A user who used a hacking device to generate Latiosite & Latiasite has posted a video showing the Mega Evolutions in battle, as well as what their shiny forms look like. Unlike other Pokémon with Mega Evolutions, Latios & Latias share a single Mega evolution look, although their name allows you to see what Mega it is.

  4. Ahh… I also noticed those rumors were wrong. Looks like Mega Latias is still dragon/psychic with levitate and not dragon/fairy multiscale like they said. And shiny mega latias has blue eyes instead of keeping its yellow eyes like its regular form/regular mega did.

    Mega Latios is a Dragon/Psychic with Levitate with 80/130/100/160/120/110 for stats.

    Mega Latias Dragon/Psychic with Levitate with 80/100/120/140/150/110 for stats.

    Mixed Latios or is Soul Dew better so you can use a other mega like Zard Y/X. Hmmm.
    Latias will make the ultimate wall with that buffed up defence though

      • I know it’s the cool thing to hate on Smogon….but how exactly are you going to argue that these are incorrect. They are based off calculations from the stats show in the video.

        • How would they know for a fact that those are maxed? Especially without natures, IVs and Evs to all play into it. It’s too soon for Smogon to release their stat spreads on something that hasn’t even been released officially yet. I highly doubt it exact. It may be close, but until they have the Lati stones themselves I doubt they’ll figure it out for sure.

          • Ok maybe I should have said estimated stats I apologise if that wasn’t clear.
            However if I recall correctly this was how it was done back when x and y were first being leaked. No one complained then. And as it turned out the actual stats eventually calculated by Smogon and Serebii turned out to be pretty close. Of course these aren’t going to be 100% accurate just yet, but they do give a rough idea of what to expect.

            Sorry if seemed a bit defensive, I just don’t like all the hate on another site just for doing what they enjoy. I wouldn’t like people to talk bad about this site and I kind of expect the same here.

          • I’m not necessarily hating on them because I use some of the movesets with tweaks. However, the reason I don’t like smogon is because they make themselves to be bigger than what they are. Ban lists are made up of the number of bitches players have about a pokemon or strategy. It’s ruined online gameplay acquaintance wise usually. If I use something banned by smogon they usually rage quit. I find their meta game to be parasitic to the originality of a game that was supposed to be fun and strategic, not something based on what people bitch about.

          • I disagree. Theirs is the fairest metagame as far as I’m concerned. The only thing I agree with you about is the bitching of some people on there. But you’re entitled to your own opinion.
            However that wasn’t the case and point about my original post about the stats. As soon as you read the word ‘Smogon’ you dismissed the remainder of the post. That is what sort of ticked me off.

          • I still hate it. It is based off of peoples “bitching.” they see something they don’t want to face, they go to smogon with their hate and it get’s “banned.” not saying that’s their process, just saying it’s damn close.

          • You can use whatever he hell you like. I’ve beaten and lost to a fair share of Balzikens, Kangaskahns, Gengars and Lucario. What people need to understand is that Smogon is NOT law. As soon as people see this they may be able to let go of their ‘hate’. Why we get so worked up over games is beyond me anyway.

          • Exactly. The sooner the better. And I have no idea either. Though my guess is video games are sometimes the only escape we have from this hell we call life and we don’t like it messed with in anyway.

          • Eh, life for me right now is both heaven and a tormenting hell, and i do love strategy games and actions games equally. A friend and I are trying to get into more competitive battling but we’re honestly having a hard time with it haha. Most of the videos we try watching to get information use smogon for “classing” and “try to avoid what’s banned” so we just can’t find REAL info for it.

          • Nope. I read the remainder of the post. I would have questioned anyone who would have claimed to have the stats. The only reason why I brought up smogon is because that’s who found it. If Pokejungle would have found it I would’ve questioned it as well. The meta game isn’t fair unless you’re with a majority that goes by them.

          • I just figured it was common knowledge that this is how stats are worked out now the raw data cannot be extracted from the game carts of the 3DS. Oh well….my bad.

          • Yeah…if they would just take a few minutes (IF that) to actually look it up, they would see that there is almost nothing officially banned…well, compared to smogon of course.

