I hope so too. Despite the fact that we might have three Grass/Dark Pokémon (Cactune, Shiftry, and Chespin’s final form), for some reason, I feel like there is too many of them and would be disappointing if Oorotto ended up being Grass/Dark too.

We finally saw the player character in other clothes other than default (which still looks awesome, perfected)
Marill used a new Fairy move, making us remember that it is, indeed, a Fairy now.
And I think, in the Oorotto horde battle, that Lava Plume (or Eruption….I dunno) is super effective on it. But that could just be me. The sound is sorta similar to the super effective ones with the Fairy and Dragon clips.
Overall, I want a localized trailer, so I could scream to the world that I need this game now more than ever.
If it’s super effective, it being Part Grass, and not part rock at the same time is pretty much confirmed. *thus it being in horde battles with sudowoodo is basically a huge coincidence, or they are paired due to being of similar strength, like Mlitank and Tauros. I read elsewhere that there is a fight with Mega Blaziken and Orotto, and it appeared to do super effective damage. So…

Hmm, I would be fine with either. But I prefer Grass/Ghost. It has the whole rotting/ghosty feel to it. It’s more of a decaying tree. Which is why I don’t agree with it being a Sudowoodo evo. But either way, I wouldn’t be too upset either.
Well, it is weak to fire, meaning it isn’t part rock, so I don’t see anyway it is an evolution of Sudowoodo. Besides, I would find it questionable for them to pair them together if Orotto was meant to evolve from Sudowoodo, meaning it would be more powerful. I’m pretty sure Horde battles will probably have Pokemon of similar stats be selected for them… which means that Orotto’s stats will probably be a bit on the low side.

Besides, some of the costumes they were showing off really didn’t look like presets XD The question I would have is if presets can be broken apart, or if they HAVE to be worn in that set up and can’t wear pieces individually.
I think it’s more that there are pre-set costumes available as well as pieces you can put together.

When you start your journey, you can choose your skin tone, which comes with a standard hair color: fair skin & blonde, peach skin & brunette, tan skin & brunette. However, in the PSS you clearly see some mix ups like tan skin and blonde.

Well, someone pointed it out, but there is a boulder with cracks right next to the Team Flare Grunt (2:57). So maybe those are the Strength boulders? So maybe Strength will no longer be a HM, since Rhyhorn will get rid of bigger boulders. I say this because in 5th gen, the Strength boulders were so much bigger than the Rock Smash boulders.

Yeah, ghost doesn’t resist Fairy, so they have a weakness now. It will prevent any and all Wonder Guard hacking now, nothing can have it and be immune to direct damage.

Who knows. Hacked Pokemon may be unable to work in online play at all, depending on how they have it set up. We honestly need to see if ‘legit’ hacked Pokemon can get through or not, or if they will be caught and sent back. If they are caught, I think that’ll be great news personally. Because to stop the perfect 31 IVs that were gotten outside of breeding for them. Which, I’ve been trying for that, but I haven’t gotten it yet. I’ve gotten close though, I have a female shinx with max IVs in everything but Defense and Special Defense.

Yeah I have a whole box of shiny RNGed pokemon also. But I really feel that IVs are just unnessesary if there are EVs. Hidden Power could just be customizable via an NPC (*dreams).

The best part of that trailer was Marill ripping into Haxorus. That must have done about 55% of Haxorus’ HP, which means that when Azumarill gets it, it should OHKO it (I’m not doing calculations, it’s just a guess). And it’ll do even more if he didn’t have Huge Power (I’m sure he did though)! It’ll be great seeing my lovable Aqua-Rabbit wreck some of the opponent’s Pokémon!

