SPOILER: First Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon Leaks [UPD 6]

WARNING! SPOILERS AHEAD! WARNING!

Users across the internet have begun posting images and information they claim to be extracted from the digital versions of Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon.

Although we do not plan to cover major spoilers in the form of images from leaks this early, here’s what we know about USUM so far:

POKÉMON

  • There are no new Alolan Forms
  • UB: Adhesive evolves into Naganadel via level up with Dragon Pulse. Changing from pure Poison to Poison/Dragon upon evolution. A fast special attacker
  • New Pokémon/Ultra Beast names are as follows:
    • Poipole (UB: Adhesive) // Poison-type
    • Naganadel (UB: Adhesive evolution) // Poison/Dragon-type
    • Stakataka (UB: Assembly) // Rock/Steel-type
    • Blacephalon (UB: Burst) // Fire/Ghost-type
    • Zeraora (Mythical Legendary) // Electric-type, Fast and offensive with 600 BST

MOVES

  • Mimikyu’s Z-Move is called Snuggle Forever // Physical, Fairy-type, 190
  • Plasma Fists – “The user attacks with electrically charged fists. This move changes Normal-type moves to Electric-type moves”

OTHER

  • Some music has leaked from the games, but we won’t be posting it here
  • Ultra Space encounters aren’t shiny locked
  • This has already been hinted at throughout pre-release, but it’s been confirmed that the worlds you visit via the Ultra Space have humans within them, and most can be battled
  • Shiny hunters rejoice! The only things shiny locked are Necrozma, Solgaleo, Lunala, the Tapus, and gift Pokémon other than Poipole (highlight to view). All Ultra Space encounters are not shiny locked

MAJOR SPOILERS (Highlight to View)

  • Necrozma has a third form called Ultra Necrozma. It transforms into this third form after using it’s Z-Move as Dusk Mane/Dawn Wings Necrozma in battle
  • You battle Hau instead of Kukui for your first battle as Champion
  • Team Rainbow Rocket’s objective is to rule the universe and build an army of Ultra Beasts
  • Ash appears in the game code along side other NPCs, and may appear in game
  • You are gifted a Pikachu that knows Surf for getting the top rank in all four Surf Spots. The NPC that gives it to you has a Pikachu that knows Fly
  • The Kahunas in USUM are the same as in Sun & Moon
  • The Elite Four in USUM consists of Hala, Olivia, Acerola, and Molayne
  • The trials in USUM are the same as in Sun & Moon, except it adds on Mina’s Fairy Trial, and one “unknown” one (according to the game’s code)
  • Mohn returns to the Aether Paradise
  • Marowak, Araquanid, Togedemaru, and Ribombee are the new Totem Pokémon. The former three replace Salazzle, Wishiwashi and Vikavolt respectively
  • You get Poipole as an in-game gift Pokémon

    • Yeah I’m actually pretty excited too. Though it makes me sad that regular Sun and Moon will become generally forgotten and probably remembered as mediocre in comparison to these

        • Yeah they were good. Naturally I tend to be critical of things that I like (I even have criticism for masterpieces like Breath of the Wild) but they really were good, and definitely cleansed the pallet from Gen 6, though I liked ORAS a lot.

  1. As for the sprites, I kind of knew UB Adhesive would get an evo, and I’m honestly not sure what the other one could be. I just think it’s a just new UB tho, since it’s with the other new UBs

  2. If we get a new Eeveelution (which I doubt) what’s everyone’s type preference? I think I’d like Dragon, Fighting, Ghost or Bug most

  3. So from what I understand, there are 4 or 5 new Ultra Beasts that we previously didn’t know of, along with a new form of Necrozma. Exciting!

  4. Sooo…
Poipole is Adhesive, Naganadel is Assembly, Staktaka is Burst, Blacepholon is Adhesive’s evo, and Zeraora is Yellow guy

  5. I’m really hyped to see what these Pokemon look like, non-sprite style. Shouldn’t be too long considering last year’s events. I’m especially excited for Blacepholon and Zeraora.

