Base Stats for New Mega Evolutions Allegedly Posted with Hoopa Form Change

Bond697, Slashmolder, Kaphotics, and SciresM from Project Pokémon have posted stats for the new Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Take these with a grain of salt, but based on their track record with X/Y ROM information they are plausible. They have also posted a what is supposedly a form change for Hoopa.

  1. ACTUAL QUOTE FROM ORAS:
    I knew my team makeup was still off. Then…I guess I need to take this guy out. No, if I do that, I’ll be wide open for… Hmm… Then if I replace this move here… Yeah… Yeah, that should do it! Oh! Excuse me! I couldn’t help myself! But you’re just as brilliant in battle as ever, [VAR TRNAME(0000)]! Still, don’t you count on me just losing to you forever. I’ve met a lot of people who have helped me grow since coming to the Battle Resort, and it has reminded me all over again how much fun it is to really go all out in battle! Thanks again, [VAR TRNAME(0000)]! Let’s battle again sometime!

  2. the leaker said here was no mention of Juan, nor the Frontier Brains.
    But 5 new names stick out because they are listed between the Elite Four and Steven… Lao, Kelvin, Carnation, Josephine and Felix.

  6. I’m so nervous. If they don’t find the names of Anabel, Tucker, Noland, Lucy, Spenser, Greta, and Brandon, we’re screwed. Also, where is this Battle Resort term coming from? Is it in the coding that the leakers dumped? And those names near the Elite Four members, how many of them are there? If there’s only four or something, I hate to say it guys, but it’s gonna be a shitty Battle Maison like facility. Remember?

  8. I quote from Pokebeach:

    “I spoke to Kaphotics, one of the programmers who found the Mega Evolution, and it appears that the demo is a stripped-down version of the game from a programming perspective rather than its own thing. Many Pokemon models were ripped out of the demo along with descriptions for several new moves, but some scraps of data were still left in. As such, Mega Hoopa’s full-blown model isn’t actually in the demo’s coding – the model you see to the right is perhaps an overworld model for Mega Hoopa or used for some other unknown purpose in the game. Gamefreak perhaps forgot to remove the model due to an oversight or in thinking that fans would not be able to go into the demo’s coding. Alas!

    We were also told that while the model may be for Mega Hoopa, there’s a chance it could be something else related to Hoopa (such as a forme). It has an 80 BST increase, which goes against the grain for Mega Evolutions.”

    #2. What are the new egg moves for all the new megas

  10. I really hate to say it guys, but if they don’t find the Frontier Brain names and those 4 names or so near the Elite Four are the only new ones, the Battle Resort is basically gonna be just like the Battle Maison. Shitty. And post-game may be not as good as we hoped. I really hate to be negative.

  17. Okay. Just needed to get the rage out on Mega Hoopa. I seriously hate it so much. And also, If the Battle Resort thing repeats the Battle Maison, I will rage so hard it won’t even be funny. They didn’t get it if they repeat that and just add all Legendaries from previous games that will only take an hour or two to catch for post-game. No post-game was the reason so many people HATED X and Y.

  18. I was looking so forward to discovering all this during my play through of the game. Then it just shows up and takes the wonder away from experiencing it first hand. I sad.

  19. I’m a bit disappointed at how some of you guys draw conclusions so easily.
    We don’t know for sure if the Battle Resort is even true.
    If it is, it may not be the only Battle location.
    And who gives a fuck about Mega Hoopa? There are tons of other Megas that are availbale in OR/AS; Hoopa isn’t the only one.
    So please, stick to the positive side of things. We’ve wanted remakes for 10 years, and we’ve gotten them. Now people are complaining. ;~;

Also, what were the new names listed around the E4 members as well as in general, anyone know? How many? If more than 4, than not a shitty Battle Maison repeat! 😀

  22. So, the Battle Resort is NOT a repeat of the Battle Maison.
    The names found in the coding: Lao, Kelvin, Carnation, Josephine, and Felix.

    Nothing that may truly spoil the game aka pictures.
    Are they still dumping text of character dialogue, area names, etc. or was it completely dumped?
    Just a question. Please don’t hurt me.

  28. My thoughts on Coil Milotic:
    Why? Other than boosted defense, I see no point using it. Not many moves are low accuracy that Milotic can learn, unless someone wants to run a Blizzard Milotic for some Oddish reason, but then again Wynaut? Audino if I Juan-a do that.