I was hoping for a regular damaging attack (80 BP or something), but that would be great. Dragon types and Fighting Types both typically have high base Attack, so that would be quite deadly to them. Also, I wonder if Huge Power will still factor into that move. Imagine hitting Garchomp with double his own Attack stat Super-Effectively… Wow, that may seem broken…

I loved Yveltal at the beginning! I think it is going to be my new favorite legendary Pokémon. I wonder how exp. points from horde battles will be counted. I also love Garchomp’s mega evolution, its jaws make it look really evil and at the same time kind of serious.

I’ve always envisioned it as the Pokeballs releasing dark shadows of the Pokémon to attack alongside the Dark Type, kind of like 5 Patronuses from Harry Potter (Patroni?). I’m sure the XY animation will let us down a bit, but I’m sure it will still look great. I loved using that on my Terrakion in VGC 2011 to boost his attack monstrously.
Oh I thoughts they would just show all your pokes attacking 1 at a time like the other games did… but now that you think about it… probably not. =/ I think it isn’t a good move anyways haha but I dunno

Not the best move, but it actually was buffed considerably in Gen V, but you do have to basically have a full team of 6 to use it effectively, and a team of high attack powered dark types too, so once you start losing guys, the move won’t really be worth it… but it would pack quite a punch until then.

Early game gym leader? But she has a Mega probably, right? So she’s at least midgame. I wonder if they’re nerfing her by giving her a smaller team, but an overpowered Mega Evolution (like Sabrina’s Alakazam in one of the old games).
That would make sense. Supposedly, she’s supposed to be the 4th gym leader, which is why I huh’d. But, if that’s where we introduce Mega Pokemon, yeah it would probably help even it out a bit.
Especially if we suspect her of having Mega Lucario. That guy looks wicked tough to beat, and it might just take a whole team of Lv 25 Pokémon to take out one of him at Lv 30.

Well, not really… Mega LUCARIO. Fighting/STEEL. It would thus take normal damage to Fairy attacks, and then would be able to strike back with STAB Steel Mega Powered moves.

I think you could choose gyms in Kanto. That would be cool. It would be MORE cool if when you chose a certain gym to complete, the others would change difficulty. They did something like that in Tales of Symphonia, where you could decide to ‘play the game backwards’ and complete certain dungeons in any order, but the dungeons changed in difficulty depending on which you did first.
Yup in kanto you had a choice in what gymleader you want to face between erika, sabrina or koga. In GSC/HGSS it was Chuck, Jasmine and Pryce
Hell, you could go one step further and skip surge and go straight to Erika if you wanted. Or hell, Skip ALL of them and just focus on team rocket to get into Silph Co. to get Lapras. Not like Surge has anything you need at the time. I mean, you can use Cut thanks to Misty, so just go get Cut, and get to exploring.

Plus, you could go fight Blaine before you fight Erika, Surge, or Sabrina too. You have to beat Koga first though, to be able to Surf.

B/W series focused a lot on the story.

They’ve been about that linear since Gen 3, really. They have story stuff blocking your path usually preventing you from moving on until you have done whatever it wants you to do. Though… I’m wondering if you are able to get through the cave and meet steven without Flash, and deliver the letter, if you’ll be able to skip the second gym for awhile, trigger the events in Slateport, and go on up to fight Wattson… Not sure. I know you can go on to Slateport without having fought the Gym Leader at least I’m pretty sure.
I’ve never used flash in RSE. I always got steel wing before brawly or the flash TM.
Yeah, not like it’s that difficult of a cave, but I generally beat the gym leader first regardless.

You’re right, it does, but Overheat’s not a multi-hit move. I think the pillar that erupts over Flareon is the Plume, but it’d be great if it was a new move.

If it were up to me to pick the animal origination for the next starters of Gen 7, I would go with a Grass Koala, a Fire Werewolf, and a Water Dolphin. I would also put one of the early bugs we encounter as a Grasshopper Pokemon and a Cockroach Pokemon which haven’t been done yet. And the early Bidoof type rodent as a Mole Pokemon.
Now correct me if I am wrong, but isn’t Leavny a grass hopper, or a praying mantis?
It’s a mantis species; grass hoppers are quite different.
I think we could definitely see a grass hopper this gen or the next, the closest one is Kricketune, which is a kricket.
I would love a mosquito, glowworm, scarab beetle, luna moth, ant queen, scorpion fly, Snowberry Clearwing, Goliath stick insect, among others. Bugs are my favorites pokemon!

