This is now our X & Y coverage post, while we’re still covering, below will be a compilation of all our discoveries and findings from the game, which will later be compiled into our latest project (stay tuned)! It’s worth noting that we’re taking our time with the games, we’re keeping an eye out for interesting changes and updates, and we also have a full team of staff working away in the background gathering information for our upcoming project.

Remember, if there’s anything you’d like us to check out please let us know in the comments, and feel free to talk to us in the PokéJungle Chat (or access it by clicking the green tab in the bottom left of this window) as well as Liking us on Facebook, Following us on Twitter and registering on our forums. Please remember to follow our Community Guidelines too!

Oldest updates are at the top of the list, and latest at the bottom – the second spoiler contains story details.

NOTE: Disqus comments have been fixed again. Hooray!

UPD: We’ll continue our coverage starting next week. Most of the staff have beaten the game and expect opinions article to pop up the coming days. My very own review will hit around Wednesday. Also, keep your eyes out tomorrow October 20th for a very special announcement regarding Pokejungle. It’s the project I’ve been teasing for a while (unrelated to the other mysterious project). What could it be? The first person guessing right in the comments (I won’t tell if it’s right or wrong though) will earn a special prize. See you tommorow. ~Daedardus~

Story

  • The Laverre City Gym is run by Leader Valerie, who specialises in Fairy Type Pokémon, she awards you the Fairy Badge and TM99 Dazzling Gleam. She uses the following Pokémon
    • Mawile Lv.38
    • Mr. Mime Lv.39
    • Sylveon Lv.42
  • After defeating the Gym your friends tell you to meet them in the Poké Ball Factory to the north, Shauna and Trevor are then chased away by the Team Flare Grunt who was previously blocking the gates to the factory
  • When you enter the factory Team Flare are occupying it, Serena says she will take care of the first Grunt and you should head further into the factory, where more Grunts are waiting to challenge and dispose of you. NOTE: The Poké Ball Factory features 3D
  • A woman in a small room on the top left of the walk way will heal your Pokémon for you. You must reverse the direction of the conveyor belt so you can access a room in the top left of the walkway. When you access the room Team Flare Admin and Scientists are found harassing the President of the Poké Ball Company
  • First Team Flare Admin challenges you to a battle, followed by a double battle with you and Serena VS Team Flare and Celosia and Bryony. When you defeat them the President will award you with a Master Ball and a Big Nugget. Before you leave the factory your friend appear again and tell you that Dendemille Town is the next place you should visit. Finally, as you exit the factory a Holo Clip is received with an emergency announcement that the Poké Ball Factory has been attacked
  • As you progress along Route 15, you will eventually receive a Holo Clip from Lysandre, who poses several questions about the theories behind Mega Evolution. Even further along the route the player can explore the Lost Hotel
  • When you enter Dendemille Town Professor Sycamore and Dexio appear and begin talking about Xerneas or Yveltal and then leave. Trevor then appears hoping to have caught Sycamore, but then travels to the Frost Cavern in search of Pokémon
  • Next the player heads north to the Frost Cavern, where they encounter a Mamoswine that seems to sense something is amiss in the Cavern

Dae’s notes:

[spoiler]

  • The hairstylist in Lumiose only has three (male) options the first time you visit. Very Short, Short and Medium. If you get around ten haircuts, she’ll comment how fabulous you are consequent times you visit and you’ll unlock a new hairstyle: Medium Perm. There are bound to be more haircuts, but they are kinda hard to find. I experimented a bit and will let you know when I found out more.
  • Not sure if we mentioned it already but there must be a coupon for shopping clothes somewhere. Some people mention it but I have no idea where to get it. The plot thickens…

  1. Anyone got a Gen 6 Pokemon they disliked before the games but now actually quite like them? Mine is Aurorus, disliked it before, used it on my team, like it now.

  2. Sorry for the “spam”, but this will be my last post since I have school in a few minutes. I already beat the Elite Four and I have to say this game is AMAZING! My current team is:

Greninja Lv. 81 (Ice Beam, Surf, Water Shuriken, Dark Pulse)
Charizard Lv 80 (Fly, Dragon Claw, Flare Blitz, Power-Up Punch) **
Aegislash Lv. 80(Iron Head, King’s Shield, Sacred Sword, Shadow Claw)
Manectric Lv. 83 (Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, Quick Attack, Thunder Wave) **
Mr. Mime Lv. 81 (Psychic, Dazzling Gleam, Shadow Ball, Reflect)
Abomasnow Lv. 77 (Ice Beam, Blizzard, Earthquake, Wood Hammer) **

    (**= Mega Evolution)

If anyone wants to add me, here’s my friend code:

  3. I just had an idea about that Strange Souvenir item! According to an image (I haven’t got the item myself), it’s not from any of the five main-series regions. Could it be from a spinoff region, perhaps, like Pokemon Ranger, where we could get an egg or something in the future and find a new Mythical Pokemon? Probably not, but that’s all I can think of.

