Shiny Rayquaza event and more coming to Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

Players will be able to battle and capture a Shiny Rayquaza in Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet in an upcoming Tera Raid battle event! Plus, there will be special in-game events leading up to its arrival. Check out the trailer and all the details below!

Shiny Rayquaza Tera Raid details

Shiny Rayquaza will be appearing in 5-Star Tera Raids from Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. PST to Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 3:59 p.m. PST. Players will be able to catch it once per save file.

The Rayquaza will have a Dragon Tera Type, so start preparing your strategies!

Simultaneous Mass Outbreak event

While Shiny Rayquaza is in Tera Raids, the following Mass Outbreaks will be appearing with a higher likelihood of players encountering the featured Pokémon in their Shiny forms:

  • Paldea: Cetoddle
  • Kitakami: Carbink
  • Blueberry Academy: Fraxure

In addition, Chansey will be appearing in Mass Outbreaks throughout Paldea so that trainers can defeat them and quickly level up their Pokémon!

Tera Raids and Mass Outbreaks leading up to the Rayquaza event

There are also going to be scheduled Tera Raids and Mass Outbreaks leading up to Rayquaza’s arrival!

Tera Raid battles

The following will be in 5-Star Tera Raids for a limited time:

  • Corviknight and Bellibolt from November 29 until December 5
  • Azumarill and Clodsire from December 6 until December 12
  • Annihilape and Kingambit from December 13 until December 19

Mass Outbreaks

The Mass Outbreak events will be featuring one Pokémon in a single region and those Pokémon have a greater chance to have a special Mark.

  • Tinkatink will be appearing in Paldea from November 29 until December 5 and has a higher likelihood of being caught with the Ferocious Mark
  • Wooper will be appearing in Kitakami from December 6 until December 12 and has a higher likelihood of being caught with the Absent-Minded Mark
  • Girafarig will be appearing in the Blueberry Academy from December 13 until December 19 and has a higher likelihood of being caught with the Intellectual Mark

Bonus Mystery Gifts

Players can use the following Mystery Gift codes to receive items in Scarlet and Violet:

  • C0SM1CST0NES to receive an Evolution Stone set containing a Sun Stone, Moon Stone, Shiny Stone, Dusk Stone and Dawn Stone
  • ELEMENTST0NES to receive a Fire Stone, Thunder Stone, Water Stone, Leaf Stone and Ice Stone
  • V1TAM1NS to receive two HP Up, Protein, Iron, Carbos, Calcium and Zinc
