Pokémon Smash! September 22 — FINISHED

Pokémon Smash will be airing soon in Japan. This week there’s not a huge amount in terms of expectations. It’s likely we will get a small amount of in game footage featuring some previously revealed Pokémon, and a possible reveal of the new fossil Pokémon on Smash. The Smash crew will also be looking back at the times they’ve shared on the show before the final episode airs next week in this memorial special. As this episode is not an XY or other special we will not be providing live coverage.

  1. I think a Really cool topic would be which Region would you live in? (as of now)
You would have to consider it would be like living in your own country meaning you would not travel to other regions (countries) any more than you do now in your regular life =D

          • I’ll give it to him that he looks cool and is a good Pokemon, but I just hate how he manipulates competitive battling so easily. Even the anime hints at his OPness, with anime Scizors having speed on par with Jolteon.

    • It’s nonstarter and nonlegendary. I have separate favs for that
Fav: (2nd stage= Most likely I like the rest of the Pokemon in its line)
Gen 1- Persian (might be inspired by Giovanni’s in the anime… :3)
      Gen 2- Espeon (Duh!)
      Gen 3- Gardevior
      Gen 4- Luxray
Gen 5- Leavanny and Krookodile (Can’t decide between the two)
Gen 6- So far, Helioptile and Sprtizee and Braixen (THIS ONE’S HARD)

      Least Fav:
      Gen 1- Muk
      Gen 2- Quilfish
      Gen 3- Zangoose
      Gen 4- Skuntank (Mostly inspired by Jupiter’s >:( )
      Gen 5- Basculin
Gen 6- So far, Gogoat (But seriously, I still kinda like it…I just like others more)

        • First half of senior year- Crazy roller-coaster through college applications.
Second half- Who cares? Applications are done- have a ball!

          • Remember this: Do NOT go crazy your Freshmen year of college if you’re gonna dorm. Have fun weekends, but keep yourself focused. I’ve never dormed, but new people who have. It gets kinda crazy.

          • I wish my roommates thought the same way. They partied till 3 am and I had to get up and yell at them to shut it because I had an exam the next day at 9 am.

          • Yep, freshman often screw themselves out of careers, trashing their GPA’s.

Though, they should hopefully get used to the idea that this is not like compulsory high school courses. You are actually paying!

          • Haha, you’ll get used to it. It’s hard for some to manage their time without a parent holding their hand, but many people excel in college right from the get-go. I’m sure you’ll do fine.

          • What exactly is IB? I was a top student, but my school was a poor public one and they only offered APs. I’ve heard IBs mentioned, but I don’t actually know what they are.

          • Its weighted the same as AP. Its not as fast paced as AP, but the work load is significantly greater. On top of that, I go to Suncoast, one of the hardest schools in the country 🙁

          • Gah, that’s ugly. I feel your pain though; I’m at one of the Ivy Leagues and the workload is brutal. My college doesn’t accept any AP credits at all though, so when it came time for the APs Senior year, I really didn’t need to work for them (but I did get all 3s and 4s though).

          • I need a job if I’m getting X and Y(and a 3ds lol). I need to pay for college apps, SAT and a car in April. -___-

          • I am overwhelmed with the applications, letter of purpose (each will be different essays depending upon the program), 20+ page research sample, interviews, gathering letters of recommendation, working, holding a position on the student government executive board, and the classes, coursework, and exams. But I am sure this is nothing compared to grad school! I better suit-up.

    • Oh high school………so much extra sleep I got……lol To be perfectly honest I didn’t find high school as a whole hard to get through in the least. I had my problems for sure, but once you get through them you realize they were small potatoes to real life hahaha

        • Yea, that’s kind of what I find irritating about school systems. In high school they barely prepare kids for college and basically the rest of their lives. It’s just a lot of things to keep kids busy during the day. It’s been 2 years since I’ve even entered my high school and for the most part I think I’ve learned a lot of things about life on my own through experiences. It’s important to get a degree, but people should open their minds to all possibilities instead of being herded around like sheep. Sorry I didn’t mean to go into a rant mode. I’ll stop now hahahaha

          Reply
          • High School is not for help you to prepare for the life, The show you all the stuff life has!! Mmmmmmm I learned a lot of thing and Im glad Im going to the school everyday

          • Don’t get me wrong I think it’s very important to go and get your degree and everything. I just think that a lot of high schools don’t give kids enough options as to what they want to learn about. Of course there are things that kids should learn no matter what, like science and math, but I feel like there are a lot of classes that are just shoved down kids throats, that they may not even be interested in. And then when they go to college they end up spending tons of money on classes that they may realize aren’t what they wanted. *sigh* I said I would stop ranting and here I am doing it again….hahahaha Now for real I will stop lol

          • Yep this. I wanted more physics, political science, technical writing, social science, and biological science. Instead, they force me to take classes that did not pertain to my aspirations like sexual education, geology, and creative writing, and a bunch of extremely basal courses.

