After being teased in June, the Ruler of the Skies expansion for mobile game Pokémon TCG Pocket has full revealed. It will release on Wednesday, July 29, at 8:00 p.m. CDT.
New features will also launch with the expansion; players will be able to share decks with QR codes, cards featured in multiple booster packs being registered in all relevant sets when pulled (retroactive for current collection) and a new type of pity to guarantee a ♦♦♦♦ or higher card when opening packs under certain conditions.

Three powerful Pokémon ex cards from Ruler of the Skies have been shown off ahead of its release: Mega Gallade ex, Mega Metagross ex and Mega Rayquaza ex.
Additionally, a Genesect Illustration Rare has been revealed alongside cards for Absol and Psyduck.
New Trainer Cards such as Rainbow Cave, Skyla and Wally will be coming as well.
New in-game cosmetics
Starting August 1, players will be able to get covers and backdrops featuring Mega Rayquaza.
Upcoming events
New events have also been previewed:
- Late July to Late October: Complete handy card collection missions to obtain Trainer cards that will support your deck strategies, including Leaf, Sabrina, and Red.
- Late July to Early August: Log in and battle to complete Summer Event Missions and earn booster packs and other helpful items.
- Early to mid-August: Take on other players in the Ruler of the Skies Emblem Event! You can earn emblems based on how many battles you win and complete missions to earn shinedust and other items. And during the Community Week event, you can trade and share cards to obtain trade hourglasses, special accessories, and other rewards.
- Mid- to late August: Complete solo battles to score B series vol. 11 promo packs during the Mega Houndoom ex Drop Event, and collect Pachirisu and Beldum cards during a wonder pick event. Plus, Deluxe Pack: ex booster packs will be returning, so you can continue to grow your collection.
