  3. I tried to go to bed early so I could pick up the game when the store opens and play all day. But I’m so excited and this thunderstorm is so loud that I can’t sleep. So it looks like I’m gonna be powering through Pokemon Y until I pass out!

  4. Relief! For those worried that Doublade wasn’t going to learn any decent Steel type moves..it learns Iron Head at Lvl: 45 😀

  5. Just a heads up for anyone playing XY who hasn’t done the latest system update. STOP PLAYING and do it now because my brand new XY 3DS XL just froze and i lost some save data because i had to reset. Nintendo’s website seems too think specific games might cause the system to crash if not fully updated so i would advise you do this now .

  6. Hmmm, I wonder where everybody is… Oh that’s right! They’re playing Pokemon X/Y, while I have to wait about another 2 hours! .-.

        • Kalos Starters not known yet…last gen not all starters with their hidden abilities were actually released so possibly never. It is not yet known if you can catch them in the Friend Safari but if you can then that would be the place.

  13. Dawn of the Final Day
    -4 Hours Remain-

This really has been quite the journey, hasn’t it! Let’s see…during the time that I waited for these games, I graduated from middle school, took a two-and-a-half week trip to Europe, and met everyone here at PokeJungle. That’s the true journey, the time spent anticipating the release of something amazing.

Enough with this crap. LETS PARTAAAAAAY, XATU STYLE!

    • To get Poké Puffs in Amie you either need to play the mini games (the higher the difficulty the better the Puff), or connect to the PSS and you will receive gift from others Pokémon, sometimes these are Puffs.

  14. Okay, Pokemon Y is got.

Started with Froakie, and I decided I would keep it, particularly as I like my nickname for it and it’s further endeared it to me.

  15. I picked up my copy today at best buy. I felt kinda bad because someone asked me where I got my copy from, as he couln’t find where they were in the store. I told him I pre ordered and that’s how I got my copy. I hope he finds one, nobody should be denied a copy of the game on this wonderful day.

  16. Hey there 🙂 just wanna thank you guys so much, after visiting this site like a 10000 times over the last months, i finally bit the bullet and made an account ^^ i have one more question. Is someone willing to trade their charizardite x for my charizardite y? Love from austria <3

    Reply
    • I seriously doubt it. For one there are still Pokemon on the trademark list unaccounted for, such as Jynx for instance, and so far everything on that trademark list has made it. I’d say we still have more Megas coming.

  17. I feel like this question has been beat to death, but now that I am playing the game, I am not sure of the answer. How do you take off the hat? How long into the game is this an available option?

  18. Wow, Sycamore was a lot harder than he should have been. Guess it’s what happens when you only have one Pokemon, and your leech seeded against something that defends your attacks fairly well *leech seed by bulbasaur, Squirtle could take my attacks pretty well.*

  26. Okay, update on the game. First, I have EXP Share off, it’ll be a very useful item later on, but for my opening part of my run, I don’t want it on. So, I have two pokemon in my team, Shredder the Frogadier, and Chen Storm the Pancham. Chen Storm is rocking things pretty good, and almost always gets at least one crit each time he uses Arm Thrust or Comet Punch, so I almost wish he had Skill Link for one of his abilities.

  27. Guys, I’m at the Safari right now, and I’m pretty sure that like in HGSS’s Safari, there’s a higher chance of you getting 31 for an IV. Also, The Fennekin I got after the game was Timid and had 31 IV in sp.atk, which I’m sure is no coincidence.

  35. Yes!!! Female Bulbasaur!!! I can confirm now that the pokemon that you battle Sycamore with are not the same starters. In other words, if all of sycamore’s pokemon are male, the starters still have a chance at being female. So don’t soft reset until after receiving the pokemon!

  36. As soon as I started my game on Pokemon X I got a female Chespin kind of happy about it as of right now I am on Route 5 and have a Charmeleon male, Pikachu female, Butterfree Male, Quilladin female, Skiddo Male. Still trying to find a Pancham really want him on my team

  37. I just got challenged to a match on PSS. But after accepting the battle I realized that all I has was Quilladin and Bulbasaur. My opponent had fennekin and squirtle. I was like, “its over -_-“. Fennekin is up first (Oh every pokemon is leveled up to 50 automatically like battle subway), and I had Quilladin. I thought, “Well this will be a fast match!” I had 154 HP she uses flame charge….gets me down to 130 HP. 130 HP!!!! O_O. Then I realized the power of Quilladin’s GOD defense. I used 1 rollout, fennekin goes down to more than half….my expression: :O!!!

Im thinkin of ditching Amaura cuz its jst too weak for me and switching Kirlia for swirlix wat do you think

          • I would replace Kirlia for Sylveon maybe… but i would urge you to keep Amaura..i have it and trust me once it levels up and gets some decent moves it becomes a powerhouse and once it evolves its defence is amazing!

          • Oh alrite bt do you hav an extra eevee on you cuz ive been looking for 1 for 3 HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!

