The next expansion for the mobile game Pokémon TCG Pocket is called Deluxe Pack: Mega and will be released on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. PDT. It features cards introduced in expansions rom Mega Rising to Ruler of the Skies, including all Double Rare (♦♦♦♦) cards.
Each Deluxe Pack: Mega booster contains four cards, one of which is guaranteed to be a Pokémon ex. Fans who are missing ex cards in their collection from the sets that Deluxe Pack: Mega encompasses may want to consider trying their luck with the new expansion.
The expansion also includes parallel foil cards and cards that have received new artwork.
Card previews
Special Illustration Rares for Mega Altaria ex, Mega Charizard X ex and Mega Lucario ex.
Eevee and Fidough Illustration Rares can be seen above, along with a Copycat Special Illustration Rare.
Rare cards Roaring Moon and Chingling, as well as a Charmeleon Uncommon were also previewed.
New accessories
Deluxe Pack: Mega will also bring Mega Charizard X and Y-themed covers and backdrops for fans to use when showing off their digital card collection.
Upcoming game changes
The following updates to TCG Pocket will be coming in late October:
“Toward the end of October 2026, certain in-game features are being reworked to improve the player experience, so look forward to some big changes!
First, a community decks feature will be added that allows you to search for decks that other players have made public, which you can build if you own the cards.
While your current rental decks will be deleted, you’ll be able to rent decks with cards from the latest booster packs and use them an unlimited number of times in both solo and versus battles! Theme deck lists and deck missions will also be discontinued.
Additionally, step-up battles will be reworked into a new and exciting solo-battle system, where the difficulty increases as you progress through the stages. Following this update, the current step-up battles will no longer be available, and you won’t be able to obtain first-time rewards or battle tasks from them.
Finally, Release Celebration: Poké Gold deals will no longer be available with the start of this new series, so now is your last chance to purchase them in-game or through the official web store.”
New events
Players can look forward to the following events starting soon:
- Late September to early October: A mass outbreak event will bring parallel foil cards to rare picks and bonus picks! Event missions will also be available, allowing you to earn shop tickets for picking and collecting certain cards.
- Mid- to late October: Earn more rank points than usual during Ranked Match Season B4b SP. The win streak bonus has also been expanded to a maximum of ten consecutive wins, and you will not lose any rank points or drop down in rank when defeated, regardless of your rank. You can also complete solo battles to score B Series vol. 13 promo packs during the Mega Garchomp ex Drop Event and collect charming Charmander and Drampa cards during a wonder pick event.
