Citing “irreconcilable differences” and a “love of rumors and speculation”, Serebii Joe has decided to prematurely terminate his relationship with our site. No one is more shocked and hurt by this news than myself, but I think we can get through this together 😉

Hope you guys liked our little April Fools’ prank! The layout will be staying for now, because it is a nice shade of green and the Celebi does look kinda cute. Let’s hope for some real news this month!

  39. Hello commenters of Pokejungle. I often read over you guys here, I work over at IGN and I have some insight on some details that should get you excited on the new Pokemon games this year.

    -There are 28 new Pokemon, no new legends or starters. But a previous legend receives a mega evolution. Eevee and Dunsparce receive natural evolutions.

    -Professor Sycamore once again gives you a kalos starter (lvl. 10) before you board the Couriway Train. Each one is unique, in they have their hidden ability this time.

    -The game will be released as 2 versions. Pokemon A and Pokemon Z, two new physical 3DS games. But both will also be released as downloadable content, where the story mode will differ greatly itself even more if you add the content on to a previous X or Y save file.

    -Team Flare returns with a new female leader named Malva. She has intentions on making the ????? region go to war with Kalos, to rebuild her own land of beauty.

    -There is a cool mini sequence that plays out if you take Diancie to the moon dials in the ????? region.

    -There is a side mission where you have to help a person that was turned into a Froakie become a human again.

    • I personally think it is. It has 3 repetitive numbers! It’s a pyramid ID. Or if it ends with an “8” thats a great one as well. I actually thought of you last night by the way, I was considering starting my digital version of X and was going to SR for a shiny kalos starter.

    • it’s impossible for me to hatch a 5iv shiny munchlax. It’s annoying cause then you have to let a poke hold an incense, and one with everstone 🙁 I couldn’t let one of the parents hold desiny knot cause then the munchlax’s would hatch 5iv with random natures lol…

      So I had to settle for a 3IV Shiny Munchlax 🙁 [since all babies hatch with 3 random 31 ivs]
      thankfully other babies can hatch 5iv without the use of holding items like Pichu, Igglybuff etc. I hate the ones like Bonsly, Munchlax 🙁

      IT’s about a lower-class man’s struggle through the horrors of his work life and social life. He goes through everything we go through, but no one ever recognizes it because he’s just a lower- class man. He has no money, and tries to find happiness in his friends, while the truth is, his death is inevitable. He doesn’t have enough money to take care of his disease, and each day he edges closer to death. All the while, he learns that the real horror is ourselves. We become so obsessed with our outside-image, where it all should count on the inside, where trust is, where caring is, where happiness is. He then realizes that he doesn’t want to die. Even though he knows death approaches, he needs to show everyone what true happiness is. It doesn’t matter if he has no money, it all matters on the inside.

    • The death toll was high. I remember when Lil sparky was a pup, He would alway swake me up early to play some r/s/e. Until today. When he found out that they were making remakes for them, he unleashed his true She-wolf that was hidden in his closet. Sparky isn’t the same any more. Now, he just watches as the death toll rises. And rises. Sparky knows that it was his job to get the newspaper, but instead he looked to the sun and said “Oh senpai… My conditioner is lowly.” He then looks back into the rising death toll. That is, until he found out it was a joke. He never spoke again. Through old age, I watched as lil sparky slowly rotted into a sour mean stuck-up shell of his former self. Until one day, he walked to my old Gba, stared my sapphire game in the eye, and then stared into the glimmering moonlight.The dark rays shined on his now old, glimmering grey fur. “Oh senpai… ” He whimpered. “I apologize.” He then jumped in front of a bus. Not any bus. A bus with an add for the remakes that had just been announced.

  171. I’ve been given an opportunity to play the next game in the Pokemon franchise- Pokemon W. Apparently, it is the prequel to Pokemon X and Y, and it centers around a much larger and more inhabited Kalos. That is… before AZ’s weapon.

    I’ve been given the opportunity to play 30 minutes of the game so far, and I was impressed. The game’s mascot is an unnamed Pokemon that apparently assisted AZ in the Great Kalos War 3000 years prior to X and Y.

    The game takes place before the Kalos War, and also partially during it as well.

    I was able to make it up to Gym 1, and it was located in Quadcorne Town, as it was known prior to the war, and is now Aquacorde Town. It was a town divided into four main portions symbolizing each season of the year.

    And yes, Seasons make a return in Pokemon W.

    Pokemon W is its beta name, and may not be the name they ultimately decide to use.

    The first gym leader is named Xaled, a boy who specializes in the Grass-type. He has a very interesting looking gym. It is decorated with vines and flowers on the outside, and it has a puzzle where you hop over flowers and get teleported into different flower based rooms. The trainer levels range from 9 to 17. There are three trainers alongside Xaled in the gym.