  41. So those supposed 5 Frontier Brain names, one of them repeats three times, another repeats four times, and another repeats 5 times. So basically, Battle Resort is gonna be just like the Battle Maison and a piece of shit. You have Single, Double, Super Single, Super Double, Triple, Super Triple, Rotation, and Super Rotation.

  42. You sure this isn’t the Battle Palace. Yes, I know that in Sydney’s trailer, the background was similar, but think about it. The features are the same.

    And if I recall correctly, the Gym Leader rooms were all indoors. This picture from one of the ORAS trailers… is not.

  44. Yep. I knew this was gonna be a disappointing night for many.

    KEY POINTS FROM TONIGHT SO FAR:
    >Battle Frontier not in the game
    >Battle Resort in coding but not sure what it does, probably a Battle Maison replacement.
    >5 names found in coding next to the Elite Four: Lao, Kelvin, Carnation, Josephine, and Felix.
    >5 names in coding next to Elite Four rumored to be Frontier Brains
    >Glacia, Drake, Tate & Liza, Winona, and Wallace all found as names in coding.
    >Egg Moves leaked
    >Tutor Moves leaked
    >Level up Moves leaked
    >May and Brendan’s names repeat 6 times in the coding, they had 5 battles in
    the original, sixth final battle possible to actually include final Evolution of starter
    >Wally’s name repeated too, rematches likely confirmed for him
    >Gym Leader names do not repeat. Several Trainer names repeat, so this goes as data for Gym Leaders not having rematches
    >Elite Four Trainer class data repeats 8 times, possible rematches
    >”Pass” item programmed
    >Could be for a ship or something and not the Frontier Pass
    >7 Mega Evolutions missing.
    >48 confirmed so far. These 7 will bring total to 55.

    This is a demo. A DEMO! Not the full game. They removed lots of stuff in the demo. There is more stuff in the game! Also. In this hoenn remake, were getting new megas, flying on pokemon, secret bases, contests, pokenav, and more. So dont complain because you think that one tiny itsy bitsy thing didnt make it into the DEMO.
    in fact, they probably left some stuff in there on purpose! Why they left the secret legendaries in with no update i reckon! We have 37 days before the full game comes out. With what we know, there is most likely some kind of battle frontier. Plus, they can always update. just keep in mind were getting a hoenn remake. Which people have wanted since HGSS!!!!!! WE DONT HAVE TO HAVE THESE EXTRA THINGS! GF IS BEING GENOROUS JUST WITH THESE NEW MEGAS!! AND ITS STILL A DEMO STOP JUDGING THE INCOMPLETE DEMO AND SAYING ITS THE WHOLE GAME

    sorry, im just sick of this. im not saying anymore on the subject

    See.. people love to use Pokemon based on stats instead of using Pokemon they genuinely like.

  49. I’ve come to my senses now. I’ve gotten time to regress and think about how much of a complete fucking asshole I was.

    There’s plenty of hope for the post-game. Data in coding repeats all over the place. Including Frontier Brain names in places where regular trainers are. Basically, the list is a complete mess and nothing concrete. 5 names on list at end rumored as Frontier Brains. 4 names for Battle Maison only. There’s still hope.

    I’m sorry for all the pain and anger I caused tonight. 🙁 Can we please turn over a new leaf? I am willing to do so, if you all are. I hate myself for all of this. This is just a demo dump. Nothing more to it than that.

    As one can tell by my profile picture.
    Seriously, so happy.
    I used one in a casual battle once and it survived a Mega Gengar’s Dazzling Gleam at a little lower than half HP with just 6 HP left. My Tyrantrum was not really EV invested or IV invested in Special Defense. The Mega Gengar may also not have been invested. But it has a high ass Special Attack. Can’t wait to transfer my Tyrantrum for X over to teach it Iron Head and give those Fairies hell!
    Mwahahahhahahahahahaha!

