I’m not even going to mark this as a rumor, you can consider these fanart–but that doesn’t mean we can’t have some fun discussing them and whether or not we like the direction they took the Galar starters in.
This anonymous artist has chosen to go in an interesting and vaguely unsettling direction for Grookey’s final evolution. Slenderman as a Pokémon almost. The thick stick it carries has also been whittled away to little more than a branch, something that doesn’t look like it would hold up well in battles.
The best thing about Scorbunny’s final evolution is the transformation from nose bandage to forehead shield/crest. Otherwise this was probably my least favorite of the three.
Finally we have Sobble’s evolutions, which take its head fin as inspiration for a flag motif. It also gets much more heavily armored than it is when it starts out. Some may not find such a weighty design appealing, but I found it interesting and would still be choosing Sobble as my starter if these were what were to be in store.
Now… what are your thoughts? Would you like to see Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble follow similar designs for their official evolutions? Or would you prefer something far from what we see above? Let us know in the comments!
