  1. We got this trailer in english pretty quickly. Does that mean we’ll be getting it in November rather than April (I’m only guessing how long it takes)?

  2. YEAH! Can’t wait. Like I really can’t, I will probably watched a subbed version before then. But still, super awesome. Can’t wait to see this and the new anime as well. Starting October, Pokemania will be back in full force.

  3. I stopped watching pokemon anime 8 years ago. Although we’ve seen the japanese trailer of this, I wanna see this because it really feels like a love letter to old fans like me who began with red and blue. 🙂

    • Generations 1-3 were good (well, 3 was alright) but Gen 4’s anime was terrible but luckily, Gen 5’s anime was a lot better. Gen 6’s new anime looks like it’s gonna be awesome though. I noticed they’re using a lot more CGI environments in the anime now too. You should give it a try on October 19th, they’re previewing it in most countries the same day (The UK gets the new movie, first XY episode on October 19th and the second episode the next day).

      • I actually wanna give X and Y anime a try, I definitely like it a lot more than gen 4 and 5. I actually seen like 2-3 eps of dppt and bw anime and I didn’t like it. I actually don’t like the english voice actors in the dub, so I’ll probably watch a few japanese episodes of X and Y. If I like it, I’ll follow it. I stopped watching right after they changed the english voice actors, which was sometime in gen 3 during battle frontier I think.

      • Gen 5 anime was okay, just so much of Iris saying Ash is “a little kid” when she’s technically the same age as him and probably not as experienced. And then there’s Cilan with his evaluations.

  4. am I the only one who thinks that Red’s charizard is gonna mega evolve at 1:00, cause a bracelet on Red’s arm is glowing and the belly of charizard

    • I’m guessing 5-10 minutes of intro (Pallet Town). A montage of Red catching his first few Pokemon (1 minute). Red’s first gym battle (5 minutes), a loss, training (5 minutes), a rematch (a win lasting 5 minutes), then a montage of gym victories (1 minute), S.S. Anne (5 minutes), Pokemon Tower (5 minutes), gym montage (1 minute), Silph Co. (5 minutes), gym montage (1 minute), Giovanni gym battle (5 minutes), Victory Road (1 minute), Elite 4 (15 minutes), Rival Battle (10 minutes), and then Cerulean Cave (10 minutes).

        • Ha, it was just a rough idea. Wasn’t it confirmed to be about 1 hour and 45 minutes in Japan for the whole thing, making it ~25 minutes per episode. They could have one episode as Intro-Brock’s gym, the second as Mt. Moon-SS Anne, the third as Lavender Town-Giovanni’s gym, and the last one as the E4 episode.

It’ll only 2 hours at most, so we can’t expect all gym battles.

  5. Do you guys think that it looks like Red ages a little in this trailer? His hair looks longer at the end of the trailer, but it could be just camera angle.

Also, Ash in the other anime doesn’t seem to age for XY. In the last episode of the BW Saga, his mom gives him his new outfit and he puts it on right away. So no time skip involved or anything like that it seems.

      • I will watch it for 3 times XD japanese, english and italian XD and then judge which dub is better (but I already know… 1st japanese, 2nd english XD)

          • I did not see that anime, but you clearly did’nt know other versions of your shows. I saw several anime dubbed in english, and THEY are awful, in my opinion. Our language is more difficult than yours and has long words, to begin with, so it’s natural you can’t understand all of them clearly.

          • Are you italian?? If yes, me too…. and belive me the japanese dub is much better! Same for the english one… the italian one sometimes is strange and not exciting…
When I watched the special commercial for B2W2 the japanese/english one was really exciting (even a polish fan dub!!!! I still love the voices!! They were perfect for the characters!!) and the italian one was disappointing, I don’t liked it 🙁
            But it’s my opinion ^^

          • (Maybe I should use italian, but …) yes, I’m italian. I have not seen our version of the commercial, but I think the only problem with pokémon dub is the low number of actors, and the constant misspelling of pokémon names. I had so many bad experiences with english dub of Yugioh (4kids ruined all!), that ours, being flawed and all, seems perfect. And the same is true for Dragonball and other anime.
(Chiaramente è solo la mia opinione, ma, per favore, con tutte le brutte cose che gli Italiani dicono del proprio paese, non distruggere anche i nostri doppiatori … non credo affatto che lo meritino).

          • (better english, we are in an english site afterall xD )
Yes, probably is the number of dub actors… they are always the same from years… for example Emanuela Pacotto (Rina – The Slayers, Jessie – Pokémon, Nami – One Piece…) °__°”’ I identify every dubber!!
Anyway, thanks for your opinion 🙂 I hope we will have other exchange of opinions ^^

(beh, a volte i rumour non sono infondati e se dicono che qualcosa in Italia non va magari qualcosa di vero c’è.)

          • I think that this crew is used only in mediaset anime (mainly on Italia1 and Boing), so others, like Gintama or Digimon, for example, utilize other dub actors. Mediaset ones (Merak) are pretty good, but you are right. I’m annoyed too from hearing the same voices in all the shows: they should hire some other people!
(Ok, lasciamo stare la politica, o finiremmo col litigare. Sono intervenuta solo per evitare che gli Americani pensino che i nostri doppiatori facciano schifo quanto i nostri attori. Grazie comunque anche per la tua opinione!)

    • In Japan, they got “Pocket Monsters Red and Green”. Green was recoloured to have more of a blue colour when played on GBC and released in the west as Pokemon Blue. When the third version came out in Japan, it was “Pocket Monsters Blue” but was recoloured to yellow for GBC and modified as a special version, then released as “Pokemon Yellow” in the west.

      • -,_-, What.

