The Mega Evolution—Pitch Black expansion for the Pokémon TCG has been officially announced and it will be released on July 17, 2026!
It features Mega Evolved Pokémon from Pokémon Legends: Z-A and its DLC, including Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Zeraora ex, Mega Chandelure ex and Mega Excadrill ex. In total, the expansion features:
- Six Mega Evolution Pokémon ex
- Four Pokémon ex
- 11 illustration rare Pokémon
- 18 ultra rare Pokémon and Trainer cards
- Six special illustration rare Pokémon and Supporter cards

English Mega Darkrai ex and Mega Excadrill ex cards have been shown ahead of the Pitch Black expansion’s release.
Pitch Black TCG products
The booster packs for Mega Evolution—Pitch Black feature artwork of Mega Darkrai, Mega Chandelure, Mega Excadrill and Mega Zeraora. Each includes the standard 10 cards.
The Elite Trainer Box for the Pitch Black expansion include 9 booster packs, a Zarude Illustration Rare promo card and Darkrai-themed accessories. A Pokémon Center ETB will also be available and features 11 booster packs and an additional PC-branded Zarude card.
There will be a variety of booster blister packs that include an additional card or cards, and there’s also a Tepig coin fans can pick up!
There will also be a Pitch Black Build & Battle box, a Booster Bundle and Booster Box.
