During last weekend’s GO Fest, players completed challenges in Pokémon GO to unlock upgraded events and those will bring Mega Starmie, Arrokuda and Cramorant to the game! In addition, details of the August Community Day have also been revealed.
Ultra Unlock: 10th Anniversary Edition event details
The Ultra Unlock: 10th Anniversary Edition event will take place in GO from Tuesday, July 21, at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, July 27, at 8:00 p.m. local time. First Partner Pokémon that may have a Special Background based on the in-game team your character has joined (Mystic, Valor or Instinct) will be spawning during specific times:
A 6x Catch XP bonus will be in effect for all Pokémon.

During this event, evolving a Starter Pokémon to its final evolution will result in the Pokémon learning a featured attack, either Frenzy Plant, Blast Burn or Hydro Cannon, depending on its type.

Gigantamax Rillaboom Max Battle Day details
Gigantamax Rillaboom Max Battle Day will be taking place on Saturday, August 1, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Besides being the first time players can encounter Shiny Gigantamax Rillaboom, the following bonuses will also be available to take advantage of:
- Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
- All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
- Power Spots will refresh more frequently
- Additional Power Spots will be active
- 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
- Up to three Special Trades for the day
- From July 31 at 5:00 p.m. to August 1 at 8:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), the daily Remote Raid limit will increase from 10 to 20
August 2026 Community Day event details
Nickit Community Day will be taking place in GO on Sunday, August 16, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. Players will be more likely to encounter Shiny Nickit and evolving it into Thievul will result in it learning the featured Charged Attack Icy Wind.
During the event, the following bonuses will be active:
- 3x Stardust for catching Pokémon.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- 2× chance for Trainers level 31 and up to receive Candy XL from catching Pokémon.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Take a few snapshots during Community Day for a surprise!
- Lure Modules will last for one hour and may attract the featured Pokémon.
- One additional Special Trade can be made for a maximum of two for the day.
- Trades will require 50% less Stardust.
- Event-themed Field Research may drop from Poké Stops.
Ultra Unlock: Water Festival event details
From Tuesday, August 18, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, August 24, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the Ultra Unlock: Water Festival will be taking place in Pokémon GO. It will introduce Arrokuda, Barraskewda and Cramorant into the game.
During the event, the following bonuses will be in effect:
- Rainy Lure Modules will attract Arrokuda.
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Ducklett and Shiny Dewpider.
- 2-4x XP for catching Pokémon (increases on later days of the event).
- 3-5× Stardust for catching Pokémon (increases on later days of the event).

Ultra Unlock: Starmie Super Mega Raid Day details
The Ultra Unlock: Starmie Super Mega Raid Day will mark the debut of Mega Starmie in Pokémon GO, a new Mega Evolution that was introduced in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. It will take place on August 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.
The following bonuses will be in effect for the event:
- An additional 5,000 XP from all raids.
- Increased chance to get Rare Candy XL from Raid Battles.
- Remote Raid Pass limit increased to 20 from Friday, August 21, at 2:00 p.m. to Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. PDT.
- Receive up to six free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs.
- Increased chance of encountering Shiny Starmie from Super Mega Raids.
- Starmie caught from Super Mega Raids will have Mega Level 1 unlocked.