Kricketune came close to a grasshopper, since a cricket is basically apart of the same bug family as grasshoppers

I’ve seen this screenshot floating around, and it gives a little insight on the Pokedex. A ‘little.’ Pikachu is number 36 in the Kalos Dex, as well as being found in the Central Section of the Region. And whatever the details under the stats are, probably ability, nature, personality traits, stuff like that. In anycase, means we know definitively a few numbers now, as I’d imagine Pichu is 35*though we also seem to be capturing Pikachu, not Pichu, leaving it little more as breeding fodder it seems* and Raichu at 37.

Listen to the sound it makes when Flareon uses it’s move against Orotto. It sounds super-effective which means Orotto is probably Grass type. So it’s probably not an evolution of Sudowoodo. Still a chance for it to be a Grass/Ghost type.

In diamond and pearl you could walk with you’re pokemon in a restricted area and then the next gen BAM you can have your pokemon walk with you. so these are my predictions for the next gen………….. keep in mind this will probably never happen
* the cries will change to the anime sounds (like pikachus)
*get rid of bikes and use pokemon instead
* HMs will be removed and instead it will either happen automactily like releasing a water pokemon next to deep water and then it will sit there for you. or while you ride you’re pokemon you can just press the B button.
I happen to like the non-anime sounds. They sound much more realistic to their real counterparts. Plus it would take up a lot of space since most Pokemon have different names in different places

I remember saying that right beside the Team Flare grunt in 2:57, there is a small rock with cracks. So maybe the bigger boulders that Rhyhorn crushes are the Strength boulders, so Strength may be gone. Plus Rock Smash became a TM last gen

The Pokemon(s) movement seem more fluid and the way the transition puts itself into play is executed really well.

Tuatara that we’ve all been assuming is a Grass gym seems different to me. It looks almost like a tower that you must climb, similar to the elevated platforms where the Elite 4 resided. Could this be a new Elite 4 member’a room?

But that would be highly illogical. Why would you be swinging on rope vines on a tower with beautiful balconies covered with plants in the Tower of Mastery. That would be to much focus on one type for a building that has nothing to do with types in the first place. I think it’s either a gym or an E4 room.

I’m guessing that at the part of your journey in which you explore the mountains, you need to borrow the rhyhorn in front of your house in order to progress.

I don’t get why people are making teams when they only revealed a small portion of pokemon.
They are making teams that consist of old gen pokémon and the kalos starter. Might as well take advantage of what GF is giving us right? But I understand. I too am disappointed that not a lot of people are giving the new ones a chance. Granted, we haven’t been given the whole dex yet, but still.
I too can’t help but to use some old gen Pokémon like Mawile and Chandelure. But the rest, besides Froakie because it’s a given starter, will be new ones! Can’t wait!

I’m starting to think about a team because I like to plan my team beforehand. It sometimes changes (and In this case, it will most likely change) if I see something or think about a certain Pokemon different (or see a new one). I just like a loose plan so I know what to look for and what to do. Plus, some people have their favs that they know will be in their team. How are we supposed to know what will come out? No one will know until it is revealed.
I don’t even have a full team xD I have half of each at least (since I’m getting both). And I’m not even planning on using old Pokemon. Not until I play through it once with just the Kalos Pokemon 😀