    Reply
  6. Oh crap, Zeraora is a new mythical apparently. Will probably be distributed in 2018 to tide the time until Pokemon Switch in 2019.

  7. May I say this has been the most unconventional pre-release season of a pokemon game ever. Started super low and there were several ups and downs along the way, but it’s finally culminated to this. I’m actually really excited.

  8. Idk if I should really spoiler cap or not but

    (About the article)
That yellow Sprite looks AMAZING it probably could be my favourite electric type cuz I don’t have many favourites, so yeah all new Pkms introduced so far are amazing (except you dusk, you know why)

    (Some random thing I found)

Necrozma battle theme is awesome like wow, one of the best in the franchise o_o

  10. Ok I’ll just say this one last thing and then never touch in it again. GF are stupid to not have made more Alolan forms. Even if it was only ever going to be a gen 7 thing why wouldn’t they make at least a couple new lines to finish off the gen? It’s such a waste of the mechanic. I’m disappointed in them honestly….I’ll get over it, but I’m still sad…..ok done lol

    Reply
    • I agree with you. I hate that they seemed to put the focus on z moves when more people would have loved new alolan forms. Still will get the game. Maybe next or maybe a little later since I plan to get my switch this week

      Reply
    • I feel the same way, they could of atleast added 5 more, I mean why build all they hype around alola being so diverse that pokemon have different variants yet not show it enough, I think they should of atleast added more, but what am I talking about this is game freak lol

      Reply
    • I’m just hoping they make regional variants for the other regions too… I could definitely see “Sinnohan Forms” happening for the Gen 4 Remakes

      Reply
      • We’ll see I guess, but I won’t hold my breath. I guess I’ve finally find my one mechanic that I hate they’re essentially taking out. Some people miss walking Pokemon. Others want a new BF. I just want regional variants lol

        Reply
        • Bc it makes so much sense and it’s a “second chance” to spice up a Pokémon that otherwise sucks (looks at marowak) and it’s good world-building.

          Reply
          • agree, I loved the idea of regional variants, so long its in moderation I accept it, they should of added a few more though to wrap things up more nicely.

        • me too, it was a concept I wanted to see for a very long time, and for them to just drop it like it never happened sucks, especially they putting so many pokemon in this time, come on spice it up lol

          Reply
        • Honestly I would trade in all of this other stuff for new alolan forms any day. I jus Don’t see why they would not expand on this mechanic and I would love if the creators spoke out about this decision to make me feel better. Just for the fact of no new alolan forms, I’ll be in no rush to buy this game

  11. Like honestly, all the cool shirt designs in SM were the guy ones and I was pissed.
Like I wear graphic tees all the time, not frilly blouses

  12. So these do seem to be the English names. Just found the Pokedex and this is how these names are written. I don’t even know how to say these lol.

    Reply
  13. So next year’s Pokemon movie will probably be centered on Zeraora and another mythical from Gen 8. In fact, there isn’t really much of a question about it.

    Reply
  14. Gosh I hope Piopole is obtainable before the game’s story ends. I’d love to take it on my team, I haven’t seen a close up image or model of it’s evolution, but I can tell I will fall in loove with it by just looking at the sprite!
Also I’m kinda upset that Zeraora is a legendary, it’s so freaking Cool, wish I could take it on my journey too.

  15. So what are we thinking about the datamine? Nothing too groundbreaking and USUM has just a slightly better postgame. On the fence about it all.

    Reply
    • I’ll say I’m impressed. USUM was not the game I wanted, as I wanted a sequel to Sun and Moon, but they seem to have put a lot of work into this one with half the studio devs. HOWEVER, their marketing was straight sh*t lol.