    We have learned SO much more about Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire and my Hype Meter has increased so much.
    I am positive that Gamefreak will produce a result that blows even the Genwunners away. Even without some key elements from Emerald, I’m positive that OR/AS will be the most amazing games in the Pokemon series.
    Sure, we’ve had some ups and downs today and some arguments, but everything is okay in the end. We are all a family- we fight, talk it out, and then become friends again. 🙂
    Here’s to a wonderful 37 days before the release of OR/AS. 🙂

  57. I’ve come to the decision that the battle resort will be nothing like the battle Maison. The leaders do not follow a specific theme, they are not all of the same gender, and there are 5. I’m hoping for really colorful facilities, to match the overall feel of a resort

    Reply
    • Kelvin and Carnation make me hope that the facilities are oriented around types. Fire for Kelvin and grass for Carnation

      Reply
    • There’s 5. And not only that, they repeat in the regular trainer’s names section too. Basically, the whole dump is a complete mess. Very unorganized. Because its, well, a dump. Gym Leader names could also be repeated and I just may not have seen it. And it doesn’t mean they won’t be rematchable either.

      Reply
  58. So, basically, the whole dump thing is a mess. Several trainer names repeat all over the place in random spots, including the supposed 5 Brains. Gym Leader names don’t repeat from what I saw but that doesn’t mean rematches with them won’t be back. They could also repeat somewhere else. It was a hell of a dump, no concrete evidence to say, “Yeah, these are the Frontier Brains for the new facility!” or stuff like that. They’re just there and assumed to be them because the names were next to the E4 but I think they are highly likely to be. Bottom line: it’s fun and hell to speculate. It really is. As was seen with me earlier tonight. xD

  61. Today was one hell of a day. I’m sorry again for becoming that monster and those of you that had to witness that horrible behavior of mine. I am 21 years old and this is not how a 21 year old should act! Basically, bottom line, this is all data that is in the game, but nothing concrete, just speculation at this time. Battle Resort, there, sure, probably the facility of the game, but the Frontier Brains unclear because the dump was so unorganized with the names and all that. We likely won’t be getting much more either. It’s just a demo version. And they wiped most of the data clean.

  62. I guess I’m really late, but I’d like to know something. Let’s suppose there’s a Battle Frontier/Resort, then why was that Megagross in the ORAS trailer fighting in Battle Maison-Chateu (not quite sure really) Don’t get me wrong, I hate that part, but I’m kinda worried.

  85. So, was there any more data leaked in the coding? Such as Gym Leader Rematch teams? Or no? I heard from Heavy that the game’s demo contains stuff from an early build, so it’s not all of the game’s data apparently, which could be why rematches are not programmed. It’ll be interesting to see how that pans out.

  86. The thing on Wallace’s left arm kinda looks like a Mega Bangle, similar to what Brendan and May use. Also, there’s no Key Stone accessories shown on Glacia and Drake at least in ther artwork we have now. Phoebe could have a Key Stone embedded in her leg braclet and Sidney in that little watch thing during the post-game arc (in his art, it’s just some kind of regular looking stone. (Refresh for image)

    It’s interesting that E4 has Megas in those rematches, yet no Key Stones on them.

Yet there was that rematch data for the Elite Four found in the coding of the games. I hope that doesn’t mean that they decided to change it at last minute and say: “No, let’s not give the E4 Megas or rematch teams.” But it is interesting to note that Wallace has a Trainer Class name called “Sootopolian” found in the coding, I think we’ll have rematches with him outside of the Gym.

  92. Bottom line, I just hope just because Key Stones aren’t on the Elite Four members in their artwork, doesn’t mean that the idea of them getting Mega Evolutions on rematch teams as well as doing rematches teams entirely were scrapped into development. But supposedly, they didn’t have Mega Evolutions in their teams in the coding when you first battled them, right?

    For Kyogre Surf is more reliable with 20 less power and it has Water Spout for much more immediate power.

    Reply
      • The reason I’m saying it is because running 2 ground or water moves becomes redundant so there will need to be some kind of risk assessment.

        I’m just happy Groudon can actually use Special moves now.

        Reply
    • Speaking in terms of doubles, probably a trade off between murky water and origin pulse when using PKyogre(and I GUESS surf). For PGroudon, a lot of legends levitate or have telepathy anyway, but the fact that you aren’t required to have telepathy/levitate opens more possibilities for teams imo.

      I’m saying this based on the judgement that it hits both opponents and not your teammate, I don’t think that has been confirmed yet.

