Electric-types take center stage in upcoming Pokémon GO events

Two new events have been announced for Pokémon GO and fans of Electric-type Pokémon won’t want to miss them! Check out the details below.

Gigantamax Pikachu Max Battle Day details

The Gigantamax Pikachu Max Battle Day will take place in Pokémon GO on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time. It will be the first time players have the chance to get a Pikachu with the ability to Gigantamax into its unique appearance. These Pikachu will not be able to evolve.

During the event, the following bonuses will be active:

• Max Particle collection limit increased to 1,600
• All Power Spots will host Gigantamax Battles
• Power Spots will refresh more frequently
• Additional Power Spots will be active
• 8× Max Particles from Power Spots
• Up to three Special Trades for the day
• From March 27 at 5:00 p.m. to March 28 at 8:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −8), the daily Remote Raid limit will increase from 10 to 20
• 2× Max Particles from exploring (12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time)
• 1/4 Adventuring distance to receive Max Particles (12:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time)

A Shockingly Good Time event details

From Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, April 6, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. local time, the A Shockingly Good Time event will take place in GO. Certain Electric-type Pokémon will be spawning more often and Shiny Pikachu, Shiny Chinchou, and Shiny Dedenne are more likely to appear!

There will also be event-themed Field Research tasks to get from Poké Stops.