      Reply
    • I’m content about it, but that might be because I don’t care much for postgame since I never usually play it and either shiny hunt or restart games to play through it again

  16. Has the full pokedex leaked yet? I know the last part (UB’s, etc.) has. Still planning my team and want to know what’s available 🙂

  20. I’m really excited to see these sprites in-game, especially Zeraora and Naganadel. I know we’re going to be waiting until October/November 2018 for that distribution, but I think it’s going to be worth it. Also, isn’t it amazing that we can talk about November 2018 in reality now? I mean we’re so close to 2020, and that sounds super futuristic to me for some reason. Not for long…

  27. So it seems Incineroar got a ton of move tutor support gaining theee important moves in superpower (not like that does much), Drain Punch (which it’s not strong enough to utilize), and knock off (which is now probably going to make it a good bit more viable)

  32. Poipole has a spot on my team (and probably everyone elses). Slightly disappointed in no new A. Forms but its ok. Im surprised about Riombee and can only imagine how strong its gonna be in battle cause its pretty damn good without being a “T”

  34. I am a bit disappointed.

    No new Alola Forms.
    Just 3 new UBs.
Necrozma forms have poor stats in speed and defenses. DW is basically OU already.
    Necrozma 3rd form is meh.
Move tutors are basically the same as ORAS.
The story is not that different as GF said.
They revealed all new z moves.
    Zygarde still shiny locked.
    Ash is in the game.

I like the new mythical but not really impressed about all the other stuff.

    Reply
    • I need to see more of Ultra-Necrozma beyond the I-don’t-know-what-the-hell-that-is-mess that we curently have to form an opinion, because I’m glad they went with the concept but I don’t know what to think about it’s appearance.

Zeroara is pretty cool but like WTF why, Naganadel looks amazing

The lack of new Alolan forms is sad, infuriating, and insulting tbh, poor effort. Especially since they directed efforts into a pretty unimpressive number of new Z-moves instead (and like who cares).

Do we know enough story beats to judge at this stage?

As for Ash, I hope it’s some sort of interdimensional easter egg, as others suggested… At this stage I’m a bit sceptical/worried

But then again this is exactly the kind of maddening half-assed weirdness we should all be accustomed to by now. I’m pretty disappointed, but not surprised, at all. I hope they put a little more coherent effort into Gen VIII.

Still, the games will be great, just not what they could have been.

      Reply
  35. Sorry this is coming off rude for me to ask again, but does anyone have a dex list? Not the national one. Just Alola’s. Preferably in island order, but if it’s just a list of names in general then that’s ok too lol

  40. So it’s time to decide my final team
    Incineroar is obviously my starter
And Kommo-o as a Jangmo-o is a gift to me after the first trial
And honestly I’m having doubts about Dusk and kinda feel like maybe Midnight because I am just so much more compatible with it
And as for a Ground type either Sandygast or Mudbray
    Golisopod is a must
And either just get another Crabrawler or Stufful or maybe try for a Dhelmise

    Reply
    • You could do a lot of sets with Sandygast as I am aware, so I say go with it over Mudbray is you already tried Mudbray in SM. And Dhelmise is also good because of its ability, move set, and typing.

    • Decidueye
      Noivern

-get ash ketchum tf outta the game, he has his own canon and he should stick to it imho :/ it was weird enough getting Ash greninja in game. I know this is an anniversary tie-in but it’s weeeiiird

  66. So 2 more things I’d like to know prior to playing the game. First how early can you obtain the Totem sized Pokemon? Are the sticker around from the start or is it later in the game that they suddenly appear all around. Is it possible to play a decent pat of the game with one on your team. Like if I wanted to use a Totem sized Salazzle? Second. I saw someone mention that the PC had some new origination Quality of life features? Was I mistaken in seeing that or is that true?

Poll wise, Hala has been voted off. Hala gets 9th place which I am pretty happy! Hala is my favorite Fighting type specialist, so I appreciate he made top 10! He’s cool, funny, strong, and a very cool design. Cool points.

