Airing on TV and uploaded to Nintendo’s official YouTube channel, this video has been out for a few days and upon first look reveals nothing new. But at the 0:08 mark what seems to be two grey Pokemon can be seen behind some fences to the right. We can’t say it’s a new Pokemon for sure, but it also doesn’t match up with anything else we’ve seen in the overworld so far.
What do you think it is – new Pokemon, old Pokemon, or just a grey blob?

People think it is Espurr (Meowstick pre-evo) but I just don’t think it looks like one honestly..
I agree. I mean, compare that thing to Meowstik, it doesn’t even have those big eyes and it looks kinda colorless.

the things that look like ears could be tusks. And they could be considered adorable

They’re greyed out because they’re in the distance or something. That’s not just grey, that’s a very pinky grey.

It could just be a representative of a pokemon left at the daycare
I was about to reply and say how they’ve used individual unique over world sprites to show when to Pokemon are in the daycare, but then I realized they haven’t done that since HGSS.

I have this feeling that they wouldn’t create just a generic overworld sprite for Pokemon in the daycare though. I’d see them either not showing the Pokemon at all, or have them be shown in a Pokemon-Amie style.

I think its always been done but just unnoticed. I’m pretty sure Deerling was a Normal/Grass and someone else was half normal in 5th gen as well. And Girafarig, Normal/Psychic in Gen 2.

The image is from belmad. It looks similar to a Koala. Also, it has Green on it. I used “mostly likely” because I’m 100% not sure! If you don’t think it is a Koala. What do you think it is?

They definitely have some detail to them, their mouths and stomachs are a lighter grey, big floppy round ears slightly darker inside the ears. Probably a Koala or a little Ghost type Pokémon.
If they are Koalas, what type would you want them to be? I’d prefer a Normal/Grass type.