      But, since it has a gimmick, I would guess that it would be a facility in the frontier, and from the fact that only 5 npc’s have been revealed, you can tell that it isn’t even near finished by the time of development that this demo takes place in.
      Calling it now.
      Battle resort will be in battle frontier.
      But if it isn’t, idc, GF will probably find a way to make battle resort awesome on its own.

    – spot that produces 100% horde encounters for every stat
    – exp all returns
    – southern island returns
    – Rayquaza can’t use Dragon Ascent as a regular Rayquaza. When you Mega Evolve you get the message “Anna/Brendan’s Fervent Wish has reached Rayquaza
    – Elite 4 Each Get Mega Evolutions Upon Rematching
    – Our Rival gets a fully evolved starter/mega
    – Wallace is 8th gym, Steven is Champion
    – Battle Resort replaces Battle Frontier
    – Cresselia found on Crescent Isle
    – 7 Mega Evolutions left, which brings total to 28 in ORAS. Matches 28 in XY.
    – Accelgor gets Water Shuriken, Cacturne gets Spiky Shield, Mismagius Mystical Fire
    – Rayquaza doesn’t learn Dragon’s Ascent by level up
    – Milotic got it’s first Fairy move.
    – Contact Lenses & Scuba Gear are in, no Trainer Customization
    – Shiny Charm is back

  131. Since the data mining of the ORAS demo shows stuff missing and apparently from an early build of the game, there’s still hope for Gym Leader rematches. I’m so happy that we got Elite Four and Wally rematches confirmed at least. It seems like they were planned very early on from the get go. Can not wait to fight the Hoenn Elite Four at the league and get upgraded teams just like old times. Unlike X and Y… as well as fight my bae Glacia. There seems to be a problem though. None of the Elite Four have any visible Key Stones on their person in the Sugimori artwork. Sidney has that watch thing but it’s just a plain stone embedded apparently (maybe he’ll get outfitted with one in the post-game. And Phoebe may have a Key Stone embedded in her leg anklet on the other side that we can’t see in the artwork. Bottom line, I just hope they didn’t scrap Elite Four rematches because the developers deemed it too hard.

Hmmm… since Steven and Wallace are at the end of the main trainer list together, something tells me you may battle them together in a double battle at the Battle Resort or something similar to Flint and Volkner. I only say this because Steven has that separate team with the upper Level 70’s alone in the data. And Wallace has his Champion team from Emerald in the data after defeating Steven the first time. Quite exciting! 😀

  137. I think @Afarr:disqus was right. Wallace’s Emerald team being in the coding probably confirms Gym Leader rematches (in fact, the team is the same but the levels are reduced slightly, Level 57 for his lead Milotic, instead of 58 and all Level 55 for the rest of his team instead of Level 56-57). And because this is an early build of the game that the demo is running off of apparently, Wallace was probably the first thing in mind as a Gym Leader to be programmed to have a Gym Leader rematch team. It’s happening! :O OMG!

    • Game Corner is not coming back. The whole reason it was taken out was because of complaints from little kiddies’ parents and a new European Union Law on gambling that took effect around 2009, which was during the time Platinum came out and this whole shit started. Game Freak didn’t want Europe to be duped in future games, so they removed the entire Game Corner system. Also, Mauville City on the new Hoenn map is completely rehauled, basically it’s Junichi Masuda giving the middle finger to those that wanted it. He’s destroyed all traces of the original Mauville City. It’s no more.

Often the adult antlion and dragonfly are confused with one another, and Flygon could draw inspiration from both. In fact, some species of dragonflies are commonly called “sand dragons”, which could account for Vibrava and Flygon’s type combination. In keeping with its Dragon type, it also possesses a dragon-like build and reptilian features such as its arms and tail.

Wii U: “Whether you’re creating stages on the GamePad, competing in challenges crafted by Master Hand and Crazy Hand, or outwitting your opponents in a brand new board game mode, there’s no doubt that the ultimate Smash Bros. game has arrived.” Basically, Stage Builder is back and there’s a new mode. And the “competing in challenges crafted by Master Hand and Crazy Hand” part is interesting. I think that the Tower of Smash leak may some credibility to it.

Just because they say some of the Legendaries are only on islands accessible via the sky, doesn’t mean that all of them will be. But because Manaphy has and likely always will be an event Legend, I doubt it. A sailor can dream though!