    • post games only exist when there isn’t “enough” story imo The way I see it, if there is a poor post game, then the main game will probably be amazing

      Reply
      • The thing is the main story is not replayable without erasing the save file and strating over.
Post Game facilities are there to keep interest in the game after you’ve completed the main story…(and can sometimes take a lot longer than the story to complete)

Post Game stuff is also not obligatory so you have a choice to do it or not, or do part of it came back to it later giving you freedom. The story is almost always linear and in most cases you are locked into doing something befire yoi can continue. This restriction doesn’t exist in a good post-game.

        Reply
      • -We have a whole post game story
        -An entire Legendary capturing thing
        -A lot of quests

I’m not always spot on but lets go!!

Today, I wanna tackle UB Burst, aka, Blacephalon

This thing is… interesting. It has garbage defensive stats but strong mixed attacking (127 and 151) stats along with a slightly above average speed of 107. It seems like it might be decent if it utilized choice items or a life orb. It’s immune to a majority of priority attacks but is weak to aqua jet (accelrock is on such a terrible mon it won’t even deal with it). The biggest issue it has is coverage. It gets fire, ghost, dark, and a single rock and a single psychic type move: That’s it. It can run a few interesting physical moves like knock off but in most cases the special set is superior. Here it can run moves like heat wave and shadow ball. It also gets calm mind but the actual amount of times you will get to set up are nearly non existent. Considering the thing dies so easily, it’s fair to assume Mind blown will be fairly viable. It also gets a few status moves like Will-o-wisp. I can see this Pokemon ending up in UU. It’s not able to do very much but it’s extremely potent at the things it does. I imagine the lack of coverage will hold it back from being anything too impressive.

    Next Pokemon: Stakataka

I imagine that the Poipole/Naganadel will have some sort of Acid rain perhaps, and maybe trees that look like needles? Obviously a purple atmosphere. If any of them don’t have a dimension I think these are the most likely to not have them

Stakataka will look like a fortress (almost like Ruined Kingdom in Odyssey) with singular Cells and a few Stakatakas floating around.

Finally, I believe Blacephalon will look almost like a circus, but distorted, with dangerous stunts our trainers will have to perform (just puzzles really)

But like, Blacephalon and Stakata are actually found in Poni Grove and don’t have themes mined for their worlds like the UBs from SuMo, and Poipole’s Dex entry is as follows:

Poipole: This Ultra Beast is well enough liked to be chosen as a first partner in its own world.

Which makes it seem like it’s from Ultra Megalopolis’ dimension

  161. Competitive Pokemon number 2!: Stakataka
There’s over 103 Pokemon that have been introduced throughout gen 7 so far. (One probably won’t be out until next year but eh). Out of all of them, including niche Pokemon like Komala and other strange members of the generation, UB assembly, aka, Stakataka, manages to be one of the worse. No.. seriously… this thing is on part with regice, that takes SKILL to be that useless….
Regardless, if you look far enough… this mon has a MINOR use in doubles

The moveset you’d run to get ANYTHING out of this mon is this

-Gyro Ball (This Pokemon actually hits surprisingly hard for something that has defenses like it does. Essential.
    – Toxic (for them nice whittles yo)
    – Protect (This is basically essentially on doubles mons really. More important if paired with Azelf)
-Skill swap (Oddly it gets this from move tutor. This move defines the set)
-Alternatively Infestation can be run instead of one of the other non essential moves if ya wanna be a dick

Now why Skill swap? Because Beast boost is next to useless on this thing. It would pair well with either an Exeggutor/Trevenant or Azelf. Why these? Well
    1. They have harvest, an ability that if given to Stakboi, baaasically makes it invulnerable with the right berry.
    2. Azelf gives Levitate which eliminates any risk of it getting killed by a 4x weak earthquake.
    3. They get beast boost, an ability a better (or at least not as shitty) mon can utilize
In return it gives them Beast boost. While it makes the harvest mons a lot stronger, this would make Azelf downright TERRIFYING. So as your little blue menance is tearing the enemy team piece by piece or as your tree begins to buff itself slowly, you spam gyros and your supportive moves to be a general piece of human garbage. This allows it to carve an extremely niche yet strange role within doubles. There’s easily a gazillion better options but this one is just kinda fun and the fact that this thing is basically useless in 99% of other occasions isn’t a good sign.

