competitors are able to easily arrange and partake in battle, thanks to summer break.

Within another two weeks from now we plan to have a firm start and finish date, as well as dates for individual round periods. We will also announce the final formats and layouts for each round in the next update; we’ve made some changes since we initially announced them!

  3. I came up with name ideas for gaming shows that will pop up on my YouTube channel. I take a lot of inspiration from Caddicarus and the upcoming Rerez (he only has 8K, look him up), so I want to try this format sometime.

“Valiant Variety” and “One-Stop Xatu Shop”

…I don’t even have a working mic or editing software. Oh well! I’ll try to fix it tomorrow. Now I departeth!

  4. The best thing about DPPt was the updated day/night mechanic. You might call the game boring, but they sure are the most relaxing games of them all, especially at night.

I surely hope they sneak the time mechanic back in for ORAS. It was the biggest thing missing in Gen III.

  5. What I did like about Hoenn’s plot is how both aqua and magma thought that there plot’s would both work perfectly, but when they coincided, there world almost gets torn apart. I also liked how Archie became nice in the end, but Maxie stays evil. It kept it interesting. And I think Archie made the best appearance in the anime. And we can not forget how awesome the aqua vs magma anime episode was.
All-through-all, both teams had a meaningful goal in which they both try to benefit from, but ends up in a catastrophic mess (first in-game cut-scene btw) that has one of the most beautiful cutscenes ever created. And also, their anime episodes were amazing. It also had a very a,azngly put-together plot in the games, which are what I’m most excited for.
So don’t bash aqua/magma, I think they deserve to be called “Awesome”

    • I thought at the end of Emerald they both realise the error of their ways.
All teams have had very interesting characters/leaders
Maxie – the cool, chilled out gentlemen like figure.
Archie – the almost mirror image, more outspoken, more devious in a way.
I loved how these 2 were portrayed as almost opposites in the anime episode.

Cyrus – he was just irrevocably insane…nuff said.

N – another calm, cool character. He has mission but wants a peaceful way to resolve it.
Ghetsis – another almost insane character. Wants to separate people from pokemon and doesn’t care how he goes about it.

Lysandre – someone you can’t help but feel sorry for. He realises mankind’s biggest mistake and in an attempt to rectify it he has to become the bad guy.
