Genwunners rejoice, Kanto Region natives are taking over Pokémon GO!
[UPDATE] Surprise! Buddy distance has been cut in half for the duration of the event as well! Details for the special sale boxes are as follows:
- Special Box – Premium Raid Passes, 10 Pinap Berries, 4 Lure Modules | 480 Coins
- Great Box – 6 Incense, 6 Lucky Eggs, 12 Premium Raid Passes, 16 Pinap Berries | 780 Coins
- Ultra Box – 12 Lucky Eggs, 24 Premium Raid Passes, 14 Star Pieces, 10 Lure Modules | 1480 Coins
Starting later today, until April 17th, Kanto Pokémon such as Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, and Pikachu will spawn more than usual, and Snorlax and Aerodactyl will return as Raid Bosses! In addition, players can take advantage of the following bonuses:
- 2x Candy for Transferring Pokémon
- 2x Candy for each capture
- Special boxes on sale in the Shop
This event won’t excite most long term Pokémon GO players, as a hefty majority have already completed their Kanto Pokédex. However this event is most likely geared towards newer players who missed out on Generation I, and to help Trainers complete Professor Willow’s Research Tasks to find Mew!
