Two events are coming up in Pokémon GO, Powerful Potential and the Festival of Colors! Read the details below and get ready to take advantage of them.
Kubfu debuts in Powerful Potential event
From Wednesday, March 5, at 10 a.m. until Monday, March 10, at 8 p.m. local time, the Powerful Potential event will be taking place. Players can redeem a Special Research that awards an encounter with Kubfu. This Special Research will be available to claim until Tuesday, June 3, at 9:59 a.m. local time.
Expedient egg hatching
Shiny Charcadet will now be possible to encounter in GO and, during the event, has a chance of hatching from from 2 km, 5 km, 7 km and 10 km Eggs.
Eggs will have 1/2 Hatch Distance during the event, but completing a free Timed Research can increase the bonus to 1/4 Hatch Distance.

Players can pick up event-themed Field Research from spinning PokéStops. They can reward encounters with the following Pokémon when completed:

- Sinistea
Fuzzy Fighter Paid Special Research
As with many GO events, an optional paid component will be available. Among other things, the Fuzzy Fighter Special Research will award:
- One Incense
- Two Premium Battle Passes
- One Star Piece
- Encounters with Season-themed Pokémon
- A rare encounter with a Dynamax Kubfu
It will cost $8.00 USD or your local equivalent.

Colorful fun during the Festival of Colors
From Thursday, March 13, at 10 a.m. until Monday, March 17, at 8 p.m. local time, the Festival of Colors event will be taking place in Pokémon GO. During the event, there will be a colorful surprise around PokéStops.
For players in India, a branching Timed Research will be available and Kurta Pikachu will be appearing in One-Star raids!

Research
- Event-themed Field Research tasks can be picked up from PokéStops
- Free Timed Research can be claimed by logging in and expires at the end of the event
- A paid Timed Research ticket will also be available for purchase
Event bonuses
- Lure Modules activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Bruxish will appear more frequently when Trainers use Incense.
- Take a few snapshots each day of the event for a surprise! The Smeargle you encounter may be Shiny.
- Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for two hours.
