Nintendo’s latest console, the Switch 2, is now available globally! It is the successor to the original Switch which launched in 2017 and offers upgraded performance, new Joy-Cons and other enhancements.
Owners of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet can enjoy upgraded visual performance and frame rates due to the new 4.0.0 update.
The update increases the number of Pokémon spawning in an area, cut down on load times and has received praise from video game journalists.
But fans don’t a Switch 2 to take advantage of the Porygon2 event currently underway in Scarlet and Violet that is a fun nod to the new console’s release.
While not available yet, Pokémon fans can also look forward to the GameCube titles Pokémon Colosseum and Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness coming as part of the Nintendo Switch Online game offerings later this year.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A will also be getting a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition release with enhancements that take advantage of the new console’s power.