  177. Apparently there are 2 game’s left for XY.

    I said in 2016 we would probably get Kanto remakes. Kaphotics (the dumper of the demo) thinks the same thing.

    But these final 2 game’s could very well be based on zygarde.

    From the Dump:

    Demo’s game-origin value is 26, right after X/Y’s 24/25. Alpha Sapphire is 26, which is the demo’s base; Omega Ruby is 27. Only 2 more games can display a Pentagon on X/Y (28/29), subsequently numbered games will not. Who knows, maybe Red/Blue remakes like FRLG in 2016 for the 20th anniversary?

    Reply
  178. One has to remember…

    This is the first ever time that we hit a generation that already had a set of remakes in them.

    FR/LG came after R/S, and not D/P/.. so we should be seeing Kanto again before Sinnoh. FRLG are older games than D/P.

    Not only that but Kanto has been released on every single handheld so far

  180. I believe that we’ll see a return to Kalos but it won’t be in the way we expect it to be. It likely won’t be Z or X2/Y2. Perhaps a fully fleshed out direct sequel, like what happens right after the player becomes Champion storywise (since there was little to no post-game) and that you can transfer your Pokemon from X and Y to this game(s) similar to Memory Link from B2W2 and that if you don’t have XY, you can start off with a default team in the Level 60’s of sorts. And visit Southern Kalos. A lot of talk about that with the Volcanion event text dump and the description on Kiloude City’s map flavor text. Just theories here. Please don’t bash me.

  182. Basically, bottom line, we have absolutely no idea what Game Freak is gonna do after Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. None. We’re just along for the ride. But I must admit that so far, I’m enjoying it very much. Lots of new features such as Soar in ORAS that I did not expect from a remake. It almost feels like a new game. I know whatever Game Freak has planned in the future will be good and we’ll all enjoy speculating about it. 🙂

  183. Pokemon X and Y and ΩRuby and αSapphire are both based on letters from two different languages. Y’see, the Greek Alphabet has 24 letters. The english alphabet has 26 letters. Subtract 4 from 6 and you get 2. In Generation 2 there are 2 regions and one event legendary. (Celebi) Now, because X and Y also had 5 legendaries, 5 is an important number.

    Evolutions. I remember the day they were revealed. NO ONE. And I mean,
    no one expected them to happen. Not even Heavy forsaw it (to my knowledge). But that’s just my opinion. I think the Pokemon series will be around for a long
    time. Need not to worry. I believe that making all 719 Pokemon obtainable between X and Y and ORAS was a way of saying. “No more sixth generation. After this, we’re done.” I think the 7th Generation *might* feature a return to Kalos and perhaps take place in a region nearby Kalos because of that Zygarde data but the Strange Souvenir suggests otherwise. It’ll be interesting to see if Zygarde will ever get a Primal Reversion/Mega Evolution with those two moves Thousand Arrows and Thousand Waves or if they will go unused.

    But again, we’re just along for the ride. No idea what they’ll do. Just speculation.

I think the series will be going on as long it has major interest, keeps getting money, and the developers can be coming up with new concepts for it. And that Mega Evolution is just one of many major changes that we will see as Pokemon further evolves down the line. Soar, if it stays after ORAS, could also be another major stay. Same with riding Pokemon. But problem is, Game Freak has done features for just one game and removed them in the past before. I hope that riding and flying on your Pokemon becomes more expanded and evolved by Generation 7 and is here to stay.

    First of all, it’s not insulting to say that it sucks, because it truly does. Unfortunately, the people that hired did not stay true to their word that they would write for the site. That’s something that my staff and myself will discuss; it does not need to be taken publicly.
    Second, for people accusing the staff of promoting the website, all I’m going to say is that I won’t do anything differently and nor will my staff unless a PJN staff member requests so. You can’t telll me that you don’t advertise your stuff, so if you’re guilty of it yourself, don’t make others stop too.
    If you have any concerns or suggestions about my website, PM me. Fridays are my lazy days, so I’m not always on when I get home from school.
    Ultimately, if the staff decides that the site is just failing from all perspectives, I will take the courtesy of shutting it down so we don’t have drama, arguments, and as many broken friendships.