  51. Quick Question before I get going again to study. What’s your opinion on using Legendaries in your Main Team (the one you use in the story, not competitively).

    Do you think it’s cheap, or doesn’t matter?

    With the minuscule Kalos Roster, I’m tempted to a Kalos Legendary since I’m not really interested in any other new Pokémon I haven’t used.

    • I don’t think it really matters. how you play is how you play so go for it. hell, i used Yveltal in Y, Kyoger in Sapphire, it really doesnt matter.

      • Alright then. I don’t use legendaries in my Main Story Team. But I want to now in the XY Sequels. Also, having a legendary on my team would make up for my having a non-fully evolved Pokémon.

I think it’s pretty cool even though their mega’s look the same it’s different than the others in a way that maybe it could be for a reason that Latias/Latios share similarities to each other or maybe its because their siblings, I actually thought their shiny forms would differ from each other xD

    • I was honestly hoping that they would. Sharing a mega was bit of a stretch (though I can see them sharing body type of course). But having the same coloring…that’s what really got me. Still love them though.

          I’ll admit i hacked in the past but it’s just so unfair that people have the nerve to cheat to win…

          I try to be fair but it seems everything is just becoming fruitless just to keep on fighting knowing that a majority isn’t playing fair…

          does that not mean anything?

          • Well considering that hacking for most people is just a time saver…yeah that’s really it. especially if you just don’t have the time to breed for ivs and nature which could take days at the most, then ev train, then level it up then teach it any moves it still needs. then you may find out that it doesn’t work for your team after all and you have to start all over again.

          • Well, there are people that just don’t have the time to do that. And even if I do make a pokemon, do you know how hard it is to make it read as legit? Though that’s not the case here. It’s still work. And who’s to say the bond isn’t there? i still love my second metagross and every other hacked one.

          • now who says i start them at level 100 and just go into battle? i take out the weeks of breeding. and this is starting to sound like an argument about raising children to me. another argument that’s pointless. you have your way and i have mine. the only hacking i have a problem with is unreal abilities, moves, types, and things like that. if it’s legit, it’s legit. that’s all that matters to me in that regard. i still love every single one.

          • so instead of taking what i want with a supposed crutch, i should sit and wait for someone (the chance factor in this) to come along and be charitable enough to decide to hand me even just one little perfect IV, then spend hours for another? you don’t progress if you sit on your ass waiting for things to just be handed to you.

          • i have many near perfect IV pokemon from wonder trade. hell i got a 5iv giratina from it. and again, about the ‘loving” them. what about those countless pokemon you hatch that don’t have the IV or nature you want? and you just release or WT them away? how do you think they feel? you’re literally looking into their newborn eyes and saying “you’re not good enough, get out.” and just send it on it’s way. and you call me heartless.

          • Every trainer loves their pokemon. I just wanted to see your reaction. I can’t usually bare the thought of getting rid of the other babies when i’m breeding for IVs or a shiny. Sure they’ll be out there helping others and that’s great. i hope I run into them again some day. And if you thought I didn’t love the pokemon I make, you’re mistaken too. I love every single one I have. Whether I caught, hatched, or made it. They’re all my pokemon and they’re all my family.

            a Hacked Pokemon is by clearest definition artificial
            you falsely made it have the exact stats you want it have
            While a correctly bred Pokemon will still have it’s own flaws
            And as for skill the bulk and firepower provided to a hacked Pokemon can even allow anyone without any form of skill to hold their own
            Therefore Hacked Pokemon is cheating

          • I faced someone that was using all hacked, shiny legendaries bred to OVER perfection. And I beat them with the most basic team you could think of. So yeah, hacked does not give the person an upper hand in battle.

          • My point is that I try insanely hard to raise and train the Best Pokemon I can
            And the thought of people just cheating their way to the top angers and upsets me deeply

  76. You can have the most OP pokemon but be so crappy you cant use it effectively. By Smogon standards Zangoose is NU. It has brilliant attack but goes down to pretty much any hit. it has 90 base speed so is below average but It has been a key player in many battles for me. Its not the weapon its the wielder.

