Long ago, back in the year 2013, Samual (moving), Sam and I discussed our mutual love of gaming outside of Pokémon and talked about opening a site that covered all gaming news. Although I bought the domain in March of last year, I didn’t start working on it for several months. We opened up the forum to some members from Mt. Moon Community and our Facebook page (fan perks I guess) and got some initial feedback. Then I got busy again and we started covering news related to Pokémon X & Y. After that was over though… and our semester had finished… we began work again on the site. I had wanted to reveal this on the first of January, but we decided we wanted more time to fix things 🙂
What is Retry Level?
A community-centric gaming site
Although there are a lot of game news sites out there, I felt that they lacked a real sense of community integration. Over the years, PokéJungle (the site, not me) has really inspired me to focus on new media in a way which draws the reader in and makes them a part of the site they’re visiting. To this end we’ve created a gaming site which will (eventually) feature content hubs based on both news AND community threads. They will open in several weeks after we’ve had time to fill up the forum a little.
An independent unbiased source of news and commentary
There’s also the issue of independence which is an important one for me personally. I’m not a fan of sites which are run by large corporations and are driven by how much profit they can milk out of their media properties. I’m not interested in plastering ads on every inch of Retry Level and I want our team to be able to fairly review and comment on games without working about reprisal from advertisers. There have been several incidences on gaming sites in which a reviewer’s score has been called into question.
What are some cool features?
Steam integration
We’ve invested in some plugins which allow our members to login with their Steam IDs, as well as areas of the site on which you can view other gamers who are currently online and what they’re playing. Big plus for PC gamers (like myself).
Twitch integration
Game streaming has become a phenomenon. We allow our members to add their own streams so other members can watch and comment on them. Currently the PC and PlayStation 4 support Twitch streaming and the Xbox One will as well within several months.
News from your favorite PJN staffers!
If you like how we do things here, you’re going to love Retry Level as well 🙂 The tone is a bit more professional, but we’re definitely the same writers and with the same intense passion for Pokémon and gaming! A cool thing about Retry Level for us is that we’ll get to see some of our regular commenters here also post on our gaming site. Which will make us very happy 😀
We’re just getting started!
It’s true! So don’t hesitate to offer feedback! We’re guided by your opinions so be sure to share them. This is definitely an exciting time for us and we’re very happy to be branching out into the general gaming field. I hoping you all will support us and help Retry Level to become a successful gaming news site that rivals any of them currently out there. We can do it!
Thanks for all the support, not just in this endeavor, but also right here at PokéJungle. Without the experience of running this site and the encouragement of all my visitors I wouldn’t be who I am today. I really owe you all a lot and everyone here means so much to me. You guys are great!
<3 PJ
5 IV Staryu…. with Illuminate…
Igneous used Outrage!
*facepalm*
Igneous hit himself in confusion!
Goodnight everyone!