    Trainer 1 is a Pokemon Ranger, an Aroma Lady and a Youngster.
    Pokemon Ranger Kara uses Shinx and Electrike, at levels 9 and 11.
    Aroma Lady Judith uses Pikachu and a new Pokemon, Kobalt, a Poison/Electric snake Pokemon, at levels 9. 10 and 12.
    Youngster Jason uses Tynamo, Mareep and new Pokemon Thryu, a Thundurus-looking Electric/Flying Pokemon at levels 10, 11 and 13.

    Finally, Gym Leader Xaled uses Heliolisk, Karthryu, the evolved form of Thryu and Elekid, at levels 13, 15 and 17. This was a difficult gym!

    That is all I was able to get up to. You start in Vaniville, Route 1 is much expanded, and the starters types remain Fire, Water and Grass.

    The professor is not Sycamore, and her name was Professor Spiraea.

    Other than that, I have no additional information to leak. I will be getting the chance to play an additional group of demos on April 19th, April 24th, May 2nd, May 20th, and June 5th. The announcement of the game will be around the date of June 11th, or July 2014’s CoroCoro. Other dates when I am able to beta test are unknown to me as of now.

      • You are unable to play as AZ thus far.
        Team Flare may or may not be making an appearance in the game. I am uncertain of this due to the fact that I was unable to get into the game too far.

    • Why does Xaled specialize in grass pokemon, have a grass decorated gym/puzzles, yet him and his trainers use all electric pokemon? -_-

      • Forgive me.
        The gym is an Electric-type gym and the exterior is decorated with lights of yellow and grey color. There is also a statue of a Pokemon, an Electric/Fairy-type that has a big correlation to the game.
        The interior has you move around on beams of different sizes, and you have to time your maneuvers carefully. There are also times when the lights go on and off, so time your maneuvers properly there too.

      • To be honest, I was so young by the time Partners in Time came out that I wasn’t even aware of its release and got it randomly at Costco. Same thing happened for Drill Dozer, it was on sale for 7 bucks at Target when I was about seven years old. If I never made the decision to buy it, I would be an entirely different person. The game is literally in my favorite 4 games of all time.

        • My bro begged our mom to buy him Partners in Time from Walmart one day. It’s funny. We knew nothing about it, but it was a Mario game, and he wanted it.

          He was quite young though. He must have been six years old since he’s about one year younger than you. Anyway, I played the game for him, and he watched. I enjoyed it! When he got older, he played it on his own, and ever since then, he’s been playing the sequels while I watch. LOL the tables have turned now. He’s the one that’s super good at them, but I enjoy watching him play them anyway.

          • No…not really at all. I play video games all day, participate in the culture and know more about it than any 15-year-old should. I also have social anxiety so I VERY rarely have friends at our house. On the flip side, my sister is at dance classes all day, as girls do, and has friends over ALL the time, which does more than pissing me off.

  282. A woman in the Azalea Town Pokémon Center mentions that before Poké Balls became standardized, everyone used hollowed-out Apricorns to capture Pokémon.

    If Z turns out to be a prequel that takes place 300-3000 years ago, this is how we’ll catch Pokemon XD. I really think the next game will be a prequel now, specially since stuff like Love Ball Hidden Ability Eevee can be traded to other people if it has the pentagon, whereas a Diancie can’t be traded. Both are technically illegal.

I haven’t been on in a month but it’s not a big deal nor did I make it one. There’s no reason to seek attention from a community that already cares about you and gives you attention.   305. You guys can continue to tip. It was never confirmed that tipping doesn’t help find shinies, I was only saying that I haven’t tipped in a long time and still manage to find them. Junichi said he was going to tell us what tipping does and never bothered too.

    • I’ve read stories where people tipped the Poet Guy in Kiloude, ran in to the safari and found a shiny on the 3rd poke in… but I haven’t tipped in a month or two and still have luck. At this point I just feel like we’ll never know lol.

  374. Good morning, afternoon, evening, ladies and gentlemen of Pokejungle.
    I have been given the chance to play a demo of the latest games in the Pokemon installment, known as Pokemon Ruby 2 and Sapphire 2, which as of now are beta names.

    The games take place 15 years after the events of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, in a much more expanded Hoenn region. I’ve been given the chance to play only 2 hours of the game, and I was only able to beat Gym 1 because of the expanded content and so much to see. I cannot remember everything, but here is a glimpse of what I have to leak from that demo:

    I played Ruby 2, whose mascot was Mega Groudon. I was able to understand from the plot that Mega Evolutions have recently been discovered in Hoenn by Professor Birch, and now Team Aqua/Magma have taken control of Mega Evolution and are controlling every Mega Evolution in Hoenn to take down trainers.

    The starting town is not a town, nor a city. It is a village called Birch Village, dedicated to Professor Birch and his discovery of Mega Evolution (well, aside Sycamore). It is Professor Birch’s birthday, and you have just arrived back in Hoenn to greet Birch and see how he’s been holding up the years you’ve been away. Time passes and Team Aqua/Magma order a Mega Linoone/Mightyena to attack Professor Birch and take him away. Your mission is:
    1. Find Birch.
    2. Take down the Aqua Megas/Magma Megas, and destroy the Aqua Stone/Magma Stone.
    3. Conquer Hoenn!