          • Unfortunately i don’t…are you sure you are looking in the right place because it can only be found on one route. Route 10. It was the first thing that popped up for me.

  45. Oh wow. I might need to start using the EXP Share. Levels are getting higher than mine now, and I nearly got killed by a Machoke and Mr. Mime Duo due to weaknesses.

    • Clawitzer 😀 or if you are playing Y then you are kind of stuck for Kalos water types unless you like Barnicle….you get a Lapras after the 3rd gym if your okay with non Kalos pokemon.

      Reply
      • I’m okay with that. I’m not okay with repeated types though so no Lapras because of Aurorus. Binacle is part Rock type. What about Psyduck? Any other water type?

        Reply
        • Starmie 😀 Top notch water type if i dont say so myself. (A little biased since it’s my favourite Pokemon) You can find it on Route 8 by fishing. Or maybe Kingdra…Horsea is found by fishing in Ambrette Town or Cyllage City.

    Reply
    • Not sure about Floette but my Helioptile is Lvl: 45 and hasn’t really leaned anything decent since Volt Switch (which ive now replaced for Thunderbolt) im gonna keep at it a little longer though.

      Reply
      • Hmm, that’s disappointing.

I was very surprised that Helioptile can learn Surf actually. Really didn’t expect that.

In fact, a lot of its level-up moves make little sense to me. Razor Wind? Bulldoze?

        Reply
        • Yeah its a weird little thing…Sun Stone isn’t the most obvious evolution method either but i guess with Dry Skin as its ability it makes more sense than Surf but it works great on its moveset.

          Reply
  52. Some other dream abilities for Kalos pokes:
Talonflame get’s Quick Wings(not official) which makes all flying moves a priority move(or+1 priority to all flying moves) and Goodra get’s sticky/icky which slowers the opponent’s speed when attacked.

  53. Hrm… AI Isn’t smarter? Maybe they always did this, but I’m fighting an Ace Trainer who intelligentally switched out her granbull for her dry skin helioptile to eat my in coming water pulse. Not that she was able to do more beyond that, but I dont recall AI trainers switching hardly at all in the past, though I’d admit ace trainers would probably be the ones to do it.

  56. Okay, Retaliate is one of the best animations in this game. It goes to black, and then the pokemon using it is on the other side doing a fatal slash like a samurai movie, with cherry blossoms flying through the air, black and red in the background forming like a japanese paper screen door. THAT IS BADASS. Even if it was used on me

  62. … Wow, I just murdered Korrina.

    Anyways, Team Update.

Shredder: He just evolved to Greninja as soon as the battle was over, so he’s easily my highest level Pokemon, and has been very good for me.

Nyarlathotep: Recently evolved Malamar, this guy has been great for me, especially with contrary. Korrina did not stand a chance against him.

Chen Storm: I actually haven’t gotten to use him yet since he evolved to Pangoro, but he’s consistently been able to beat the snot out of things.

Shades: Kind of a place holder, but this Krokorok has been somewhat useful, particularly against electric types, for obvious reasons. He is liable to be replaced though.

Erebus: At first, I was annoyed, because this Sableye has Stall, so he always goes Last. But then I realized due to his attacks, who cares, and have dumped into his defenses and attack, and this little dark goblin is ripping things to shreds. Plus, he always has max Payback damage, which hurts nicely.

  66. My Team progress because I felt like it:
Nino (Greninja): I got a little bit unlucky with an Impish nature (+Def, -Sp.Atk), but to be honest it’s actually sort of worke din m favour. Now he’s a brilliant mixed sweeper, who I am getting a lot of usage out of. Power-up Punch is insanely useful, and Thief’s power creep this gen is also veyr welcome. Water Shruiken is too badass for words, and pretty OP too. He looks damned awesome in Amie as well!

Fletcher (Talonflame): Not gonna lie, Fletchinder’s design is much nicer than Talonflame’s. Still, I have very much enjoyed using him. Aerial ace rips through everything insanely quickly (an Adamant nature really, really helps with that). The one thing that is a little bit sucky is that level 38 is the first time is learns a physical fire type move (Flame Charge). Until then all you have is Ember.

Po (Pangoro): Ridiculously beastly. Can sap up damage and dish it out massively. I’m really, really enjoying using this one.

Tyrone (Tyrunt): Rock Tomb’s improved accuracy is really useful. Crunch is also obviously great, and Dragon Claw is obviously fantastic. I love this lil guy’s design, waiting patiently for daytime currently so that I can evolve him.

Basil (Helioptile): I really liked how quickly I could use this guy. He was useable form the Get-Go, which was great. Parabolic charge is a godsend in Horde battles, and learning Surf is really interesting and useful for his moveset. The Normal type has caught me off guard a few times, and I’ve suffered, and for a long while he had to be trained up, but ever since he’s been a reliable team member. Really need his level-up moves soon so that I can work out when to evolve him. I can feel him needing those improved stats soon.