site is too heavy, my pc is explodin
yeah it takes a while to load each page up for me
same .-.
GIMME. NOW.
I didn’t cause a war or two while I was gone, did I?
someone else did
It’s in the past. Let us not remind ourselves.
Let it be forgotten.
u didnt
I hope not lol
you were out, ifya wanted to start a war well
say it to me before you leave
Hey pipe what is going on??? Archey was out during what???
well, since im a nintenfag/PCer half of the articles will be kinda
ehh
No use to me?
…pretty much site seems sony crazy
Yeah…
They need some nintenfag as a writer
Freelance time…
SO
Steam login or Acc?
I want to use some cool avy yaknow
Also, like 3 minutes to load -_-
I wish the Ability Capsule has multiple uses and doesn’t cost 200 BP. 🙁
yep.. totally pointless now
Yeah… I have a 5 IV Staryu, but it has Illuminate instead of Natural Cure (And you know how hard it is to IV breed a genderless Pokemon). I don’t want to have to get 200 BP to change a single Pokemon’s ability…
HA capability
I dont know why but Retry Level loads way faster on my iPad than my desktop
it destroys my PC it starts glitching and blinking
Pipe look at my message below
Cant see it, where?
Nevermind now look at my message a little above about voltsonic and what happened here
with the iPad i have no problems but on pc, the site begins to shit itself half of the time
Hey! What happened?? I see some messages about a war below and hear something happened with voltsonic???? What happened??
So long, my planet needs me *explosion*
Well
What the fuck happened today, im so confused i need explaination
That’s what I want to know what happened?????
VoltSonic decided to go troll-postal
I just saw this lol XD *refresh* HE BASICALLY COPIED MY MESSAGE I TOLD HIM OMG XD sweety.
Who was he talking to??? Someone please tell me what happened??
He was talking to djja. VS has been telling people to die recently.
Hes sure fucking depressed
He went to posts from 9 days ago that didn’t even mention him just to tell people to die, something is clearly wrong with him.
And there is nothing we can do about it except get him off this freaking website.
Or embrace him and show him love and compassion.
That is my plan. And it will turn out to be his weakness.
Well
This was totally unecesary
Also Djja u should learn too, we should be a lil bit more serious bro
… this was my comment XD he just copied and pasted it and added “DIE”
MUAHAHAHAHAHA
U wont get the joke -.-
LOL Wut. He makes no sense.
omg he repeated it twice in the second one XD
Uh…… Guys…. I don’t want to say this but…
I GOT ANOTHER SHINY STARYU!
Are you Masuda-ing?
Nope! IV breeding. These are accidents.
Lucky duck.
Well, I have the Shiny Charm, so I think it helps.
*sigh* You guys didn’t ignore VoltSonic, did you? -_-
Im so totally confused
I’ve had it with this…
What?
Your period
yesimmakinperiodjokes
You and me, we’re going on a Troll Hunt. Target: VoltSonic
Whenever he comments just post this http://stanfordflipside.com/images/45Hand.jpg and tell him to talk to it.
I’m going to say “I love you <3" whenever he comments. This'll be a blast.
Theres only one way to destroy a monster like this, we need Godzilla
*takes shotgun and reloads*
And i.
He told me to die.lol
THAT…you know.
You should have read my responses to him. Pretty funny stuff.
I’m waiting until I can take a crack at it. I want to show him my affection. XD
I saw that he read your post saying that you’d tell him that. Cause he commented that you were a fail troll or something. Idunno. But do it.xD Before he set his disqus to private i saw that he was following alot of us so that’s how he knows when we post. But yes, smother him with your affection.
My body, my body, my body is ready.
The body of kevin, his body is ready.
I can’t believe that I am actually waiting for a troll to arrive. This is totally inverted.
Just follow him on Disqus so you can see when he posts.xD
It’s probably past his bedtime. He’ll show up tomorrow.
he went back to the “what pokemon would you be” and copied and pasted my old comment to him and added “DIE” XDDDD
He did the same to me, too, and on other old stories. Personally, I think it’s funny. I just read it, laugh, flag it, and move on.
oh…. i forgot to flag it :/ oops.
Happy Friday, you guys!
Technically, it’s Saturday where I am! xD
same xD
Lol. hence the slowpoke.
I feel bad you came to this website during the time of voltsonic :/ I’m sorry u had to see this. Happy friday tho :DD
Espinoso has to be the greatest pokemon I’ve thought about putting on my team.
is espinoso a chespin?
Nope.
Chesnaught?
Nuh-uh.
wut be-eth it?
Mmmm… I’m not saying. Espinoso is Spanish for thorny though.
Ferrothorn.
It’s probably that Roserade, isn’t it?
Yep. XD
Huzzah!
ferrothorn, maractus or cacturne?
Genovia got it.
support/hazard or offensive
😡
I just made an account over at Retry Level under the name of ValiantPixel (the name I use for every video game account that is not specific to any one genre, ShinyXatu is my moniker for Pokemon-related websites). So yeah!
Yaybro
Sounds like me. Musicfanatic53 is for my (unused) youtube and stuff, while Defensive Bastiodon is for pokemon.
With OCD, I need some kind of organization of accounts. I either use ValiantPixel, ShinyXatu, or my full name on websites now. You’ll never see xXUBERHAXXORXx360NOSCOPEXx from me.
Those really long names really annoy me. I get exhausted typing out my Basti username.
My eyes get irritated just by reading what I typed XD
I can’t seperate the letters and it gets all jumbly and stuff! God it’s so annoying!
My usernames are either PoG (Like here), my name, or TheBatmanFanatic (usually this one.)
That escalated quickly.
…Lolwut?
From PrincessofGenovia to TheBatmanFanatic.
Ah…good point 😛
I guess there is a disparity, but I’ve got many sides.
I understand.
Coherence level: Robin in a sandwich
How dare you put Robin in a sandwich!? After he delivered a Fresh Water to Detective Chico too.
#Anchorman
after seeing that victiny darkrai jirachi and manaphy will be in this movie I’m really excited :DD
It really seems like they’re trying to incorporate every generation in this movie.
They’re kinda cramming them in there XD We need some Deoxys and Celebi up in here!
there has to be a reason they used just randomly chose those pokemon! And im excited to find out!! 😀
Mega Darkrai confirmed.
Well, not really at all, no.
Well, one of them is going to be distributed as an event at the movie.
why are they so random? why TWO sinnoh pokemon?
SINNOH CONFIRMED
no.
pikablu
con-
firmed
Celebi was already given out with Bank. The other Unova event legends were already given out recently. As for Mew, Shaymin and Arceus, I have no clue. But still, NO HOENN LEGENDARIES.
HURRRRREN CUNFURRRMED!!!!
mega darkai with dark/fairy typing
I don’t think it should change type if it gets a ME.
but dark/fairy its a cool typing, fairyresist dark weakness
It would be too OP, especially since Darkrai is already a beast to begin with.
he is already in ubers lol but you are right
No typhlosion?
nope but there will be lots of feraligatr
Fuck you feraligtr you always get the spothlight
I know! Where’s Meganium?!
Yah, they only appeared in like 2-3 episodes…
All right, what’s the whole VoltSonic conspiracy?
Don’t ask, just grab a gun and shoot blindly. There’s a troll in these woods.
Really? All I can see are tumbleweed…
Im suprised it has nothing to do with me lol
GUYS
OMG
GUYS
MAYBE THEY CHOSE DARKRAI MANAPHY JIRACHI AND VICTINI BECAUSE THEY WILL ALL GET FAIRY TYPE MEGAS
ERMMGH
Or for the fans to choose one for distribution, as they have stated…
why would they make a whole movie with 4 completely random mascot pokemon just for a distrubution? the give away is for the movie.
The 4 are going to appear in the short, the Klefki one.
EMAHERRRRRRRRRRRR
DARKRAYR WIRRL LOOK HERRL
Why fairy-type megas?
Thats djas hummor
Cause its Djja
Anybody have a Clefairy they’d be willing to trade?
without the flames, typhlosion looks like a ground type…
MEGA TYPHLOSION FIRE/GROUND AS ITS TYPING
Oh god please

YES! We need a new unique typing! fire/psychic is too over done :/
and give him grassy terrain right to perfect right right RIGHT

Sorry bby, I had to.

Nope. I lied. But my third eye didn’t, because it doesn’t.
THE THIRD EYE DOSENT LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIE
Nope. Fire/Fighting Mega Evolution.
Gamefreak planned this all along to turn Fire starters that wasn’t part Fighting into Fighting type.
Shhh