If you think of any more skill swap partners, lemme know

    Next Up: Naganadel

      Reply
      • Won’t work, trust me.
This is basically the best way to run it. Your set currently basically lets it do nothing. The way you’re running it would require recovery. Just run Brave, the thing has high enough defense already

        Reply
    • Ummm…im guessng you are basing this on doubles but even so I personally see a TR set as being more useful (considering it gets TR itself as well). It can also counter TR since it outslows the likes of Torkoal.

Toxic Stalling isn’t really a great strategy in doubles considering how fast paced it is. Using Wide Guard to avoid EQ and Rock Slide off that high attack stat would also be more useful in doubles.

    • Don’t get excited, the mushrooms aren’t physically changing or paras either, it’s just that the Tochukaso aren’t growing properly but not so much they cause immense change in physiology, I mean mushrooms need cold wet decomposing areas to thrives and alola is just too warm and sunny

      • I have a feeling, and I have had this for a while when I heard about Blacephelon-it was actually one of the images that the Chinese Riddler used for the SM leak season but now we are finally seeing it in USUM. It is probably the same case for Oddish and Paras. The other team has already made these regional forms, it is just that they are saving them for the next generation on the Switch. Remember, every generation needs to pander to Gen I in some way-Gen V being the exception to the rule.

        Reply
        • I just think Oddish and Paras were fake tbh

People expected new alolans so they used it as an advantage for their leaks

          Reply
          • It is true that other people used them to their advantage. But I am saying that this is a similar case because the Riddler backed up the Alolan Oddish one along with everything else that turned out right. He already has credibility from last season, and he got everything else right. It makes the most sense for him to back up this seemingly incorrect piece of info if it is reserved for the next generation.

    • Whilst I do think Paras should’ve got an Alolan, this doesn’t really mean anything for an Alolan. Its plant may not have optimum growth, but if it still works as intended it won’t change much.

      Reply
      • Exactly, unless something causes a direct change to Paras’s body or the shrooms so much that it needs to change to survive
Like introduction of a new predator (unless the shrooms just live off the predator, then it’s just paras being hunted)
Or a new species of mushrooms growing on paras that do not indulge in parasitism and actually benefits paras

    • It takes a bit of getting used to from it going from fast attacker to the bulkiest Alola starter, and until you get Flare Blitz (or Fire Punch, thanks USUM) it honestly feels more like a pure Dark-type.

It’s also the hardest starter to use purely against bosses, it has bad matchups with all the Kahunas and only has a good match up with Lurantis and arguably Mimikyu. However, the Elite 4 in USUM is more forgiving to it than the one in SuMo.

It gets Drain Punch in USUM via tutor, and one of its moveslots should be dedicated to a stat booster (SD or Bulk Up)

          • Did they find out where the move tutor in USUM is or is it in the same place as SM? I’ve been trying more on this gen to work on coverage, abilities, natures and movesets based on stats.

      • Really? I thought Deci was the worst against most bosses and kahunas. If anything I thought Inci was the best against the bosses.

          • I was thinking against Acerola’s Palossand and Drifblim it could do good but I didn’t use mine for her so I’m not sure 😡

          • Well I had Deci, Riombee, Toucannon, Salazzle, Mudsdale and Bewear so I had other pokemon to use when Deci couldn’t handle it but I think my Deci was only able to take out Palossand.