    Your starters, Mudkip, Treeko and Torchic, are given to you by a much older May/Brendan. Your Pokedex and 10 Pokeballs are also given by them. Rollerskates are now optional, and running shoes are not given, but rollerskates are. They are customizable, as I was able to notice in Tarea City.

    Birch Village has the Birch Pokemon Lab, a Pokemon Center, three homes, one for the player, one for May/Brendan and one for a codename “EIXAM” or “EIHCRA,” which backwords spell Maxie or Archie. This is unknown as of what I’ve played, as far as connections to the plot.

    Birch Village can be exited one of two ways. Going North will take you to Route 1, and later another city seperated by ocean, or East, which will take you to Route 2 and Tarea City.

    Birch Village is located where Ever Grande City would be located on the map, except the water around it has been moved to the Northwest, by Fallarbor.

    The Hoenn map has tripled in expansion, from 16 to 48 total cities and towns. Some anime-exclusive areas may be accessible as well, as I studied the map a bit and noticed Oldale Ruins as a location.

    Pokemon Contests, Seasons, and the Day/Night cycle will happily be making a return.

    The first gym leader is located in Tarea City, and is a Poison-type Gym. The gym leader’s name is Sharac, and it is a male leader. His gym has the dominant colors of purple and black, and are decorated with all kinds of poison and gas effects, you could say. I loved how Nintendo paid attention on the details, because you are forced to wear a gas mask before entering. What a moment.

    The gym is one story, with 3 trainers and Sharac. The trainers used a lot of Koffing, Gulpin, Croagunk, and Gloom on their teams.

    The levels ranged from 9 to 21, which I thought was relatively high for the first gym. Maybe an expansion in max levels? This has not yet been determined yet.

    The gym leader’s Pokemon are Venipede, Roselia and Swalot, but I could not remember the exact levels. He awards the Venom Badge, allowing all Pokemon up to Level 30 to obey. He gives out the TM Throw of Bane, which honestly wiped out most of my team.

    After I had beat Sharac, the demo was over, and so was my time. I had an absolutely wonderful time playing, and I’m very happy to have shared this with you. Expect more information in July, because I was invited to play an extended demo then. Thank you all for reading, and be excited about the newest games in the franchise!

  482. So, I played all the way up to Beanbean Castle in Superstar Saga! The game looks absolutely STUNNING on the Wii U with its bright colors. You’re also given the option of pixel blending, scans of the original instruction booklet and Miiverse support!
    I’m going to play some Advance Wars later tonight as well to see what it’s all about.

    AND Mario Kart 8 has the N64 Rainbow Road, the entire game looks stunning.

    Where would you keep your keystone and how would your Pokemon wear its mega stone?

    I’d either use a Mega Hat (a explorers hat/cowboy hat) with the keystone in the hat’s band
    or a Mega Buckle a metal socket embedded in the belt buckle

    as for Garchomp (I didn’t like the necklace) I would use a Armor similar to Alan’s Charizard but bronzed

  555. If Rayquaza/Groudon/Kyogre get Mega’s in the remakes, I want their new abilities to be:

    -Rayquazanite – Flying/Dragon (instead of dragon/flying) with the ability Aerilate. That Extremespeed & Hyperbeam though!!!!

    -Groudonite – Ground with the ability Tough Claws or Solar Power cause of all his great physical moves and both are very fitting. lol.

    But I just can’t seem to think of an ability for Kyogrenite. How can it can come in with Drizzle and then benefit with a new ability? Maybe Torrent? It’s fitting? Or maybe someone can come up with one lol.

    • I’ve always wondered this as well. Like did it make its flying stab do a little bit more or what? But either way its still unique & cool imo… It has to be a hint at something for future use.

      Like how in D/P we could walk with a cute pokemon in Amity square.. then in HGSS they perfected it and let us walk with a Pokemon. Then in B&W they had Meloetta be the first Poke to change forms during battle, then they perfected it in XY with mega evolutions which did the same thing. I think flying/dragon is a tester for something.

    • It was the opposite for me. Most of the people I went to Middle School with went to the rival school, and that excited me because I hated almost all of them. Now I have some pretty good friends in this high school…but I still don’t like many of them. I guess I could be considered the “kid who sits alone” although I don’t really.

      And as for you, Dicie, you will learn the same lesson I did. People you hold dear to your heart are the hardest to leave but the easiest to remember. Come to me if you need anything. 🙂

          • Comments would suggest what you’re posting is your reaction to what I have posted. Half of the things that get posted just ends up as general chit-chat, which the chat or forums are for, not comments. It’s sort of difficult to explain why it’s annoying for staff. :/

          • No, I COMPLETELY understand, your reasoning is logical. But the chat just goes too fast and you don’t have the freedoms of Disqus, and there are some weird people there (not you).

          • Yeah, whereas this gives you the option to open the comment and you can see who they’re replying to.

          • Yeah scroll down 🙂 On chat it’s either “last 35, last 35, last 35, last 35, last 35, last 35, last 35, last 35” or not at all.