My boyfriend had a cool idea that I figured I’d share with you guys. Wouldn’t it be cool if, say, in an ingame tournament you could fight old trainers and characters (like in BW2). And then, after you defeated them, you were either awarded or could purchase clothing/accessories/hair styles that are associated with old characters? Like Red’s hat or Blue’s hair style or hell, Drayden’s beard. I know some people like to dress up with entirely original styles but this still seems like a really cool idea.
Hrm. I don’t think they’d give us Drayden’s beard. No matter how awesome that would be. Don’t forget, our characters are in like the young teenage age. No way would they have a beard of that magnitude.
It was a joke since the game is going for realism. That being said, not many games (like Animal Crossing) mind that logic too much, so it would be really funny to see!
Oh I know. But… Just Drayden’s beard XD The other examples though, they are good. Other then that, they could give us maybe a variation of his outfit. On the main Pokemon site, the little trainer avatars you can have, his outfit is one of the options. But yeah, getting outfits as a reward for beating past trainers would be awesome… They should bring back Silver for that purpose too.

No seriously though, I loved they made Gardevoir a fairy type. Not for type advantages either…just that because it is based on a fairy tale, like a princess and a knight (shame Gallade already has two types). That’s what I thought fairy was going to be. Not just everything cute.
Maybe Fairy type evolutions will be more ‘fairy tale’ oriented. Like, I’m really hoping that Spritzee is based on the plague doctor.

What you just said, is the one thing that keeps whispering at the back of my mind and keeps on bringing me down everytime I try to get excited about X and Y.
Well, I’m just giving my point, like it or not. :
It really isn’t a problem. A large majority of the game is still in 3D, such as cut scenes, battles, and special occasions. The only thing not is the overworld. I’m curious to see how they do it. Demo players say that the 3D is very well done. It is possible the problem is with the frame-rate, as the 3D already drops the quality of attacks with a lot going on.
I know, and I always keep telling myself that. But I have a lots of other 3DS games, which I love to use the 3D effect all the time. It feels really weird playing those games without 3D. I’m just really disappointed that I won’t be able to immerse myself like I did those games. I’m easily betting 99% of the pokemon community doesn’t give 2 cents about the 3D effect, but I really love the effect…..
Ah see I never use the 3D. It gives me headaches and drains the battery so I never saw a use for it. Not to mention, I can’t see the game as well when it is in 3D…
I think you’ll still find yourself immersed.
I have played 3DS games from 7 AM to 12 AM non-stop with the charger attached, max 3D. I never get any headaches. I don’t know why so many people do. Do you move the 3DS around?

Ahhh….I see!!!! So they figet with the 3DS a lot and never hold it perfectly still at the sweet spot. That makes sense.
No. Some people’s eyes are just not adjusted to handle such sensitivity, which proceeds to give them headaches. I get it less often than, say, watching a 3D movie. But my vision gets blurry, and I keep straining to see clearer, which makes my head hurt.
Also it was confirmed a long time ago by the Japan Official Website. Only battles, cut scenes, and special occasions are in 3D.
Looking on the positive side the graphics looks much better because 3D causes frame rate drops!

That’s why they made the 2DS and it is released on the same day.
Lots of people get headaches, nausea, etc. using 3D that has never happened to me though so I can’t tell you what it feels like first hand.
I’m okay with battles since they look so awesome!! 😀 The fact that Game Freak has made this amazing game with brand new things no 3D over world is just a tiny little thing in my opinion.

