This is now our X & Y coverage post, while we’re still covering, below will be a compilation of all our discoveries and findings from the game, which will later be compiled into our latest project (stay tuned)! It’s worth noting that we’re taking our time with the games, we’re keeping an eye out for interesting changes and updates, and we also have a full team of staff working away in the background gathering information for our upcoming project.

Remember, if there’s anything you’d like us to check out please let us know in the comments, and feel free to talk to us in the PokéJungle Chat (or access it by clicking the green tab in the bottom left of this window) as well as Liking us on Facebook, Following us on Twitter and registering on our forums. Please remember to follow our Community Guidelines too!

Oldest updates are at the top of the list, and latest at the bottom – the second spoiler contains story details.

NOTE: Disqus comments have been fixed again. Hooray!

UPD: We’ll continue our coverage starting next week. Most of the staff have beaten the game and expect opinions article to pop up the coming days. My very own review will hit around Wednesday. Also, keep your eyes out tomorrow October 20th for a very special announcement regarding Pokejungle. It’s the project I’ve been teasing for a while (unrelated to the other mysterious project). What could it be? The first person guessing right in the comments (I won’t tell if it’s right or wrong though) will earn a special prize. See you tommorow. ~Daedardus~

Story

  • The Laverre City Gym is run by Leader Valerie, who specialises in Fairy Type Pokémon, she awards you the Fairy Badge and TM99 Dazzling Gleam. She uses the following Pokémon
    • Mawile Lv.38
    • Mr. Mime Lv.39
    • Sylveon Lv.42
  • After defeating the Gym your friends tell you to meet them in the Poké Ball Factory to the north, Shauna and Trevor are then chased away by the Team Flare Grunt who was previously blocking the gates to the factory
  • When you enter the factory Team Flare are occupying it, Serena says she will take care of the first Grunt and you should head further into the factory, where more Grunts are waiting to challenge and dispose of you. NOTE: The Poké Ball Factory features 3D
  • A woman in a small room on the top left of the walk way will heal your Pokémon for you. You must reverse the direction of the conveyor belt so you can access a room in the top left of the walkway. When you access the room Team Flare Admin and Scientists are found harassing the President of the Poké Ball Company
  • First Team Flare Admin challenges you to a battle, followed by a double battle with you and Serena VS Team Flare and Celosia and Bryony. When you defeat them the President will award you with a Master Ball and a Big Nugget. Before you leave the factory your friend appear again and tell you that Dendemille Town is the next place you should visit. Finally, as you exit the factory a Holo Clip is received with an emergency announcement that the Poké Ball Factory has been attacked
  • As you progress along Route 15, you will eventually receive a Holo Clip from Lysandre, who poses several questions about the theories behind Mega Evolution. Even further along the route the player can explore the Lost Hotel
  • When you enter Dendemille Town Professor Sycamore and Dexio appear and begin talking about Xerneas or Yveltal and then leave. Trevor then appears hoping to have caught Sycamore, but then travels to the Frost Cavern in search of Pokémon
  • Next the player heads north to the Frost Cavern, where they encounter a Mamoswine that seems to sense something is amiss in the Cavern

Dae’s notes:

[spoiler]

  • The hairstylist in Lumiose only has three (male) options the first time you visit. Very Short, Short and Medium. If you get around ten haircuts, she’ll comment how fabulous you are consequent times you visit and you’ll unlock a new hairstyle: Medium Perm. There are bound to be more haircuts, but they are kinda hard to find. I experimented a bit and will let you know when I found out more.
  • Not sure if we mentioned it already but there must be a coupon for shopping clothes somewhere. Some people mention it but I have no idea where to get it. The plot thickens…

  5. I really need some help on a all Kalos Team! So, far I got 5 Pokemon figured out! Here’s the team:

    – Greninja
    – Pyroar
    – Gogoat
    – Tyrantrum
    – Hawlucha

I just need 1 more member and I can’t choose from Aegislash, Heliolisk, and Avalugg. So, which one is better?

