Firstly, that interview is months old lmao. It’s appearing in an new magazine, but the interview is dated, you can tell from him saying they are planning to release an app called Pokemon Bank… And he avoided the question about DLC, he said they won’t ever sell Pokemon… he didn’t say “we won’t ever release DLC… even if its free”

If they released completely new games this year… they probably wouldn’t sell as much because people will think Pokemon is turning into the new Call of Duty releasing games every year.
Now if they released a free new region as DLC, and forced us to Bank our current Pokes until we beat the new elite 4 and can withdraw our old Poke’s back, they can benefit from the 5 bucks people are putting into Bank (I know its forcing us to use the cloud but it’ll be worth it) and it will get more people to go out and buy X and Y versions

1. it takes away profit from the games
2. Free apps on the app store have in app purchases and stuff and ads but this is dlc it diffent
3. They waste a whole bunch money of modeling and rendering on a free big Dlc would also make GF lose profit
You can’t simply put in a DLC region. That’s at least 4 gigabytes of data.

Pokemon X is 1.4G, a 3DS cartridge can take up 8G
it can fit 3 more regions if they wanted too

Game freak already said no DLC the only thing I can think of is them adding new pokemon in like X2/Y2 and then releasing an update for x and y to allow compatibility

They can gain profit if they want to but they can gain MORE loyal fans to the franchise and make people happier by releasing it for free. Many companies have free DLC.
