It’s been announced that the latest Pokémon games for the Nintendo 3DS, Pokémon Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, will be able to use the storage app Pokémon Bank at the end of November.
Currently you can import Pokémon from past games into your copy of Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, but it requires having a copy of either Pokémon Sun or Moon from which you need to import them first. Depositing Pokémon will also become much more seamless, especially with new Ultra Beasts that are not compatible with the first Gen VII games. Pokémon Bank requires a yearly subscription of $4.99 to hold your Pokémon and may delete them if your subscription lapses. Please be careful when using.
For those who already have a copy of Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon, remember to download the event Rockruff via Mystery Gift! The little guy comes at level 10, holding a Focus Band, with the moves Tackle, Bite, Happy Hour, Thunder Fang/Fire Fang (Ultra Moon/Ultra Sun respectively), and is currently the only way to obtain Lycanroc Dusk Form in game. In addition, a special 3DS Theme featuring Dusk Mane/Dawn Wings Necrozma, accompanied by the main background theme for Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, is now available in the Theme Shop!

I just bought the game and I’m depressed that I have to spend all of today in school. However, it DOES end at 2:15, so I get to play it for most of the evening/weekend. I went to the midnight release at GameStop and got BOTH because I pre-orded both. I’ve played a little bit, and I don’t care what anyone says about how it’s “practically the same game” because I’m already interested in the story, and I’m only just making my way to the Pokemon Center! Can’t wait to get more into the game!

Yeah I got ya. To be honest I don’t think I’m long for this place anyway. I’ve been here for almost 5 years (working through college for the most part) and now it’s time to move on. So far I have been enjoying the game, even though some bits are basically exactly like they were in SM. However, I didn’t have too high expectations so its all good. 😀
So far the totem stickers have been far better than Zygarde Cells, you can start collecting them without backtracking to a whole other island and they’re distributed in a far more creative way. They’re also not day night exclusive so are easier to keep a track of.

I’ve said it once but I’ll say it again, Totem Stickers are absolutely amazing compared to Zygarde Cells. I haven’t even left Melemele but I have 16/17 of the Melemele stickers, and the 17th can be obtained right after you get the fishing rod, meaning that you can polish off one island’s cells not even that far into the game.

Tbf it’s the smallest island, and because Akala has 33 stickers, if you collect all Melemele stickers and most Akala stickers you’d realistically have 50 stickers by the time you start Ula’ula.
Akala actually has no stickers that require something you don’t already have, so if you’re being observant whilst playing you can nab Totem Salazzle before you hop off to Aether Paradise the first time.
That is the plan for UM.
Important note for people seeking to use the following two totems, Kommo-o and Ribombee are post game.

They’re basically Sun and Moon but better. The beginning isn’t as much of a slog, the end portion of the game is way different in a better way. However, the middle feels almost exactly the same so far for me, besides some changes to trainer teams and totems which contribute to a harder game.
It honestly depends on how much you like SuMo. There’s a chance they can fix some of your issues but if you’re unsure if just hold off until you’re in a better position money wise or just don’t buy them. They’re better than SuMo, but overlap a lot.
Playing these games is like having two kidneys. You have both of them but you can live with only one. Thus, go sell one of your kidneys and buy the games. (The opinion of an uniformed individual who has yet to play USUM).

Aside from the ultra cool mission in protecting Hoenn from a falling asteroid during which you battle a friggin Deoxys in space, you also see the renaissance of Team aqua under Matt (in AS), learn about the lore behind Hoenn,the Draconids, Mega evolution, significant past events as well as talk about the great war/ultimate weapon.
You go back and forth around Hoenn, revisit team aquas base who aren’t dead.
Many characters get development or more screen time in Steven, his dad, evil team, Wallace etc
You have challenging battles in Wallace with his Emerald team IIRC, Zinnia and Deoxys.
All this topped off with the meteor show in Mossdeep.
And its as long as main game.

Well a – Attack nature is never going to be good for it as a more physically orientated Pokemon, but it does have a usable base 80 Sp.Attack. Ideally you’d have a mixed or fully physical one. But for in-game I doubt it matters too much.