Pocket Monsters Red and Green were the original games in Japan. When it came time to localize the series, they decided to base those versions (called Red and Blue) on the already released Pocket Monsters Blue, which was on the Gameboy. This is because Pocket Monsters Blue was updated with graphics and coding. Therefore, Yellow was the forth game in Japan, while the third game internationally, to be released while G/S was in development.

  6. As excited as I am for this, it seems a bit odd that they’d make something like this now when there doesn’t seem to be much current relevance to Red and Blue. That is, unless they intend to promote the new Kanto Mega Evolutions with this special, which seems entirely possible (especially in the clip with Red and Charizard floating around each other). If this is the case, I wouldn’t mind it at all! Besides, any Pokémon animé not starring Ash is something I don’t mind, anyway.

    • i feel the same way but i guess japan doing cause x and y gonna be some sort of milestone to them, and them only, in the u.s it probably wont matter too much only if it came out the exact day red and blue came out would it mean something to us

    • I think it’s just something that fans have wanted for a long time, and releasing it around the same time as X and Y sort of serves as a means of juxtaposing the series’ origins with where it is now. It’s kind of like seeing how far Pokemon has come since the original games, and illustrating how the series hasn’t lost sight of where it all began.

    • Throwbacks to old games aren’t exactly new. They realize how old their series is and have to appeal to a larger market than just children.

      Reply
      • Yeah, I’m just trying to figure out the decision to make this from a business standpoint. Nearly every last decision they make is for a specific marketing purpose, but with this I’m having trouble figuring out what that would be.

        • The Pokemon series is incredibly old…not many series manage to last as long as Pokemon has. As a series gets older, the consumer base becomes more wide spread as ‘older gen’ followers grow in age and ‘younger gen’ followers tack on. Basically, not only does this feel like something ‘new’ for younger fans but brings back nostalgia for older fans. All feel targeted and appreciated.

  7. I’m happy that this is coming to Pokemon TV. It looks really cool and I’m glad they’re not just writing it off as some Japanese exclusive special like they do with a lot of the others. I look forward to watching this very much.

I’m so bored that I am trolling my friend from class telling him that there is a Pokemon X and Y broadcast going on with a guy who recieved the games early and is doing a live coverage of the games as we speak. He still hasn’t gotten the fact that I AM KIDDING (I won’t tell him yet, hehe). #SOOOOOOOBORED

  12. For some reason I’m always been a great fan of Green, and I despised Red in all of his apparitions (except, maybe, the one on Mt. Silver). He is a generic hero, dressed in red and lacking in unicness (I don’t know if this word exists). But I really want this special airing in my country too …

  13. I am the only one thinking that Red’s default Pokémon should be Bulbasaur? I know that Charizard is more popular than Venusaur, but it’s everywhere! Its onnipresence begings to annoy me, and I am a great fan of fire dragons!

    Reply
    • You are definitely not the only one….I am one of those who fell in love with bulbasaur rather than charmander. Personally, I feel Charizard is overated, and I started with gen 1.

      Reply
      • Bulbasaur is the Pokémon that permitted me to actually finish Blue. It was my first rpg, and I messed everything from the beginning. If I had chosen Charmander I don’t know if I would have passed Mt. Moon.
Maybe I don’t love Charizard, but Charmeleon is one of my favourite pokémon: it looks fiercer, and more intelligent, in my opinion.

        Reply
        • Yeah! Venusaur is perhaps the best of the grass starters (besides Sceptile). Although I doubt it is OU. Very few grass pokémon are OU.

          Reply
          • With its DW ability, it moves up the tiers to settle on OU. A lot of Pokemon with Swift Swim, Chlorophyll or Sand Rush becomes very viable in OU given the prevalence of weather and the importance of speed these days. Even Blaziken became Ubers simply by virtue of its DW ability, Speed Boost.

        • Well even if they weren’t given tiers, Venusaur is still a lot more useful than Charizard. There are way too many fire types that are faster and have more special attack than charizard. But there isn’t a single grass type that is as unique as Venusaur. Even without tiering, I still like Venusaur more than Charizard. To me, Salamence is a better “dragon” than Charizard

  18. Apparently there’s also a reviewer that says that all but 3 things on the new Pokébeach rumor is false. Hopefully Froakie turning Water/Fighting is part of the false information.

  20. Ok, here’s what I read is going on. There’s a girl leaking the images on a facebook page. Internet sleuths have tried to track here down, but the guy who posted the cap of the images is the only person thus far who has seen them. (and her page is set to friends only so..)

The guy that posted the stuff about the chespin evo name, and day/night stuff and everything is a person currently posting on 4chan. They have not provided any actual photographic evidence they’ve actually got the game (although, according to posts “its a friend’s who is a reviewer, and he was just playing it for a bit”)

Take that for what it’s worth.

  21. Does anyone else think that Litleo and Fletchling don’t evolve directly into Talonflame and Pyroar? I think their family have a first-stage too. Skiddo, Inkay and the others have been confirmed as the direct evolutions. I’m sure about Talonflame because Taillow and Hoothoot doesn’t have that much height difference.

  22. I think most people have an idea of how Fennekin and Froakie’s final evo will be. But even though I won’t pick chespin, I’m pretty curious to see how its final evo is gonna look. Like really I have no idea now lol

    • This is from GJ on that site:

You can add me on your 3DS so you can see that I’m playing it. I’m not going to leak any info though. I like my job, haha.

The only thing I will do is debunk the PokeBeach rumors. It’s just made-up stuff. I don’t want you guys to believe fake stuff that won’t end up in the final game.”

  23. I wonder if they’ll make another Origins like special, only focusing on the original Gold and Silver. I know it would be kind of funny to see Oak being woken up and then asking if your a boy or girl.

Actually, they could make it interactive, where depending on the answer to the gender question, superficially changes the story.