          • From a type perspective maybe, but it has so many weaknesses that the bosses use, and it is the weaker offenses, so it can do as much in return.

          • EV training if you spend the time doing that or grinding the game is easy enough to do a solo play-through with any pokemon

  174. So I’m going to experiment with many different Kommo-o builds and once USUM comes out,

I need to decide if Special or Physical is the best choice and paired with the better buff: DDance, Bulk Up, Clangorous Soulblaze, Choice, Automize, Belly Drum

Physical is looking better since Drain Punch and Close-Combat is just too good to avoid and Iron Head and Poison Jab gives it a chance to fight back Fairies

But the luxury of a Special Fighting type is nice but lacks decent moves, Clanging Scales, Focus Blast, Flamethrower Flash Cannon and any of the HPs is all you’d ever see

Or the rare Mixed Sweeper because I can easily see Skarmory just stalling if it’s not carrying Flamethrower

But to pull this off it needs a buff to speed otherwise it’s vulnerable, so I’d definitely need a Sticky Web to help it,

  181. So right now I’m planning on having Turtonator on my team for US. But now I’ve seen the Chimchar line is available via Island Scan, I’m debating which one I should use. I already have a dragon type with Noivern/Naganadel but I think Turtonator would be interesting to use. However, Infernape would be reliable for my team with the fighting type. Any advice?

    Reply
    • Infernape with imo Iron Fist is really good. And with the punches back, it makes it a much better choice in these games. Imo if you want, breed a HA Chimchar, and maybe simce they are egg moves, breed it knowing both Thunder, Fire, and Power-Up Punch. You will love it, trust me. I think Jolly nature will work best for it too.

Still thinking of a 6th member, but I have my eye on Noivern for some time.

So here is my team for my US run. I haven’t used Decidueye yet but I will in my UM run.

    -Astolfo the Primarina (Male)
    -Tombunny the Lopunny (???)
    -Bipolar the Magnezone
    -Amazon the Lurantis (Totem?)
    -??? the Mimikyu (Totem)
    -Nagamodo the Naganadel

I have already figured out the nicknames for all of them but Mimikyu. Some of my Pokémon will have to be a certain sex because of the nickname that I used-Primarina and Lopunny (maybe). The nickname for Lopunny can work for either sex. I may have to change the nickname for Lurantis if I can’t get a HA Totem Lurantis. Any thoughts/comments/recommendations.

  186. Thanks everyone for your comments on my US team and suggestions for names. Especially for Mimikyu. Currently standing, here is my team and their nicknames.

    -Astolfo the Primarina (Male)
    -Tombunny the Lopunny
    -Bipolar the Magnezone
    -Amazon the Lurantis (Totem?)
    -Loki the Mimikyu (Totem)
    -Nagamodo the Naganadel

Now I know that I was given a lot of great suggestions, however when I was responding to PikaPerfect about how I want a unique nickname for my Mimikyu, Thor had autofilled for one of the words that I mistyped. Then everything just clicked. Both Loki and Mimikyu were individuals that have to be disguised in order for them to be accepted to their respective society. They both want to be accepted by society. Both Fairies and Gods of Mischief are…well known for mischief. Loki and Mimikyu can have there more sinister moments due to the formers allegiances and personality, and the latters ghost typing. This woukdn’t have been possible it weren’t for the thoughtful replies that I had received. Thus, once again I am thankful. And to leave things on a closing tangent, I will give Dae points to whoever is the first one that can figure out the origin/reasoning behind Primarina’s nickname.

