The official site for the Pokemon Movies (here, in Japanese) has updated and revealed some small tidbits about the plot on the ‘Director’s Comments’ page.
The movie takes place inside of an extremely cold mountain which has an abandoned steelworks inside. The sacred swordsmen, Cobalion, Terrakion, and Virizion, encountered Kyurem here. They challenged it and Kyurem created the ‘Ice Dragon Gate’, a special battle field.
The director went on to talk about the themes of the movie, saying they were simply focusing on Friendship and Comradery.

Yeah, and the Zoroark movie was supposed to deal with the relationship of people and pokemon. I think it’s safe to say that the writers of pokemon movies are no great philosophers.
I recently watched the 14th movie, and thought it was the best one in a long time, far superior to all of the diabolical diamond and pearl ones. I’m actually looking forward to watching this one, as I’m sort of getting back into the films!

Friendship and cameraderie (I assume you meant that, or comradeship, you kinda merged them) are the themes of not just every Pokemon Anime, but of just about EVERY Shonen Anime ever. At least they said “simply”.

i hope this this will be one of the rather interesting pokemon movies that i will watch.