Rosie (Floette): Flabébé was rather weak, but as soon as she evolved she was a valuable member of the team. Floette is a great design and I’m happy I’ve had it for so long. The multitude of Grass moves was certainly interesting (even if all but one were physical, ugh), and I am loving that she gets Wish and Aromatherapy. It kinda sucks that her only Fairy move is Fairy Wind. She’d had it since level 7 and it’s getting weak now. Still perfectly useable, but her physical Frailty means that she can’t tank it out and just spam Fairy Wind some of the time. Like Basil, I need to know her level up moves, because she too could do with evolution soon, but I need to know I’m not missing out on anything important before I go ahead and use the stone. I’m expecting a Petal Dance if the trend that was been set out so far continues, and another Fairy move seems likely too at some stage.

  67. You know back in my days as a young-er trainer… NPC’s didn’t ask for money in exchange for telling me their uninteresting and completely unrelated stories.

  68. Can i just say that this has been the best game launch ever! Not just because of how awesome the game is but because of all of you guys who make it so much more fun to play and share info, battle and trade etc. It’s like we are all setting out on our adventure together 😀

  69. Cool, there is a lady in Laverre city that can recount your gym battles and which pokemon you used by showing her your badges.

  70. Oh, btw, I caught a Blue Flabébé a little while back. It’s not the one I’m using, but I thought I’d evolve it fully so you guys could see a Blue Florges.

  71. Okay so got Badge #6 😀
    Current Team is:
    Greninja Lvl: 51
    Charizard Lvl: 50
    Doublade Lvl: 48
    Sylveon Lvl: 48
    Helioptile Lvl: 47
    Auroris Lvl: 47

That gym was really cool! A nice homage to the traditional warp panel gyms used in the past but with a really interesting DollHouse theme.

  72. The RNG has not been kind to me in this game when soft resetting for natures. Still haven’t gotten a Jolly Charmander, and been searching over an hour now.

    • Super Training is one of those mindless addicting things, which makes it a great alternative to EV training, which is really tedious.

    • Actually, I think many us people are getting other patterns, it depends on where you live within the US. So, more people can trade with you 🙂

  73. I just spent 12 hours playing this game with 7 friends in one room. Me and another guy were perfectly in sync battle for battle, and we had tons of double battles and lots of fun.

This game is amazing. The best Pokemon by far. Super Training is a great replacement for EV training, although I still hope something has been done about IVs.

  74. AH, LOVING THESE GAMES!!! Super Training’s a godsend, the battles are just…awesome…and best of all, I just caught a shiny Honedge, perfect nature and all! I swear, I’m gonna explode!

  75. Lmao, I know where I’m gonna save before I stop playing for the night. Gonna sit on the bench in the Pokemon Center, right next to this NPC…then I’m just gonna stare at him and save.

  76. So I’m sorry for being behind but has it been confirmed how many mega evolutions there are ? Or if there are any new pokes post game ?

      • Ok thanks , I’m quite surprised that the all the details of the whole game aren’t publicly knowledge by now becauE it was an international release but I guess GF put a lot of effort into making the game thorough and in depth which I’m glad … Crossing my fingers there are some secret evolutions that are really tough that people haven’t found yet !

        • I know that in serebii, his updated old moves isn’t complete yet. For example String Shot now lowers speed by 2, so it’s like scary face. It’s not on the website though.

    • And I’d like to say, that Absol put up quite the fight. Took me 20 individual Pokeball of different types to get it, eventually capturing it in an Ultra Ball. Put up that kind of fight, then he deserves to be on my team.

  77. …Alright, now that my hype has died down from that capture, has anyone here used Aegislash yet? Because my Honedge has an Adamant nature, and I’m trying to figure out how to distribute EV’s. seeing as how it’s Attack/Special Attack and Defense/Special Defense switch between forms….

  78. Got a dream flabebe and spritzee, flabebe has forceful(?) where you can give an item to your allies, and spritzee has aroma veil which prevents mental attacks(attacks like taunt maybe?)

  79. I’m not saying it’s confirmed, but it looks like Haxorus get’s a Mega Evolution.

In the new XY Anime preview I posted below there was a silhouette of what looked like Haxorus but with extra head spikes.

  82. Finally doing some Super Training for reals. Captured this Absol, and had the perfect opportunity to do it. And once you get the hang of it, I think Super Training is great, and once you factor in the punching bags, probably a lot better than regular ev training, at least personally. Helps you get to see the numbers too.

  84. Wait I’m on Route 10, so that means… Eevee!! What’s a good nature for Sylveon? I heard it was more Special defensive.

  85. That’s interesting. Sableye can learn this new attack Dazzling Gleam from the fairy gym. Which, I beat her on my first try, but it took some planning, due to her having almost every advantage. Though, I did have a fairly good duel between her Mawile and my Sableye, and if it weren’t for her Iron Defensing Twice, my Sableye would have won. Equal levels too.