  122. I think we have to be a lot stricter about talk about all those hacking/cheating devices. By being too lenient we give out the wrong message, letting the ‘bad’ thoughts being spread.

    It’s essentially the same as an economy forum talking about tax evasion. Yes, you profit from it. Yes, you don’t harm anyone with it. But once everyone starts doing it, the whole system falls apart. And that’s what you have now. The whole economy of Pokémon is already beyond repair. We’re all giving Gamefreak no choice but to lock down the next Pokémon games, all because we wanted free stuff without ever wanting to put effort into something.

    Watch out for a Daely Snack very soon. After I fix the mess that was the Art Contest article. It didn’t really help that I was sick and tired when writing it. 🙂

I understood your point about its not fair that you spent hours building your competitve team – when others just spent seconds Gen’ing theres… It’s not fair. But at the same time you have to remember that Ditto parent that you use for breeding was probably hacked as well. I’m glad that my Ditto parent is the sole one that exists, no1 has my RNG’d copy.

        • I saw that earlier… I was beginning to write that I sided with ya, but I had to leave to go to walmart. You aren’t the bad guy, ever, specially not here – and I do agree with most of what you were saying. I didn’t think hacking was going to come this gen – I hate it so much – first time I ever hacked was to get the HA starters… I stick to RNG, I don’t like anything that has to do with a device, I won’t take a chance in bricking my game.

          I love breeding and battling the right way. Hacking just defeats the purpose of the game really.

          • I agree with this. I have yet to use any sort of cheating device in Pokemon. I grew out of the whole cheating thing long ago (back when I still had my PS2), because I quickly came to realise that I wasn’t having fun playing games where I was invincible and could kill things in one hit. I know it’s a long stretch comparing that to Pokemon, but I feel it still applies.
            I really enjoy breeding and EV training this generation. And I fully expect Gamefreak to wise up and put a complete lock on future games if this continues.

            I’m sorry you were treated like the bad guy Earthern. Know that you have people who are still on your side.

    • I can tell that GF tried really hard to end this Hacking War. That explains why the Bank was delayed for 3000 years and why the default app is set at Update 1.1. I honestly thought that Gen VI would be the first hackless generation of all time, with just a few glitches (one of them being the infamous Cloning Glitch).

      I respect their admiration. I really do. And I’m sorry that I may have seemed like I was motivating the use of hacking. I didn’t mean it.

      • Even though its proven hackable now… It’s still easy to maintain legit pokes that you get in trades. As seeing that you can’t hack Pokemon to have the kalosian symbol in the summary, stick to only trading Pokemon with those and you’ll be safe.

  183. I understand why PJ wants us to stop spamming up the articles and stuff. If we get to a certain amount of comments, the article crashes which causes problems for PJ and the mods. The “Spam” we post, should at least be pokemon related. True spam would be something that is excessive such as VS’ posting of Spongebob and Sonic videos.

    • What we have been doing is not spam, as that would imply not contributing to the discussion. Everything we do or talk about is built upon the friendships that we have developed, and like you said, the amount of comments relating to the article are bound to be very small in quantity.

      • People tend to post personal issues because we are a strong and close community, a family. People post their problems here because they know that there’s people here who do in fact care about them and feel comfortable talking to them. This only happens every so often. Most things we post are Pokemon related and are attempted at making others laugh or sharing information, theories. He never stated that we cannot talk about things that are unrelated but that we should keep it limited. Repeating it again, the articles are great but there isn’t too much to talk about pertaining to the article.

Links, pics, etc. Just keep it pokemon related, keep all your thoughts as one single comment, and don’t post non-pokemon material and you’ll be fine. Stuff such as fan made games and other stuff is better placed at Mt. Moon. Oh, also don’t say “Off-topic” before an off topic comment, it’s not an exclusion to the rule. Remember, PJN isn’t what it is without the community interaction. He’s just trying to keep order.

    Now related to the article; although I’ve already heard and seen about M Latios and Latias, I really wish that they had different color schemes. It was great seeing them in live animations though.