Litten, Rockruff (Dusk), Mimikyu (I’m gonna breed one and transfer it over like after the first trial so I can use it more), Passimian, Wishwashi, and Morelull
As for UM, it’s gonna be a SBQ where I get two before Kahuna battle (exception is the 2 extras which will be before the league and not before hapu) and they are
Popplio, Noibat, Mareep, Bounsweet, Sandygast, and Houndour (with the two ‘extras’ being Mienfoo and Drampa) I might do one more to celebrate being the BQ by SRing a UB or legend but we’ll see lol
I have yet to come up with nicknames, but that’s cause life has been busy

    1. Pikachu (Nature: Lonely) Holding Pikanium Z
Moves: Thunderbolt, Brick Break, Electro Ball, Volt Tackle
    2. Decidueye (Nature: Jolly) Holding Deciduium Z
Moves: Spirit Shackle, Leaf Blade, Roost, Phantom Force
    3. Incineroar (Nature is either Brave or Naughty) Holding Incinium Z (depending when we get it)
Moves: Darkest Lariat, Fire Punch, Revenge, Flare Blitz
    4. Samurott (Nature: Either Naive or Hasty) Holding Waterium Z
Moves: Razor Shell, Swords Dance, Aqua Jet, Sacred Sword
    5. Lycanroc {Dusk Form} (Nature: Adamant) Holding Lycanium Z
Moves: Accelrock, Iron Tail, Fire Fang, Stone Edge
    6. Noivern (Nature: Modest) Holding…IDK yet
Moves: Dragon Pulse, Air Slash, Flamethrower, Draco Meteor

My main theme of this team is basically eveyone has a signiture move, and each of them has a big finisher move. Cannot wait till my exams are up in 2 weeks to try this team lol

    Reply
    • A few things to say:
Incineroar – Unless it’s for personality reasons Adamant is better, without special moves you might as well not lower speed or special defense.
Samurott – Again unless for personality you’re better off Jolly or Adamant with those moves.
Noivern – I think Timid is better.

      Reply
      • Its just for purely fun, so the first 2 are kinda having natures that would fit their….style? I assume Hasty suits a Samurai better. The Modest nature was recommended to me by Earthen here, and by the looks of it, its speed is OK compared to its Sp. Atk that needs a bit of work. But to each his own 😉

I may do Sandile too, but I’m not sure. I don’t think I NEED egg moves on Sandile, but having it a bit earlier than the norm would be a good thing. I traded eggs over for almost all of my team in B2 so this would be a very similar situation.

    Reply
    • It would be nice, but that won’t happen……Time to move on from the things that AREN’T in the games and focus on what IS in the games I suppose. Even without Alolan forms there’s still plenty of good stuff in these games I’m assuming. Should prolly focus on the positives more than the negatives.

      • Believe me, I’m not one of those who’s angry for the lack of new forms or a bigger post game. We are in the era of additional content via download, and it would be awesome to see Game Freak releasing the content that everyone expected after the release.

    Reply
    • I think they are all just disappointed that they can’t go back to Kanto. Like I’m not too sure where they got the idea that we would, but its that false hope that to me is why they are saying its bad. But overall the content and everything else is a step up from SM.

      Reply
      • That’s what I figured. From what I’ve seen the post game is about the same more or less as ORAS and people LOVED ORAS’s post game. It’s a little story and then a ton of legend/regular mon hunting. The only thing missing that ORAS did have is dexnav, but I won’t get into that haha

        Reply
        • Island Scan is a good replacement. I still kinda miss small things like the Bike. But this is a major improvement over SM. I mean a lot of the new Pokemon, and I mean A LOT desperately needed Move Tutors, and to me, they were a well loved and welcomed addition to USUM. Also personal grudge, as a person who played since Yellow, most complaining don’t really seem to even play the game. I saw someone when ordering Ultra Sun complaining about how it was unoriginal. When I asked him what he thought of Platinum or Emerald versions, he looked at me as if I was lying, and asked me what they were…

          Reply
          • I get ya. You’re right tho. I’ve seen people that don’t even have 3ds systems complaining. It’s like what the hell is even happening? lol But yeah as someone who has also been playing since Yellow I have agree with you. There are always things Pokemon can do better, but people LOVE to complain until they end up hating a perfectly good game. It’s a bit frustrating sometimes. They get themselves all worked up over stuff that’s not in the game only to blind themselves to what is in the games.