They’re probably going to design it like a Colosseum game in terms of appearance and gameplay. I actually expect around 100 new Pokemon this time, because I just do 😛 For some reason, I visualize something like Persona 5 for visuals (but with the usual Pokemon childish flair). And I also think they’ll use HD Rumble for feeling attacks hitting your Pokemon!

I feel like they will split up the next two gens such that at the end of Gen 9 the last Pokémon in the deck is No. 999. Then Gen 10 will start with 1,000. It is because of this that I suspect that Regional variants will return in future games to compensate for the smaller amount of new Pokémon introduced in a new gen.

Based on both a Duck and Platypus yeah.
I have 3 theories, either:
– Pokemon R/B: A reset of the franchise with a new revisited story that would make more sense and connect all the dots, and a simpler metagame. They will introduce new Pokémon, but you won’t have to collect all 800+.
– Pokémon D/P remakes: Connecting Gen-4 dimensions concept with Sun and Moon ultra dimensions. I doubt this since they never released a remake on new consoles as first titles. They could come later though. They’ll introduce Sinnoh regional variants from Johto.
– Pokemon Stars / Gen-8: A new generation. It would be the shortest generation launch games since they didn’t have much time to develop them, but they will be extended with DLCs / updates. Gyms will be back, since trials are something specific to Alola.
If they announce something it would be February, March, May or for the E3 as latest…
I like all these ideas. The red and blue one the least personally. And I am personally think it’s gen 8. We will get gen 4 remakes later in gen 8 as well in my opinion

First it was my laptop then my iPad mini, then my phone AND NOW MY 3DS, it was fully charged I unplugged it to sit in the living room for maybe an hour maybe even less and it started to go red, then I closed it, turns blue and shows 3/4ths charge but quickly dropped down
I mean I’ve used this 3DS so very very very much ever since I got it but of all times for something to happen it chooses now

Replace the battery (Amazon for like 20 bucks) but research the right screwdriver to unscrew with (the set I got gave me a Screwdriver that doesn’t fit any type of screw had even my dad has ever seen) then to make extra sure. Keep it from other electrical appliances for a bit and don’t let it get knocked around in places like a car

What’s one big thing you guys want to see removed from, or added to, Pokémon?
I’m over battle gimmicks. They don’t change the in game battles in a super meaningful way besides changing difficulty, they take resources away from other areas (such as new Pokémon), and I’d rather just have a refined game with no gimmicks than a stake battle system with them.
Don’t get me wrong. I love Megas and Z-Moves from a narrative and competitive standpoint, but in game they screw balance and for marketing they’ll stale faster than new Pokémon reveals hype wise as gens continue to be made.
I feel like they could be balanced far better in an action rpg game or literally anything that isn’t turn based as long as it’s still a jrpg battle style

One thing I want added… Nothing except maybe Triple types (I had a scraped mechanic that all fully evolved Pokémon in my region had a secret energy beneath their exterior and when going to this one person you could sort of do a mega evolution thing to one and get a triple typed one, but you could always undo it and switch which one gets the third type
Ex. One was scheduled to be a Electric/Dark/Fighting type)

Mega Evolution is an amazing concept…. It just doesn’t work in Pokémon main games. It’s sad because nearly every spin off with Megas handles them better.

They should have and had them either be related, married or part of a special group of tutors with the various others like they do with other stuff. Though move reminder can still give very powerful moves early since some Lv 1 moves are actually ones you’d expect them to learn later.

I’ve decided I’m not using any Totems. I find it unfair to have something of that standard on an in game team, but that’s just me I won’t judge you for wanting to use one 🙂

Poison and Steel. Fairy is a defensive types and besides Tapu Lele and Xerneas all offensive fairies are only good because of ability or their other moves. Fairies lack physical defense and attack which are their major weakness
Resists any two of Ground, Flying and Water because they’re the most spammable offense types, Fairy now doesn’t resist Bug or they have a neutral resistance, and if Bug doesn’t resist Fairy then Grass should.
Light and Sound are never gonna happen because they’ve been divided across the types already and would require multiple Pokémon to change type from types that aren’t normal
Tbh the only new types I can see are gimmick types only used in boss fights (like a type that resists everything, a type that is super effective on everything, etc) or a Psychic/Cosmic split I don’t see happening because we’ve had Pokemon gyms and stuff based on cosmic stuff so it’d be weird to change
Turning some Normal types into Sound types would be simmilar to how some Normal types turned into Fairy types. A light type wouldn’t work, but I think Sound could easily.