    I believe that there will be six of them. Primal Ho-Oh, Primal Lugia, Primal Dialga, Primal Palkia, Primal Reshiram and Primal Zekrom.
    The reason I believe this is because of all the legendary Pokemon, they chose those six to represent the Mirage Spots.

    People often confuse sirens with mermaids and that’s why in todays society, a siren would make you think of a mermaid, making Milotic a water type. Based on an actual siren, it would look different and probably be Water/Flying (I think it’s quite interesting)

    I think there will be one for the weaker Ubers Pokemon like Aegislash, Mawile, and Kangaskhan, and add some stronger OU Pokemon such as Greninja, Talonflame, Wash Rotom, and Gengar. Also they should add some of the new megas that are stronger. (Swampert, Lopunny, Salamence, Beedrill) I propose they call the tier AU. (Always Used)
    Ubers will be reserved for stronger Pokemon such as the Mega Mewtwos, Mega Rayquaza, the Primal Reversions, Xerneas, Ho-oh, Lugia, The Giratinas, Darkrai, etc. Next, have a tier is for Pokemon in BL and the stronger OU and weaker UU, and especially ALL OF BL. (Pokemon like Volcarona, Victini, Zygarde, Weavile, etc. (Pokemon that are too strong for UU and too weak for OU)) BL is getting so large it can almost be a playable tier. Call the tier something like SU. (sometimes used)
    If smogon does this right, ORAS will be balanced in with competitive perfectly.

    Seeing that the supposed new “frontier brains” (or whatever the battle resort peoples are called) pokemon have ivs of 20 each, the same amount as end-game Wally & your rivals’ pokemon, or lower dissapoints me :c (the E4 have 25 per pokemon & Steven has 30 per pokemon)

  243. So what’s this info on the Battle Frontier/ Battle Resort thing? I’ve heard fragments of stuff just scanning the comments section but I’m not quite sure I’m up to date on everything.

  244. regi and I aren’t happy with the way Gym Leaders are being handled by GameFreak, so we think they all should be fired and we should be in charge of decisions over at that lazy company we still love and adore. Here’s what the Gym Leaders should be like:

    1) Roxanne: We focused solely on basic stage Pokemon, to give you a challenge. And because of that, she has 6 Pokemon. She has Lileep with Storm Drain, Anorith, Shuckle, Aron, Carbink, and Nosepass.

    2) Brawly: We figured trainers would gain a lot of experience after that battle, so we trimmed down the Pokemon Brawly has from 6 to 3, but gave him Hariyama, Medicham and Breloom.

    3) Wattson is a happy guy. And happy people have happy Pokemon. That’s why he starts off with Plusle and Minun. But it’s no laughing matter once the battle gets serious, because he has Manectric, Magnezone, and Lanturn.

    4) Flannery: She’ll be a typical Fire team, leading with Drought Ninetales. She also has Torkoal, Blaziken, Houndoom, Camerupt, and Protean Choice Specs Greninja that spams HP Fire.

    5) Norman is your father, and as such he needs to present a real challenge. Original idea was 6 Slaking with Retaliate, but Protect stall would make this way too easy. So instead he now has 3 Slaking, Eviolite Porygon 2, Snorlax, and Blissey.

    6) Winona: Flying types are a bitch to deal with, so we’re giving her all the bitch Pokemon. Sigilyph, Gliscor, Skarmory, Gyarados, Gale Wings Talonflame, and my baby Altaria <3 Altaria isn't a bitch btw

    7) Tate&Liza: We believe in symmetry, so we gave them symmetry. Gallade, Gardevoir, Slowbro, Slowking, and Solrock and Lunaton as their final two Pokemon are also 10 levels higher.

    8) Juan: Rotom-W, Milotic, Swampert, Ludicolo, Tentacruel, and Kingdra. Nothing flashy, just straight up a great Water team ready to kick your ass.

  246. Guys maybe those newly discovered “frontier brains” aren’t frontier brains at all. Maybe they’re the elite 4 and champion for Z/next region. Maybe they show up in this game? Because there’s one that has dragon types and also one named “Kelvin” which would imply he specializes in fire types. Frontier Brains don’t specialize in a certain type so I feel they can’t be them. Thoughts?

