This is now our X & Y coverage post, while we’re still covering, below will be a compilation of all our discoveries and findings from the game, which will later be compiled into our latest project (stay tuned)! It’s worth noting that we’re taking our time with the games, we’re keeping an eye out for interesting changes and updates, and we also have a full team of staff working away in the background gathering information for our upcoming project.

Remember, if there’s anything you’d like us to check out please let us know in the comments, and feel free to talk to us in the PokéJungle Chat (or access it by clicking the green tab in the bottom left of this window) as well as Liking us on Facebook, Following us on Twitter and registering on our forums. Please remember to follow our Community Guidelines too!

Oldest updates are at the top of the list, and latest at the bottom – the second spoiler contains story details.

NOTE: Disqus comments have been fixed again. Hooray!

UPD: We’ll continue our coverage starting next week. Most of the staff have beaten the game and expect opinions article to pop up the coming days. My very own review will hit around Wednesday. Also, keep your eyes out tomorrow October 20th for a very special announcement regarding Pokejungle. It’s the project I’ve been teasing for a while (unrelated to the other mysterious project). What could it be? The first person guessing right in the comments (I won’t tell if it’s right or wrong though) will earn a special prize. See you tommorow. ~Daedardus~

Story

  • The Laverre City Gym is run by Leader Valerie, who specialises in Fairy Type Pokémon, she awards you the Fairy Badge and TM99 Dazzling Gleam. She uses the following Pokémon
    • Mawile Lv.38
    • Mr. Mime Lv.39
    • Sylveon Lv.42
  • After defeating the Gym your friends tell you to meet them in the Poké Ball Factory to the north, Shauna and Trevor are then chased away by the Team Flare Grunt who was previously blocking the gates to the factory
  • When you enter the factory Team Flare are occupying it, Serena says she will take care of the first Grunt and you should head further into the factory, where more Grunts are waiting to challenge and dispose of you. NOTE: The Poké Ball Factory features 3D
  • A woman in a small room on the top left of the walk way will heal your Pokémon for you. You must reverse the direction of the conveyor belt so you can access a room in the top left of the walkway. When you access the room Team Flare Admin and Scientists are found harassing the President of the Poké Ball Company
  • First Team Flare Admin challenges you to a battle, followed by a double battle with you and Serena VS Team Flare and Celosia and Bryony. When you defeat them the President will award you with a Master Ball and a Big Nugget. Before you leave the factory your friend appear again and tell you that Dendemille Town is the next place you should visit. Finally, as you exit the factory a Holo Clip is received with an emergency announcement that the Poké Ball Factory has been attacked
  • As you progress along Route 15, you will eventually receive a Holo Clip from Lysandre, who poses several questions about the theories behind Mega Evolution. Even further along the route the player can explore the Lost Hotel
  • When you enter Dendemille Town Professor Sycamore and Dexio appear and begin talking about Xerneas or Yveltal and then leave. Trevor then appears hoping to have caught Sycamore, but then travels to the Frost Cavern in search of Pokémon
  • Next the player heads north to the Frost Cavern, where they encounter a Mamoswine that seems to sense something is amiss in the Cavern

Dae’s notes:

[spoiler]

  • The hairstylist in Lumiose only has three (male) options the first time you visit. Very Short, Short and Medium. If you get around ten haircuts, she’ll comment how fabulous you are consequent times you visit and you’ll unlock a new hairstyle: Medium Perm. There are bound to be more haircuts, but they are kinda hard to find. I experimented a bit and will let you know when I found out more.
  • Not sure if we mentioned it already but there must be a coupon for shopping clothes somewhere. Some people mention it but I have no idea where to get it. The plot thickens…

  1. I’m hoping they are saving the starters and their Mega Stones for events like Torchic so they can get Mega Evolutions! The Mega Stones are not found during normal gameplay so they haven’t been found yet. *Stays hopeful*

  3. Once I beat the game I’m gonna come here and ask each and everyone of you to give me you friend codes. I’d like to try out the Friend Safari and maybe do some trading.I’m not there yet, but you all shall know when I am. I like to keep to myself when I’m playing the story part. lol

  4. To people far into the game or even beaten the game… are there different hairstyles for your trainer other than the 4 you initially get in Lumiose city?

  5. I’m heading to Victory Road now. My team is:
    Greninja-Named Prime Ribbet. Level 60.
    Venusaur-Named Flea. Level 60.
    Hawlucha-Named Eduardo. Level 60.
Doublade-(Soon to be Aegislash) Named Cloud. Level 60.
    Gardevoir-Named En Garde. Level 59.
    Goodra-Named Snack Pack. Level 59.

I’m a little disappointed because my Goodra has Sap Sipper, but it kind of works out at times. An immunity to Grass is ok, but removing Status Conditions when it’s raining would be fantastic.

  6. So. I hate to pester. But does anyone have a friend with a grass zone?
If you could peek into it a get back to me I will be grateful 😀

  7. It appears the flabebe line variation…and likely other pokemon with forms, will retain the same form in someone’s safari. I deduce this from 5 consecutive blue floette encounters.

  8. So I’m sitting here doing math homework and then it hit me like a pile of bricks.

    I won’t do it and say I was playing X & Y 😀

    Is that a good excuse?

  9. Should I evolve Doublade? I just got a dusk stone. He is holding an Evolite right now, and tearing things up while taking hits pretty well. How good is Aegislash?

    • I’m debating this too. I like that it changes form to accommodate to the situation but will it create a risk in Defense while in Attack form? Where did you get the Dusk Stone?

      • Terminus Cavern/Cave. Right outside Anistar City. Fun cave to explore. Good stuff.

But yeah this is what I’m worried about. I love the design of Aegislash too.

    • I’ve had thsi debate myself and actually tested it out by saving then evolving and found that in my case Doublade with Eviolite was more defensive than shield form aegislash while having a pretty decent attack at the same time that when swords danced 1 or 2 times would then be equal to having both shield and sword mode active at the same time. So Eviolite Doublade was better for me and allowed me to have a better movepool where as the only good movepool for Aegislash that uses it’s ability to its fullest potential is Sacred Sword, Sword’s Dance, Shadow Claw/Iron head and King’s Shield.

        • If you want to have a diverse movepool that allows you to maintain some element of surprise then yeah but Sword’s Dance is a must! I would definitely recommend Doublade over Aegislash with EV’s in Defence and Attack and the remainder in HP. Movepool i would suggest Sacred Sword, Sword’s Dance, Iron Head and Shadow Claw.

          • Well I already have that right now. So I guess I will stay with it. I think I’ll play around with Aegislash for a few minutes though.

          • No problem 😀 I love experimenting with new pokemon but at the end of the day it all comes down to what role you need a certain pokemon to play and what works well. In my case i wanted a Physical Tank with Offensive capabilities so i went with Doublade…had i wanted a Switch Sweeper i would have gone with Aegislash but the benefits just didn’t outweigh the risks.

  10. It’s easy to ev train now and it’s fun now. Ev trained Eevee in special attack, special defense, and the rest hp. And I used the training bag that makes your Pokemon resets there stats on greninjna to sp. attack, and speed and the rest to defense.
