New Pikachu Spin-Off Announced

NHK has finished airing and revealed a mysterious new Pokémon game, starring Dr Watso Pikachu! This spin-off seems to be some creepy detective game. Not much is known, except that it will feature a Blue Pikachu that apparently can talk (must be due to Fukushima) and who is the villain. The developers used motion capture to give Pikachu better facial expressions, but I have no idea where they got the Pikachu to do that from. More details will likely be released in the following months/years.

Also mentioned was a Pokémon Trozei (Link) sequel, but it appears to be abandoned, or maybe it will see life as an eShop only title. Stay tuned for that too!

 

OLD: The teaser trailer released last week and has teased an all new game with Tsunekazu Ishihara appearing on the show sharing some details on the game that is currently in development. We’ll provide details ASAP!

        • Chikorita is something of an unsung Pokemon IMO. The anime made Bayleef so unbelievably adorable that I recently used a Chikorita in a HG playthrough (which is still ongoing btw). It’s actually pretty powerful once you get Magical Leaf. It’s just a matter of knowing how to use it.

          • Gamefreak seem to have two option for Grass starters: Bulky Quadruped with good defence/defensive moves, or Speedy attacking ‘mon. Exception is Chesnaught who’s kinda both, just not speedy.

          • it did plus chikorita was one of the difficult starters cause you had flying and then bug for the first 2 gyms! (i only had chikorita until i got a a scyther! so i had to really raise chikorita for scyther cause it kept using furry cutter! ( in gold, i had heart gold but didnt like it so i sold that!)

          • You sold HeartGold? HeartGold is awesome though. Like, second/third best main series games. About equal to BW2.

          • yes i know, 6 months later i actually wanted to play it so bad, but i sold it cause heart gold was NOTHING! like gold version! (the one for game boy color) the music was not of my taste, until i got that item that switched the music back to how the original game had it but by that time i was done with the game so what was the point of it! Heart gold and fire red are not in my fave games!

          • TBH Monferno is cooler than Infernape- but then again I’m biased towards the middle evos, they’re my favourites. They’re cool and awesome whilst still retaining a degree of cuteness, and without being overly embellished and bulky looking. The only final evos I like as much as/more than their Middle evo are Feraligatr, Swampert, Empoleon, Infernape and Greninja. Possibly Chesnaught too. The rest have much better designs as middle evos.

          • what about! blaziken!!! BLAZIKEN!!!!! Blaziken is my favorite started along with Meganium! i didnt pick oshawwoot cause its final sprite in the game looks bad but once i saw the anime i had to give snivy up for an oshawott! but then x and y happen and never got an oshawott!

          • i totally loved that balziken in gen 3 could learn mirror move but in the recent games their is no sign of that move, is that move still among the x and y games or was it forgotten??

    Personally, I love Mega Mewtwo Y because of how natural and powerful it looks for its small size. Like a true, Mew baby.

    • evidently, it’s sorta like how you can talk on mic on a ps or xbox game, like cod. if youre trading with a stranger, you can ask them the thing youre looking for or talk to them during the battle. i’d recommend it only with friends o.o; dont wanna encounter some troll who acts/talks like cod players XD

  12. Anyone know why sometimes when you talk to Nurse Joy in XY, there are different angles? She might be up close in one shot, up high in a bird’s eye view in another shot, or in a far away slanted angle in another, and so on.

  21. So I was going to catch Cresselia in Platinum and transfer her to White 2 and wait until December to transfer her again to Y. However, my Platinum game won’t even load on my 3ds (the game cartridge doesn’t show up at all).

    What’s the lesson I learned? NEVER BUY A USED GAME FROM AMAZON!!! It may work long enough to do everything post game. But that’s as far as you’ll go. What I would give to see my party members again.

    • Have you tried blowing the cartridge? Seriously, my platinum didn’t work when I first put it in last night, but I just took it out, blew on the cartridge and in the game cartridge slot in the 3DS and put Platinum back in- it loaded fine. Granted, mine wasn’t a used game, but still.

      • Tried that. Didn’t work. It’s like the cartridge is dead. The good news is that it is only my party members I’m upset about losing. I didn’t have pokérus or shinies in there, so I’m not bummed out about losing that since I didn’t have it anyway. I’ll recatch my party members in Gen VI. They may not be the same as my buddies from Platinum, but it’ll suffice.

        My party members were: Torterrra, Kingdra, Staraptor, Drapion, Froslass, and Cradily. I can catch Horsea, Starly, Skorupi, and Lileep in Y. I can catch Snorunt (female) in Hoenn Remakes/Sequels (we know it’s going to happen). Turtwig will be difficult to get, but I’ll manage.

          • Thank you. I would like that. I thought of something. Instead, I think I’ll reuse my Platinum team in the Gen IV remakes with new abilities and moves of course. I know that’ll take forever to happen, given the fact that “HOENN CONFIRMED” seriously hasn’t been confirmed yet.

            I’ll still take your Turtwig someday, possibly. I like to use starters from other people or those that have been bred.

      • Sadly I don’t have one. My bro does, but he’s at home, and I’m in college. I’d have to wait until Thanksgiving Break to try that out.