Wounded and in pain He tried to use Dragonbreath one more time until Fearow turn the tables by using it against him with Mirror Move! The dragonic force bathed over Jangmo-o as he howled in pain
Weak afraid and overmatched, Jangmo-o shivered in fear until he dug deep inside himself and embraced the blow not with fear but with determination! In the maelstrom of the Dragonbreath Jangmo-o roared with power and began to evolve!!!
A blurred figure leaped up through the blast and attacked Fearow with a powerful Sky Uppercut and sending the Beak Pokemon flying in defeat!

Same problem with “it’s” in that sentence. “He” should not be capitalized in the third sentence, unless your Jangmo-o is now God. There should also be a comma in between pain and he. Also the expression is “turned the tables”, not “turn the tables”.
The third paragraph should start as “Weak, afraid, and overmatched…”. I feel like this sentence is also a little long and should split between fear and until. Though, you would probably have to rewrite the second sentence that you would form. You don’t need and in the last sentence unless you write it as “and sent”, but I would suggest writing “…Uppercut, sending…” instead.

Kommo-o should’ve been Steel/Dragon with Clanging Scales changed to being Steel type move. It basically releases a sound attack just like metal sound. Makes more sense since it’s like an armored dragon. I would’ve liked it more.

The Totem towered over Antheia, its shadow eclipsing the Floette’s small, fragile body. All appeared to be lost as the Floette’s flower laid ahead of her in the shadows, all her comrades fallen. The rain bored down like the pressure she and her trainer felt.
“Antheia! We’ve came too far to fail now! Let’s do it!” her trainer called, becoming increasingly worried.
But the Floette didn’t respond. She had given up. The Totem Araquanid and its ally Dewpider, although both heavily damaged, were closing in on her. The sticky webbing that clung to her slowed her movements. Her trainer sighed, closing his eyes before readying the Heal Ball to retrieve his inevitably fainted Pokémon.
The Totem was mere inches from Antheia, readying up an attack. However, something caught its attention. The golden flower laying at its feet. Smacking its head down into the shallows, the small blossom was sucked up into the Totem’s bubble.
And in that moment, as the ally Dewpider launched at her, Antheia released a gale of Fairy Wind. The ally was blown back, and Totem Araquanid launched another Bubble to cover it from a follow up attack.
The attack exploded towards Antheia, who was now surely a mere hit away from fainting.
The trainer smiled as he came up with a plan. “Antheia, get into Araquanid’s bubble, and grab your flower!’
Despite the absurd command, Antheia didn’t flinch. She needed that flower back at all costs. The totem flinched as the small fairy dived into its bubble, grabbing its property.
“Now, use Giga Drain!”
The flower shined with an intense mint colour, as it began siphoning energy from Araquanid. Small green orbs from Araquanid began to hit the flower, which then flowed into Antheia. Revitalised, she hopped off of Araquanid and landed in the shallows, absolutely soaked.
A mighty crash sounded as the Totem succumbed to its wounds. Antheia and her trainer celebrated, before turning to the ally which had taken the opportunity to use another Bubble attack.
The attack left Antheia in an vulnerable state, but her foe wasn’t in the best form itself.
The Dewpider showed visible panic as the yellow flowered Floette grinned at it. Her trainer shared this expression.
“You’re next.”

Paragraph 4 of your narrative (“The Totem…bubble.”) was hard for me to follow. I couldn’t visualize the first part of the fourth sentence. The second and third sentences could be better by combining them via a colon. Be careful of the repetition of launched in paragraph 5 and flinch in paragraph 8.