          • The nice thing about my program is that I have a lot of wiggle room to take course that I am interested in and will prepare me for my graduate school education and career. The program is fairly small yet has a great reputation; the small classes really allow for individualization. A lot of the time I will just chat-up my professors for an hour after class, and they speak with me on a professional level. High school teachers, spoke down to me, and most of the time I knew more than they did! I don’t think it helped that I corrected them as much as possible. I just felt the urge to demonstrate to them and the class what a joke high school is, but I can see how some high schools have more knowledgeable instructors.

          • Apparently my Physics teacher worked on the particle accelerator machine. I have no idea why he is teaching high school.

          • LMAO, this reminds me, one of my high school teachers, one of the smart ones, accidentally mentioned working on nuclear weapons. He was a funny guy, very nice, but gauche. His eyes widened and he said, “oh nooo. I can’t, I can’t, um, talk about that…”

and, really? That must have been amazing having a teacher that worked on the particle accelerator! Only the best of the best physicists work with that technology!

          • LOL! Yeah, he’s worked with NASA and edited physics textbooks as well. It’s insane. He could be doing so much more with his life, but it’s pretty humbling how he spends his time teaching high school physics.

          • exactly!! I couldn’t agree more!! hahaha That’s why I think maybe high schools could give more options to kids at least in their senior year so they can learn a little about what it’s like to be in college and what they may be learning in the future.

      • we dont have problems but you knwo High School always give you homework and stuff to do and you dont have time to read, watch or hang out with friends, I love High Scholl and everything and I’m a good student but sometime you want to do something else and you coundnt do it for the among of homework

          • It wouldn’t be Super weak against itself. It would be immune to the Dragon Half, and be 2x weak to Fairy, but not like that would be a 4x weakness. That is Super Weak.

          • I think a fighting type pseudo would make a lot of sense based on the types of other pseudos. Kind of excluding the flying element, as that seemed to represent the fact it was a winged dragon more than anything, though flying is an important element defensively, all the Pseudo Legendaries have had types that are really powerful. Rock has always been a powerful attacking type, and then Dark was kind of the new kid on the block, and helped stop the powerful Psychics, then in gen 3, we got the best defensive type in the game, Steel, along with the still potent Psychic, and it still has the fame of being the single most powerful element in Gen 1. Gen IV, we got Ground, as many of us know how deadly Earthquakes can be, and then of course, all of the Dragons, who only got stronger, with a nice culmination in Hydreigon. So, Dragon *flying*, Rock, Dark, Steel, Psychic, and Ground. All powerful types in their own right. So, Fighting, ESPECIALLY in Gen V was very dominant, so it seems like it should be due on any time, and Fairy too seems kind of like a no brainer, being in the same situation as Dark essentially.

          • You know, Tyranitar had the dark-type the same generation it was introduced in, so maybe (though this is not concrete) the Pseudo-Legendary of this generation will be part Fairy-type.

          • Fighting/Electric, Fighting/Flying, Dark/Fairy, Dragon/Fairy, Dark/Electric, and Electric/Psychic would be really cool

          • Bug/Psychic and Bug/Ice have been on my list forever! And a real bug/water. I mean, surskit should have evolved into a water-glider spider!

  11. So this, “Masuda also stated that there might be an easier way to obtain Shiny Pokemon, while Yoshida said that they wanted to make a Shiny Pokemon’s color stand out more.” – Pokebeach

What do you think this means?

I hope shinies are a tad easier to catch without being too common.

  12. This is a little off-topic, but I’m watching Naruto for the first time on Toonami. It’s a lot better than I expected! Much better than the Pokemon anime. (Yes I know the Pokemon anime is meant for a younger audience, but still)

  13. Thanks awesome fossil pokemon. I missed this, “With thanks to KurowaSan for the translation, an interview with Eurogamer has revealed that there will be a greater variety of wild Pokemon in the grass. The idea is that each time you enter tall grass, they want you to find a different Pokemon. Also, depending on the color of the flowers in the tall grass, the ratio of the Pokemon encounters and their types are different. “
