Rayquaza, Groudon & Kyogre Raids Coming (Back) to Pokémon GO

Pokémon GO players will have more opportunities to catch the mighty Rayquaza, as well as another shot at catching Groudon and Kyogre, in the latest event from Niantic.

Now is the time to test your strength! Legendary Pokémon Kyogre and Groudon return to Raid Battles alongside Rayquaza for a limited time. Now is an excellent chance to finally catch all three ancient Legendary Pokémon originally discovered in the Hoenn region!

Kyogre, Groudon, and Rayquaza each have their own strengths and weaknesses, so challenging all three will take skill! Power up your strongest Pokémon, grab your friends, and head to nearby Gyms for a chance to battle and catch them from February 23 until March 5.

We’re in for some legendary battles, and the overall result will be exciting! If Rayquaza is defeated more than Kyogre and Groudon combined, Pokémon that typically prefer windy weather (for example, Bagon) are more likely to hatch from Eggs from March 5 to March 16. If not, Pokémon that prefer sunny or rainy weather (like Trapinch or Lotad) are more likely to hatch.

These battles will be tough, so we have new special boxes debuting on February 24, containing Raid Passes to help you prepare. Visit the in-game store to find out more.

Are you ready to face off against Hoenn’s legendary trio?

  2. Does anyone follow that ProJared guy? I saw someone mention on twitter that he made a countdown to Pokemon Switch News and it landed us on the 27th. I’m still very doubtful anything will come, but supposedly he made a countdown in early 2017 to disprove Pokemon Stars and that landed on the day they announced USUM. I’m just curious where this supposed countdown is. I never got a reply from the person. I’m still VERY doubtful we’ll get anything at all, but I’m just curious.

  3. I’ll ask this here because I have no other frame of reference…do you think $150 is a lot to ask for this group of games in like new condition?
Super Mario 64, DK64, Diddy Kong Racing, Wave Race 64, Pilotwings 64, Cruis’n USA, some Scooby Doo crap.

    • well there’s seven games
if you think of it as like 21$ per game its not that bad

SM64, DK64, DKracing are extremely good games and would cost more individually

Also what the H man i thought you said you weren’t gonna spend any mo dough yo

      • You’re right, I did say that…good memory…but I’m not sure if I’m going to buy it yet. I’m just putting a cart together because I know I’ll want them eventually. Also, if I do end up buying it, it’s really not a big deal because I don’t spend my money on much other stuff. Game collection is probably going to become a hobby for me, as if it isn’t already.

  4. I just had the best idea for a mini-tourney!
It’s a baby cup where you can only use Pokemon that are the first in there evolution line
    Not including solo stage mons
I could run that one, any opinions?

  5. I can see it now: the footage starts with Ash and other characters battling, talking, and doing hero stuff for 30 seconds to a minute or something like that. Then at the end, they see a yellow blur speeding over the water. The camera zooms in and shows Zeraora’s face smirking before speeding off into the distance. Then, you see Lugia swimming in its direction matching its speed with pink and blue blurs popping in and out of the water. For only a moment, the camera shows these two blurs as being cute miniature Lugias with pink or blue glowing accents.
Zeraora confirmed. Lugia Dive and Lugia Soar confirmed. Diamond and Pearl remakes confirmed with pink and blue coloring. Pokemon Dive and Soar confirmed. Gen 8 confirmed. Everyone’s happy, popping champagne bottles and laughing gallantly. World leaders unite and bring about world peace within 24 hours.

    Then I wake up.

      • I also remember having dreams about Usum that were waaay to good to be true. Like Ub King and the Pokelympics

Also I had a dream recently about baby and a mega lugia being revealed as an event for a game called sky/soar too!

        • Whoa, did you really think about Soar as a name too? I just came up with it but Dive and Soar would be awesome names for new games. This must be fate speaking to us.

          • Well that morning I was thinking if the titles were sky and sea, then corocoro leaked and it came to me in a dream!

I’m not getting my hopes up again for anything Pokémon related for a while though..

    • Meh………..I think the most we can hope for is Zeraora. I don’t think you’re wrong about that first part. Some quick shots of Ash and maybe they bring back the 2 kids form the 1st movie. Then like you said a tease of Zeraora without actually fully showing it only to end with Lugia coming out of the sea to almost match that art we got this last week. Enough that it’ll be cool to see, but not enough to satisfy those that will riot when gen 8 is revealed to not be coming out this year lol

        • Why would they? Is it their fault that we ruin surprises like mythicals? Is it their responsibility to make sure there are replacements for said surprises if we find out? It’s not……it’s irrelevant that we know about Zeraora because that won’t change the fact that they have a plan and won’t change said plan just because we ruined the surprise. It’s kind of selfish for the fandom in general to expect them to do that.

  6. If you could have one old/ new mega/form Pokémon be the mascot for the next generation akin to mewtwo? What would it be? Also don’t say lugia cuz that’s prob gonna happen

Also, arn’t we not supposed to know about zera yet? GF must be pulling their hair out

  7. If Zeraora has Close Combat in the new movie, the Japanese dub better have it say oraoraoraoraoraoraoraoraora while using the move.

  8. Zeraora for smash

B: Plasma Fists (a Charged heavy attack)
Side: Wild Charge (a lunging attack)
Up: Quick Attack/Volt Switch (either Pika clone or he hurls a ball of sparks upward and it travels a short distance where you can chose to teleport to it)
Down: Quick Guard (Boring down counter attack)

Final Smash: Storm Strikes, a powerful series of electrified slashes and finishing off with its namesake Thunderclap

      • Not a total clone, I was considering ripping off Cloud and have down b be Charge where his next special did more damage based on levels of three

A very fast melee fighter with decent air game but a lack of punishing attacks that can turn the game

  10. Well very late crystal team update now that I got back to playing again. Have 7 badges but holding off on fighting team rocket until I catch my final member. Will sadly have to wait until I wake up since it only appears during the morning/day hopefully it won’t take too long. And my starter is finally fully evolved! Will be evolving poliwhirl fairly soon as well! Will post my next update once I catch my final member!

  12. First Dratini of the event and its shiny. On a bus and I click a Pokemon, it despawns on the overworked map but still goes into the battle and it’s shiny. Guess I’ll be getting my original favourite Pokemon (Dragonite) as a shiny and with Draco Meteor!

  13. Honestly, I’m just sick of shiny locks. When the Alola dex leaked I was looking forward to getting a shiny Lunala. But alas it’s shiny locked….

  14. Trying to decide if I want to go out looking for a shiny Dratini. I just went out earlier because I didn’t realize it hasn’t started yet……do I even bother now?

    • We could See Zeraora in the new Movie trailer that’s supposed to be on Oha Suta Tuesday. Other than that the countdown is really just to Pokemon day. People expecting gen 8 anything will be very disappointed.

      Reply
      • Cause you have inside informations from GF? Because it may not be probable but it is possible. For the last 5 years the first long trailer of the movies came out on the first Thursday of March. This time it’s on PokemonDay and both Pokemon and Nintendo are definitely hyping more then they did last year about Pokemon Day. Again, not probable but either impossible. It’s not like our lives won’t continue if they don’t announce gen 8 on the 27th, personally I hope that, if it’s not happening I’ll wait as I’ve always done. But you are a bit pessimistic…

        • Well…….I do actually have some inside info, but you’re free to doubt me if you want. Lol Not saying I don’t twant the game, just saying at this point 2018 isn’t likely. I’m placing my bets on early 2019

    • I was about to mention that. Not saying it will happen but we may get something that day. I don’t remember them hyping up Pokémon day like this last year.