  247. I’m mad M Swampert only has 70 Speed, because Swift Swim only boosts it up to 140 iirc, and M Sceptile’s is 145. This isn’t counting IV’s and EV’s and Abilities of course, but still, it needs to be able to outspeed M Scept. ;~;

  248. Beware spoilers

    I am so disappointed in Steven Stone’s final team:

    Champion Steven – 913
    ======
    Pokemon: 6
    Skarmory (Lv. 77) (Ability: Sturdy) (Moves: Toxic/Aerial Ace/Spikes/Steel Wing) IVs: All 30
    Claydol (Lv. 77) (Ability: Levitate) (Moves: Reflect/Light Screen/Extrasensory/Earth Power) IVs: All 30
    Carbink (Lv. 77) (Ability: Clear Body) (Moves: Moonblast/Power Gem/Psychic/Earth Power) IVs: All 30
    Aerodactyl (Lv. 77) (Ability: Pressure) (Moves: Rock Slide/Ice Fang/Thunder Fang/Fire Fang) IVs: All 30
    Aggron (Lv. 77) (Ability: Sturdy) (Moves: Stone Edge/Earthquake/Iron Tail/Dragon Claw) IVs: All 30
    Metagross (Lv. 79) @Metagrossite (Ability: Clear Body) (Moves: Bullet Punch/Zen Headbutt/Meteor Mash/Giga Impact) IVs: All 30

    Where’s the oomph? This isn’t intimidating at all 😐 Skarmory can have fun setting up Spikes, whoopdedoo. Claydol sets up screens and isn’t an offensive presence either. Carbink honestly is the biggest joke of all. It’s not even defensive. IT’S ALL OUT OFFENSE COMING OFF BASE 50 ATTACKS! WTF GF D: And then Mega Metagross with Giga Impact =/ I know exactly why they did that, to make it easier to take out. A free turn of attacking.

  250. What If….
    We think these games are too easy because we’re old enough to fully understand what’s going on? Thinking about it, 7 years ago I sucked at Pokemon compared to now, I had no idea what was going on and all the mechanics. Maybe the game hasn’t gotten easier, we’ve gotten better. Illuminati? Maybe. Probably.

  252. I’m honestly leading toward the notion of fake implanted data by GF or maybe the hackers are lying to piss people off. Why would there be data from the actual games in a completely fabricated demo? Because it was modeled off of it? I don’t understand coding so correct me if I’m wrong.

  253. I really like Wally’s team. His team is so OU lol.

    To prevent anyone who hasn’t seen it from being spoiled, I’ll use “BLANK”…

    But what’s up with the move pool of his BLANK (grass poke). I never seen a mixed attacking BLANK lol

  254. On the note of “Mega” Hoopa, it has already been proven to be a form which explains why it has the same ability. They have a video of it on Pokebeach but unfortunately the data for the name and appearance of the item isn’t there and an Unown replaces the image of Hoopa and it’s form. But on the note of the demo, I was playing and and a shining orb? popped out of the grass much like the pokemon shadow. Unfortunately I didn’t get to it as I was caught in a battle just as it appeared. I think that you see a shining orb if you have the chance to sneak up on a shiny Pokemon. Has anyone else seen this?

  255. I see below that people are criticizing ORAS for being too easy.
    first of all, why would you want the main game to be extremely challenging?
    I would like a touch of challenge, but enough easiness to make the adventure flow better.
    Too much challenge is not fun.
    Challenge is what online is for.
    Kids don’t HAVE to play online, but kids HAVE to play the main game.
    c wut im sayin?
    If they make it too challenging, upset soccer moms will call gamefreak complaining that little bobby can’t beat Pheobe :,(((((
    I think they did a perfect balance.
    Also, they made the rivals way more incorporated into this story, as well as adding a lot more post game and story content.
    This game Btfo’s anti-hoenners t the sun and back.
    ORAS will be better than R/S.