    • I would definitely go with Aegislash however depending on what you want it to do for you..Doublade holding Eviolite could work better if you want it to have a versatile movepool otherwise:
Aegislash with maxed EV’s in HP and Defence holding Leftovers with Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, Shadow Claw/Iron Head and King’s Shield. That’s generally the main moveset for Aegislash to utilise it’s ability to its full potential.

  6. The game’s levels are WAY too easy! I didn’t bother using the same team any more. I got to the 4th gym and already caught 172 pokemon. I have so many unevolved pokemon in my boxes that I just gave up raising my team and started to challenge myself by using pokemon at level 20~30 before the 4th gym. It was still too easy! But this is where Exp. Share makes things A LOT faster. Right now I’m just leveling up all of my 172 pokemon in my boxes at least to the 30s, rather than grinding my “team” to level 40~50. I found this much more refreshing, as using the same pokemon after a while starts to get a little bland.

    • I am actually starting to think that this was GameFreak’s intention. I mean why make such a massive amount of Pokemon available and improve the EXP Share. They obviously want us to use a larger number of Pokemon and rotate them around. And the Exp share and changing how EXP is gained, just makes grinding some low lvl Pokemon easier….hmmm…i could be on to something here….

      Reply
      • If that’s true then I am playing the game how gamefreak wanted me to play it. But seriously rotatating pokemon around keeps the game refreshing and challenging. You should try it if you choose to restart.

        • Yeah, I definitely will go through the game a few more times. Trying out different ways to approach it. So much scope for a varied gameplay…

          • I’m guessing that with every new city, they want you to not only rotate your team but also change your clothes so that with every town it feels refreshing. I’m definitely gonna try it, when I get Y next week (I’ve currently been playing X).

  7. Guys!! Without giving me spoilers, do i absolutely need a pokemon that can mega evolve to finish the game?? cause in my team i have Fennekin, Amaura, Tyrunt, Helipotile, Floette and honedge, but idk if i need to keep my kanto starter around for that sole purpose.

    • … Aura Sphere? THATS New. But yeah, I am guessing that there is no worry about it getting the Pulse Moves to make use of Mega Blastoise Ability.

      Reply
        • Eh, it is still an 80 Base Power attack that can never miss, and that’s still by far the highest of any move with perfect accuracy.

          Reply
          • Apparently Mega Launcher is 50% boost….so Mega Blastoise would essentially has a STAB Some of the move revamps made sense…others didn’t. Like Aerial Ace ought to be 80 BP. Or if pin missile has 25BP, why doesn’t fury swipes or double slap or arm thrust!

          • Actually, it’s potentially possible that Aura Sphere will receive the boost as well, based on it’s Japanese name.

          • I’m gonna try to see if Froakie can learn Aura Sphere. I knew that it was Water 1 egg group. But there used to be no Water 1 egg group pokemon with Aura Sphere, but now that Squirtle can learn it….there is a chance after seeing froakie’s water pulse animation on anime.

          • Who could his father be? currently there are no pokemon in the monster or water egg groups that can learn dragon pulse, and aura sphere… so it would have to be a new pokemon, but i still don’t know which one it could be

          • I noticed that myself…I have no idea actually….I’m trying to make a guess right now….maybe a kalos pokemon or a old pokemon now has aura sphere as an egg move.

          • the only poke i can think of is goodra… but as far as my google searches go it can’t learn aura sphere. Then again this person could be faking or have done some serious chain breeding

  8. Why cant I find frost cavern! Its driving me crazy! How did you guys find it? Please help me 🙂 EDIT: Never mind I found it. Sorry

    Reply
    • I can confirm it can as Trevor literally just used one against me and it knew it! Made my Auroris use Moonblast when it used Misty Terrain lol.

    • You may have to wait, or you could play around with the 3DS clock. If your having trouble finding a rainy place it might be time based. I seemed to remember Ambrette Town was raining on Monday, and that route where Goomy is found was raining yesterday…
