The Pokémon Plus & Pokémon Minus Rumors

Although I’m covering this news story, it’s by popular demand. I don’t believe any of this and I highly recommend that you do not either.

The site DualPixels (which has since crashed) claimed to have gotten “information” from a leaker about Generation VII. They claim:

  • Two new games are codenamed Pokémon Plus & Pokémon Minus, could be final
  • The battle system is going to be re-worked completely and simplified
  • New region is based on Southeast Asia, may have islands
  • GameFreak is trying many new ideas out that they’ve been holding onto
  • “Three new starters with no names: Water evolves into Water/Steel and is a squat, teardrop shaped humanoid that has a jar filled with on its head as it evolves it grows taller and the jar bigger until it needs another set of arms to hold it on it’s head. Fire evolves into Fire/Fairy and is a tiny cute goat with fire blowing out of its horns, it’s horns and look evolves more menacing until it has curly ram like horns and a motorcycle hot-rod-like look. Grass evolves into a Grass/Electric and starts with a leap for a face with a nubby root as a body and evolves until it grows into an electric producing palm tree with each flower petal having a different face.”
  • “The main legendary for Pokemon Plus is a Shi Foo Lion-looking Psychic/Ground-type that has multiple faces, the Pokemon Minus legendary is a Ghost/Fairy type that has two dashes for eyes and is a hurricane-like appendages with many arms and hands.”
  • “The new “Team” villains are described as a bunch of “Sohei Zelots”-types who have discovered the player’s best friend as a reincarnation of a special type of person who only is alive every 100 years. They believe the old system where people were given a Pokemon egg and they stick to that Pokemon until they die and who’s function in society dictate what role that person is. They are against the “modern” trend of Pokemon Trainers and capturing multiple Pokemon and are making a holy pilgrimage to evoke the old Legendaries to turn everything back to normal. They keep the player away from their friend, saying the special one (who can do amazing things like mega evolve Pokemon without the use of a mega ring) only love is that of Pokemon and not people. It is planned to be reveal later that for the special one to fulfill their role in society they must be mortally sacrificed to awaken the legendaries.”

  5. This rumor kind of contradicts itself. It supports the fact that parts of the game will be simplified such as battling, then says there is an electric palm tree and Pokémon with multiple faces. Sounds a little too complex to me.

  7. Here’s my theory on the next pokemon games. What I think is that the next pokemon game, which I think will involve Zygarde, will have new pokemon in it with other broken up pokedexes like in X & Y and will take place in another area of Kalos we haven’t seen yet.

  9. I agree with the region to the east. They could include Zygarde because he’s in the middle of the two regions. AND does anyone remember that at the Lumiose Press, the editor was gone searching for a legendary Pokemon in the mountains? They never revealed the editor, so maybe the next game will show what happened?

    • its ok D: i gotta get used to these guys too. i only finished them yesterday and only had 3 battles so far, this being 4. i won only one so far so the more using, the better we can adjust to them XD

  15. When I think of future Pokémon games, I ask myself, “How would this affect the anime”. IMO, Plus and Minus don’t seem to coincide with the anime, and as we all know, the anime and the games must coincide with each other to sell well. It’s like a symbiotic mutualistic relationship for animals.

    Which is why I don’t see Hoenn being confirmed until after the XY sequels are released (so the anime’s story can flow smoothly).

    • that really does make sense like in gen 5 there was diamond pearl the plantnime(sorry for bad spelling) then in the anime they did this stuff revolving around Jhoto to coincide with heart gold and sole silver(gold and silver remakes) so they will probably take the same route.

    if u think about it will take ash awhile to complete the kalos league so that why the hoenn remakes will come to smooth the flow of the anime so the game arent like head

  24. When you think about it plus and minus, the names I mean, can happen. Even with being like minun, and plusle. I mean with X and Y, its associated with Unown.