  256. I’ve been checking this out http://pastebin.com/zAtEmXZk and now I’ve been making some sets (most of the sets you already know) and they are (I’m not posting iv spread and EV training because you know what to do):

    Mega Lucario w/ Swords Dance, Ice Punch, Drain Punch and Bullet Punch;
    Mega Mewtwo X w/ Bulk Up/Poison Jab, Ice Punch/Thunder Punch/Fire Punch, Zen Headbutt and Drain Punch;
    Mega Gyarados w/ DDance, Waterfall, Crunch and Iron Head;
    Mega Scizor (the most notorious set) w/Swords Dance, Bug Bite, Bullet Punch and Knock Off;
    Mega Charizard X w/ DDance, ThunderPunch/EQ, Dragon Claw/Outrage and Flare Blitz/FIre Punch;
    Mega Pidgeot w/ Uproar (Normal-type STAB), Hurricane, Heat Wave and Roost/Defog (EM);
    Mega Beedrill w/ Swords Dance/Drill Run, Knock Off, Poison Jab and U-turn/X-scissor;
    Mega Gardevoir w/ Calm Mind, Hyper Voice, Psyshock, Thunderbolt/Shadow Ball;
    Mega Gallade w/ Swords Dance, Drain Punch, Psycho Cut/Zen Headbutt, Fire Punch/Thunder Punch/Ice Punch and Knock Off;
    Mega Metagross w/ Bullet Punch, Meteor Mash, Zen Headbutt and Ice Punch;
    Special Mega Garchomp (This one will not be as good as regular Physical Mega Garchomp but it will be fun to try out) w/ DPulse/Draco Meteor, Earth Power, Fire Blast and Surf;
    I am thinking of other sets for Mega Pokémon but the one I’m most hyped about is Mega Gyarados because it will have Crunch! Most of the sets are easy to think of and I think none of them are my own creation but I am just gathering information on what to do when ORAS comes out 😀 Any other sets you have in mind please write here and feel free to post if you think anything should be changed to make it better!

    • I like most of them. But I think this set is the best for Mega Metagross

      Hone Claws, Meteor Mash, Zen Headbut, Thunder Punch

      Also Uproar isn’t a great move for Mega Pidgeot since Hurricane will always be the better option. Having the same resists as Uproar but being more powerful.

      Beedrill will be incredibly difficult to set up a Swords Dance with considering how frail it is.

      Reply
      • That set you’ve made for Mega Metagross is really good! With Hone Claws you never have to worry about the chance of Meteor Mash and Zen Headbutt missing but I think that Ice Punch works better because of the weakness to Ground-type moves! And I had the same problem with Mega Beedrill, it can’t take hits!

        Reply
        • Thunder Punch allows the 2HKO on Skarmory, Slowbro and Mandibuzz. Which would otherwise wall it. Ice Punch can be used if Ground types such as Gliscor or Landorus are more troublesome for you. But one interesting thing is that with Metagross’ bulk it can actually live most EQs.

          Reply
    • Beedrill you just attack straight up. The only way you’d get a Swords Dance set up is if Absol is in. And after you Swords Dance, a hard counter will come in. Usually a Steel type.

      I don’t like Metagross’ set; that’s better for a Choice Band set than a Mega. As Chaos listed, one buff is good, but I prefer Agility/Rock Polish.

      Reply
      • Err…Beedrill dies straight up to Mega Absol.

        252 Atk Mega Absol Sucker Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Beedrill: 294-346 (108.4 – 127.6%) — guaranteed OHKO

        Unless you run sub

        As for Metagross it already has a good speed tier and just a little more power let’s it get the 2HKO on common thing go that usually wall it.

        Reply
          • I was about to say that. No need to give Beedrill a 252 on Speed since that won’t change many things. You need 1 turn in order to get faster in the second turn. Maybe Protection is a need for him, IDK.

          • Well that is true. I think (like Chansey/Blissey lol) piling up the Defense EV’s is the way to go with Beedrill. Maybe even go Impish! Protect is actually a great idea if not doing the Swords Dance. i forgot about the mega evo speed weirdness, so it can’t really attack turn 1.

    • Good good with Mega Metagross. I will take that. Pidgeot set is the same I made for him. Can you try for Mega Luponny Audino and Steelix? I will compare with mine.

      Reply
      • Mega Luponny is now one of my favourite Mega Evolutions! I’ll use it with Fake Out, Return, HJK and Thunder Punch because of the weakness to Flying-type weakness. I don’t know what to do with Mega Audino and Mega Steelix but I’ll think about that!

        Reply
    • Also, Mega Sceptile w/ Giga Drain/Energy Ball, DPulse, HP Rock (because of the weakness to Bug-type and Flying-type) and maybe Synthesis. I don’t want Leaf Storm because of the recoil!