    • It’s interesting. Their are also areas where when walking outside, flying Pokemon will swoop down and attack you.

      Like a Hydreigon, for instance.

  6. So finally got 6 reset bags and im half way through super training before i go for Badge #8… some are sooo much easier to train than others! Sylveon took forever!!
    Currently super trained:
Charizard: FULL in Atk and Speed
Auroris: FULL in Sp.Atk and Sp.Def
Sylveon: FULL in Sp.Atk and HP
    Currently working on Doublade’s Atk.

    • If I recall, you asked if you should keep Doublade or evolve it. Honestly, I think you should evolve it. I have an Aegislash and it tears everything apart. Go to the Move Reminder, teach it Sacred Sword (get rid of Night Slash), and King’s Shield (get rid of Swords Dance), and trust me, you will NOT regret it. As long as you know how to use King’s Shield properly, you will do great against the Elite Four! 😀 My Aegislash’s moveset is Iron Head, Sacred Sword, King’s Shield, and Shadow Claw,

      • Well you see it really does depend on what you want it for….. see Doublade works better as a defensive tank with attack power where as Aegislash is a dual defence/attacker with a restricted movepool if you use it properly.
My movepool’s for each would be:
Doublade (Eviolite)- Sacred Sword, Shadow Claw, Swords Dance and Iron Head thus it becomes a physical tank.
Aegislash- Sacred Sword, Swords Dance, Shadow Claw and King’s Shield. This one really is a one trick pony though as really all you can do is start in shield form and take the hit as a result of slow speed and then change into sword form using an attack, then use King’s shield’s +4 priority to protect yourself and change back to shield form while also potentially lowering the foe’s attack. From there use swords dance to boost your own attack and then begin again. it really is a one trick pokemon and can be easily susse out where as Doublade is a bit more versatile with stats not much lower than Aegislash in either form.
So i think i will keep it as a Doublade tbh as i like having that versatility however in the future who knows…the game is just out and we have yet to see how the competitive field is going to play out so it may end up that Doublade is a better choice than Aegislash or vice versa.

        • That’s fine! I just thought I’d give you some feedback as an Aegislash owner. I just prefer Aegislash since you barely need to use Swords Dance since its Attack is pretty high in Sword Forme. Although I agree with Doublade+Eviolite! 😀

          • Yeah thanks 😀 You are right though Aegislash does seem like a really cool Pokemon but it definitely depends what you need for your team. But yeah Doublade was just made for the Eviolite! Mines had over 100 more defence stats than it would have had as an Aegislash in Shield form while also maintaining an amzing Attack stat at the same time that can be boosted by 1 or 2 swords dances to equal it up as though you had both shield and sword form active at once! Crazy!

  7. So apparently the base stats of older pokemon have changed. I know that wigglytuff has base 85 Sp.Atk now, higher than before. Butterfree has higher special attack.

I’m am LOVING these changes. The game feels so fresh and there are so many secret little details to know. I’m am so glad that the ROM hasn’t been hacked, so that we can remain excited for a longer time. We still don’t know if there are more legendaries or mega stones. This game….SERIOUSLY….is the BEST pokemon game I have ever played!!

          • Actually, that particular Everstone method worked in Gen V as well. Though, there is something Serebii noticed about the mother passing moves down that seemed weird, so. Actually, I’m kind of stoked for the fact that we can pass down Pokeballs, which I think is amazing as it let’s us customize our teams a lot more. Though, sadly, Ditto cannot pass down Pokeballs if used as the mother, I tried.

          • Yeah the pokeball thing is great as now people won’t be able to identify if the pokemon has egg moves or not based on the type of ball.

          • Well, it ruins a plan I had, because I wanted to get a Ditto in a heavy ball, transfer it up, and use that so I could get all my Pokemon, even later gens, in a Heavy Ball, because that’s my favorite Ball Design wise. Alas, that is impossible. And the game taunts me about this by showing a heavy ball in a glass case that I have no way of buying.