Keep in mind that international releases are REALLY HARD.
You might think the feature of selecting multiple languages is pretty simple right?
This is actually a HUGE amount of pain in the ass coding, where options would have to literally replace all the text in the entire game. And that’s just one feature.
Compared to everything else in the game, no 3D overworlds doesn’t really take away much.
I’m saying for people who are super hyped about the WHOLE games being in 3D, it’s a letdown. Some may be thinking if they didn’t make the whole game in 3D, why didn’t they just make it for DS? I don’t know, and my opinions are at crossroads now.
There is more to the 3DS than the 3D. People don’t seem to realize how good the 3DS really is. It’s no Vita, but it is capable of quite a lot.
For one, the WiFi is considerably stronger and better. GF wanted a more connected Pokemon game and the 3DS could handle it.
For two, the DS is not as powerful as the 3DS. To give a perspective, the DS had the power of a PS1…barely. The 3DS…has the power of a PS2. Huge difference there. For as much as GF wanted to do with this game, the 3DS was the obvious choice.
For three, the 3DS is a highly marketed product. It is the top selling game unit on the market right now. Why put a highly anticipated and desired game on a dying system?
For four, the 3D is still there. It’s only the map that lacks it most likely due to frame-rate reasons. Complaining about the WHOLE game not being in 3D is grasping for straws.
Five, they are apparently updating friend codes to instead be account based and can most likely cross with the Wii U. Not only can you cross buy but most likely games will be connected in the future between the 3DS and Wii U.
Six, apps and stuff, like Pokemon Bank as an example.
See? Lots of reasons to why the 3DS is a logical choice, besides just the 3D.

Grass has too many weaknesses as a stand alone type (5 total) I’m not sure if it ties with another pure type with most weaknesses. Just because it’s Grass-type doesn’t mean a third of the types have to walk on it.

I know, I have many Grass-types that I love, like Roserade, Tropius, Whimsicott, and Meganium, among many others.
Rock types are kind of abused too.
They should just give every grass type pokemon Earth Power like they did Ice Beam to water types and Solarbeam to fire types
I wish Sceptile had Earth Power…with its Special Attack and all =/
Or Rock-type moves, that covers everything except Poison-types.
Now that you mentioned it, Ice could of had the potential to resist Fairy, I mean, Ice only resists itself.
I was really hoping they’d make some types more balanced that don’t get enough, like grass, bug and ice. Well they did make poison and steel better.
If you asked me when Megas or Fairies were released, I;d say yep. But now, I have no disappointments. I might have some, but right now, a few small disappointments is nothing compared to what I like about this game.

Xerneas being mono-typed. If it was Fairy/Grass, It would have fair type advantages against Yveltal (One type is super effective against the opponent and the other is not very effective).
Also, Poison still isn’t super effective against Water and Grass should have been resistant to Fairy.

I was struggling with the sand cave forever and I just came back to it today and did it first try. I guess time does heal!
I’m just not good at PMD games. I beat PMD Gates to Infinity. Maybe that’s because I felt very encouraged to beat the game and its plot felt very close to home… The credit scene made me cry non-manly tears of sadness ;_;
Never played Gates to Infinity, but I may pick it up sometime in the future.
It’s a little bit easier than the others,but it’s a masterpiece for the truly heartbreaking plot and well-devoloped characters.Its a buy for sure!
I was like that too, except at random places. But then, the more I played it and gained experience, the easier it became beating it over and over (I played that game so many times)

Well, I’m done w/homework, MegaXatu checked it, I evaluated and reflected, and now, I can call it a night (whew). It’s been a stressful and hardworked week for me, since in my class, we do tons of work and it involves some major thinking and interpreting. Yeah. So how are y’all holding up (no I’m not southern if anyone’s asking XD) with everything? Life? X/Y? Pokemon as a whole? I’m EXHAUSTED, I wish I could just go to sleep and wake up on Oct. 12th.
Um well, I have an interview tomorrow, just realized Bleach is no longer online (but Magi is and that’s what counts), had a really awful day at work and it’s not going to get better, my birthday is this weekend, my cousin is coming to stay with us for six weeks soon and I’m not incredibly thrilled, really struggling to convince my parents to let my boyfriend visit for Christmas (it’s a long distance relationship), finances is bullshit and I suck at it, the page for my RP is down for services or some crap, still waiting for another episode of Korra, and I’m starting to seriously crave my copy Pokemon X right now.
Not much positive happening right now. :/
I feel that Korra can help for a little while til X and Y releases in fact she’ll end that long Friday the day before the release