    On-topic and article-related: “Wow! Mega Lati@s looks awesome! Can’t wait to use it!”
    Article-related: “Lati@s are my favorite legendaries”
    On-topic: “What legendaries do you guys want getting Mega evolutions?”
    Pokemon-related: “I wish (insert Pokemon here) gets a Mega”
    Sorta Pokemon-related: “Anyone wanna battle?” “Anyone have ??? that I can trade for?” etc.
    Pushing the border: “Hey! How is everyone? (insert then Pokemon-related subject)” or posting YouTube links with Pokemon-related things

    DON’T DO THIS:
    When people do multi-battles and POST EVERY SECOND! Keep it in one thread
    Have long talks about completely random subjects like how adorable that girl/guy at school is. Use chat if you can or keep it brief
    Post links to Spongebob or other non-Pokemon things
    Constant spam of pointless things

    Now, I am not PJ or speak for him or the rest of this community, but this is just how I view this whole thing. I can confidently say that PJ and the rest of the crew WANT us to stay and comment and becomes even closer as a community than we are, BUT they want to weed out the spam and other pointless things.

  240. Okay, I’m done for the night, maybe a few days, but I’ll be back. Sorry for attempting to clarify what PJ said. Didn’t think that following a new set of rules was that hard. You guys are all awesome, the reason why I come on a daily basis. Hopefully after the day passes everyone will be more calm and we can all forget. Is everyone still discussing this? :/ If we can’t be off topic, then we will have to stay on topic (which is impossible) or just not chat anymore after conversing about the same thing over and over again.     I understand where PJ is coming from we can get off topic he wasn’t saying that to be mean or to stop us from still communicating and neither are John and Chico they are trying to get everyone to understand not to stray too far from the main thing which is pokemon and do we really want to crash more articles? the Gym leaders/Mods can’t always make new ones and it’s probably not a good thing when it crashes for them so please understand that PJ did this for a good reason 🙂 Chico was trying to help out not make things worse,I understand you were feeling upset but take a minute and look at it from his perspective you have to admit thing’s were getting out of hand,Pokejungle is a family and you know when it comes to family you want to do what you think is best so everyone will be happy you may not be happy atm but one day you could be thinking these guys for what they were telling us 🙂 It’s up to us to make it easier on them so they don’t have to worry 🙂

    • Probably has something to do with it being more “human-like” than dragon-like.. It understands human speech, has that “sight see-ing” thing from the movie, can turn invisible… half Psychic… More bird-like. It just doesn’t look like a fire breathing dragon like Goodra or Hydreigon

    • From a competitive rather than story persepective, well I believe they have attacks expected of psychic types (minus the focus blast)…

      1. Psychic-types
      2. Shadow Ball
      3. Energy Ball, Grass Knot
      4. Thunderbolt

      + its typing gives some Dragon-type attacks but no Fairy-type attacks. (compare movelists of Gardevoir and Alakazam with the Latis and it should look similar).

      I think its type coverage is pretty good already. Ya just have to pick between Hidden Power Fire or Fighting/Bug to handle the Steel and Dark types respectively.

      • You’re right about that. I always thought they were more Psychic than Dragon anyway. I guess that makes sense. But I feel like they don’t take advantage of their Dragon typing.

  300. Example, if I traded you a regular magikarp and it matched your TSV, it will remain regular. But when you evolve it it will become a Shiny Gyarados because the game treats it as a different Pokemon completely – Shiny Value stays the same and is a new in Gen 6

      • Someone can have same SV as you with a diff OT. SV wasn’t in prev games it was first discovered in XY.

        That’s why if you decline an egg from the daycare, DONT TAKE A STEP, save the game, reset/turn back on, collect the next egg from daycare… if the egg is .. for example, a shiny magikarp, you can reset your game, change out your magikarp parent for a diff parent, collect the next egg, and the next egg will still be shiny. The game locks in your SV/next daycare Poke – and regardless if you changed the IV’s/OT’s of the parents.. it will still hatch shiny..

  308. Ooh, interesting. I guess this once and for all debunks the Dragon/Psychic + Adaptability Latios and Dragon/Fairy + Multiscale Latias rumors. I am a little disappointed that there’s no typing or ability change, but hey, they’re still pretty cool.