I look to see a small dirty figure limping towards me in the glow of the sunset, I run towards the creature to discover its a Rockruff in pain and alone it was a stray, it was starved and in serious need for aid. I rushed in and Nurse Joy was able to nurse it back to health
Afterwards as I look to the Sunset wondering what else lies beyond Melemele and look to my side to see the Rockruff sitting wagging its little tail at me. I pull an Orange Pokepuff out to feed it as it gratefully accepts it. I ask if it wants to come with me and it happily agrees and I pull out a Pokeball and it nuzzles the ball to get in. I look out to decide on its name and see some dust float by and remember it was covered in dust so I named it Dusty

Sunset shouldn’t be capitalized in the second paragraph. “Afterwards as” is awkward; use one or the other but not both. There should be a comma between sitting and wagging. Be careful with repetition of look throughout the narrative. The “seeing some dust float by” is so contrived it hurts — just have the main character remember the state the Rockruff was in because that’s what they want to base the name off of.

Honestly they could’ve avoided this third version trap of it being a bit too similar if they had just reordered a lot of the plot and had us take on the islands in a different order. That would’ve been so much cooler. I remember when a lot of us speculated that might happen based on the Z-ring. And that way it wouldn’t have made SM so obsolete because it’d be a different journey still.

I love how each totem is either easy or near impossible depending on your team. You’ll always get countered at some point unless you run something stupidly specific

What would you say the most improved Pokemon is by way of Alolan forms? In other words, which Pokemon benefited the most from getting a new form. So Pokemon that were already good (in all way generally) would not be most improved. An example of this would be Ninetales. I LOVE Alolan Ninetales, but From what I’ev seen normal Ninetales is already a decent battler and on top of that has a goo design. I’d say most improved would be the Rattata line. Idk exactly how good it is competitively, but it’s design and typing is SO much better than it’s normal form.

The most useless Alolan is probably Dugtrio.
I think I can agree with Dugtrio…..I wish they had done something that was……less goofy? It’s typing it fine, but nothing crazy either…

I guess its quite strong on a Sand Team thanks to Sand Force, but it doesn’t have the defining qualities of standard Dugtrio.
Muks Dark typing gave it a massive advantage over most really powerful psychic types and Marrowack’s Ghost/Fire and Lightening Rod was a god send against a lot of major threats at the start of the SuMo Metagame.

Meh, it’s not hand holding as it doesn’t prompt you the perfect time to use them, but it is a feature at your disposal that you can use well within the confines of the game.

If z-moves were locked out for totem battles I may agree, but whatever it doesn’t matter. I disagreed with people that Totems were difficult in SuMo and although I probably won’t be playing USUM anytime soon, I can deduce that i would be playing like Earthen and breeze through them.
Well yeah they’re going to be “easy” if you’re using super effective moves with base power of like 180…
Of the moves you have at that point they would probably be base 100-120.
But my point isn’t about how strong they are my point is that it’s a feature that’s available at your disposal if you want to use it. Locking out z-moves for Totems would have been a better way to increase overall difficult, cos that would be a game rule, not a self imposed rule.

Gumshoos Double Kicked it to death
Araquanid I was actually afraid but I pulled through

Underrated new feature that I love: the Rotom Dex telling you when you encounter a Pokemon it doesn’t currently have logged. That pleasantly surprised me.

In the same way shiny Pokemon sparkle to indicate that they’re special, the Pokedex makes a sound to indicate a Pokemon that can help you complete the Pokedex. It’s good for people who play Pokemon absentmindedly like me (for postgame that is).

It’s so weird playing at night and having it be day in the game. I Played Sun so I ever got to experience the 12 hour shift. It’s an odd thing given that every other game that has the day/night system just locks it to your actual time. It’s fun in a way too

Lv. 15 Pearl the Trumpbeak
Astolfo really pulled through in knocking both the Totem Raticate and the Ratatta it called. You could say we won because “ they were promptly disarmed by his voice”. Jokes aside. I think I am calling it a night here for the game as of now. I have other things that I need to do this break, but this game has been an enjoying ride so far with changes that are a little too few for my taste for what I was expecting. I will probably clock enough time tomorrow to at least get to the second trial.

Well I crushed Totem Mimikyu…literally…Mudsdale’s Heavy Slam is like….stupidly powerful, and with that I think it’s time I gave it a break, tomorrow I think I’ll be close to beating the game and thus focusing on end game criteria
