Dae asks: Fan fiction

Dae was calmly sitting behind his desk on this sunny Spring day. What article shall I write next, he thought to himself. Oh, I know, and he opened WordPress and clicked on New Article. From there he wrote: Dae was  calmly sitting…

Let’s quit this recursion, shall we? I doubt my writing is even good enough to make something better than your run-of-the-mill fanfic, so I won’t even bother.

But back on topic: fan fiction. Some love it, some hate, some write themselves and others wish it to burn in hell. You have the story padding type, the type of questionable content and those that never should fall into a kid’s hands. But I really want your opinion on it. Do you write yourselves, and if so, would you mind to share it with us? And if you read, what are some of your favorites, and what are some examples that should be put on the wall-of-shame for setting the genre in a bad light? Keep examples PG-13, or else your post will be punitively deleted and I might temporarily ban if you if I’m in a bad mood.

If I can find the time next week I’ll write my entry in Meet the team, a new series where you can get to know every team member a bit more personal. In the meantime, be nice to each other in the comments, quit mentioning the device and quit asking if someone’s there. It will become obvious if someone’s there when they reply to you.

  1. Fanfiction is a… weird subject.. Sometimes there can be good ones, but they are stuck between the bad ones and the really bad ones. I’ll be honest here, I’ve always wanted to write fanfiction, just not for the Pokemon franchise. 😛

  2. Never really read a fanfic so can’t say much about it XD

I got Pokemon X thanks to that promotion and TCMets 😀 I chose Froakie as my starter. But I want to use Lapras :/ Which do I choose?

  3. I think Fan Fiction is great, but the main problem is that people over sexualize it and the plot essentially becomes two characters sexing each other.

  4. I don’t read fan fiction because I prefer to read about a character’s development from the original author and not someone else, i.e. I’d like the character’s development to be official.

However, I like the idea of it though and I’m happy that it allows many fans to expand their creativity. Art is complicated, yet simple subject to behold and it’s always good to practice it and continue with it.

  5. I gave away all my reset bags on here, and so now that I need one I dont have one. I’m hoping someone could help me like I helped the people I gave mine away to.

  6. I’ve come up with a new type of evolution for Gen VII!

Phantom Evolution: When leveled up in the Distortion World (assuming Sinnoh’s confirmed in this Generation), the Pokémon, if applicable, will evolve and gain the Ghost Type.

Applicable Pokémon: Pure Type Pokémon with a low BST.

I know that Pokémon can still level up in the Distortion World by EXP from Cyrus and Giratina, but I’m trying to find a way around it.