          • True, you wouldn’t believe the amount of complaints I got when people found out I bought a Switch. I even got people complaining and asking me why I got my PS4 at launch. I like them.
As for USUM, its making more excited for them. The new story, the new Lycanroc form is efficiently the best, and my personal favorite form, and Incineroar and Oshawott got insanely useful moves that I was in disbelief for a moment XD

    Reply
    • I don’t know for sure, but I’d be willing to bet they wouldn’t force people to make that decision. It’s prolly something you can change back and forth as you please. I don’t think they’ve ever made any forms that are “permanent” in that way.

        • Oooooooh ok I get ya. Meanwhile they can’t shut up about how great Emerald is at the same time…….Pokemon fans are so weird

          Reply
          • Not surprised in the slightest. It’s more like the former anyway. Also why did you feel the need to put Rayquaza in a spoiler? Emerald is a 13 year old game hahaha

          • because USUM lets you do something similar and I’m spoiler tagging it so people don’t notice

          • Because Pokemon fans LOVE to complain. They’ll complain to the end of time. It doesn’t even matter if they get what they want. If it’s not up the highest standard and the games aren’t the end all be all it’s trash for whatever reason. Even when they get what they want it’s still not enough. There are many gaming fandoms like this bear in mind

          • Nope, they still need to reach the hands of the average person. Then the real ridicule will start hahaha

          • The only pokemon games that I’ve ever legitimately seen fans call trash are X&Y though. Everything else is just complaints about features of the games, which are all usually fair criticisms. Just because we love pokemon doesn’t mean we can’t critique it.

          • Not saying critiques aren’t good. Just saying sometime people completely condemn certain games without properly weighing the pros and cons. Like to a lot of fans if it doesn’t have BF then it’s not worth playing. That or they’ll play, but constantly complain that the BF isn’t in it.

          • Oh well yeah, it’s the ultimate way to battle in pokemon. They’ve given it to us I think 3 times now, taking it out has always left a huge hole. It should def be complained about every time. Just battle tower and factory skins don’t cut it for me.

          • I just find BF boring and only really fun for competitive players that want to test their perfectly bred Pokemon. Battling so many trainers for only a badge with no real value doesn’t sound like a good time…..but that’s just me I guess

          • I just think it’s better than battling competitively where everyone uses the same team. If they can spice it up or find a better alternative with at least as many styles of battle, I’m all for it.

          • Also I enjoyed that it allowed you to train your own mons. It was a good spot to get your team up to the higher levels. All that and it was still a decent challenge

          • Yeah that’s part of why I thought B2W2 had such a great post game, it had a lot of different things to do. Pokestar studios, PWT, musicals, battle subway, white tree hollow and black tower. That’s basically a whole battle frontier in one game.

          • Catching the Regis (which requires some detetective skills before the internet). The Kyogre/Groudon roaming was nice too. The rematch system was great. You had contests which I liked more than what came after it. And don’t forget building hideouts.

          • No it wasn’t, when you reached the cave everything was in braille, but the manual came with a braille alphabet so you knew what to do. I found out everything myself.

          • Yes, but that’s what made it awesome lol. You had this weird stuff in the manual, but eventually you found out what it was needed for.

          • I like the idea of the BF, but the fact that it’s so droning and reliant on you battling so many npcs in a row is dumb. Yeah sure it’s a challenge, but at the same time if it’s not fun then what’s the point? Yeah sure I could battle 70 people with almost no reward at the end or I could do something else that feels more tangible.

The first run where they only let you have one was prolly just them tying to make things special for the run up to the movie (which was dumb to begin with. Now it seems you can use the code PIKACHUM20 to get Original Hat Pika even if you’ve gotten a hat pika before. I assume they’ll either release other codes for the other versions or you can use the same code to get them all just in their own time periods.
