Rainbow Rocket Teased Ahead of Ultra Sun/Moon Reveal

New information about Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is just around the corner (just a day left!), but that doesn’t mean Pokémon doesn’t want to tease us fans a bit early! The official Japanese Twitter account has posted a teaser image of Team Rocket’s new rainbow(-licious?) look.

  1. So I imagine by them sowing us this public ally RR won’t be the only big thing they show. Would be a bit lame if they showed us something prior to the new trailer only to spoil the trailer’s content. We’ll prolly getting something else big too! Can’t wait!

  3. Throwback when SM was called Pokemon Niji instead. I wonder if they’re going to be post-game or in main store and if they’re in main story, hopefully they won’t replace Skull or clog up the story with so many evil teams x_x

    • Can you really call that tweet a hint? I feel like that was just him tweeting about an interesting set of life sized Pokemon. Sure they’ve done life sized Pokemon before, but never this many at once. It’s special because it’s a set. Not ruling out anything for USUM, but just saying there may not be anything of note.

      • Yes because he took a picture of all eeveeloutions except the original 3 Kanto ones.
        Why would he exclude Jolteon, Flareon and Vaporeon of all 8, a day before the trailer is going to drop?? Curious isn’t it?
        And we all know Kanto gets a lot love!

        • True……but idk. I suppose it could happen, but seeing that Eevee got a Z move in SM I wouldn’t hold my breath. That said a Z move that all the Eeveelutions could use could be pretty cool. Guess we’ll have to see.

          • Yup that’s what I mean a Z move for each 3 of them. With this being the final Hurrah for Alola and Gen 7 and the abundance of Z moves I think Z moves are a high probability.
            If they’re unique then I’d love it as I’m a big eeveelution fan!

        • I feel like we would have seen the eeveelution by now if there was a new one. The eevees are the most commonly used pokemon for marketing other than Pikachu and starters

          But then again the marketing department is brain dead this time around so who know

          • It’ll likely be a new Z move rather than a new Eeveelution altogether. New Eeveelutions usually only show up on even numbered gens anyway

          • I’m thinking we’ll see Z moves. One for Flareon, a Jolteon one and another for Vaporeon. Honestly I reallly think it will happen.

  5. This is more of a full-blown confirmation than a tease, but I’ll take it. I really hope there is more to the new trailer than just this, though. New Pokémon (Ultra Beasts) would be the most ideal to me, but I sort of doubt it.

    • I doubt they’ll only cover RR. If that was all the were gonna talk about then they prolly wouldn’t have teased the RR grunts like that and would have just stayed quiet. Makes no sense to hype up a trailer only to spoil the entire thing the day before with a single image.

    • The trailer will be mainly Rainbow Rocket but expect Mimikyu’s zmove finally beyond that eh not expecting much because other than stuff like this there isn’t anything left. No there isn’t any more ultra beasts so stop. No more new forms. We’re basically at release here.

  7. Huh…So that screen they showed to tease tomorrow must mean we double battle the RR grunts at some point. So there must be multiple points in which we battle low level grunts before taking on the leader/admins. Interesting. I really do wonder how much of a story RR has. If it’s main campaign then it’ll be substantial given they’d need to fit them into the general plot somehow. If it’s post game then who knows…….They have been making people believe that the post game is much bigger than SM’s . That combined with the main story being 2X the length of SM as well could mean these games are nice and long and will hold us over for a while.

    • Yes I feel exactly the same. These games are gonna have incredible length and detail. It’s perfect for GF to keep us busy so they can focus on switch properly rather than rushing it.
      I really hope the all evil teams post game plot is true!

  8. Anyone hear about the Pikachu Talk app announced today? You can “talk to Pikachu” through a Google Home or Echo device. I’m probably going to get a Google Home Max at some point, so this would be a neat thing. It’s coming in 2018 in America anyway, and that’s probably when I’m getting one. I’d rather get a PSVR this holiday season…which is oddly around the same price…

    • Battling all the evil team leaders in one game? The only way that this could work if either the story is a nonsensical mash up of evil teams or you travel battle them thanks to the Ultra Wormhole.

      ( Or maybe a PWT but with evil teams instead pls make it happen)

  13. First off, That art looks AMAZING good job on everyone who participated!! It’s too bad thats not the main article so people cant just look at it.
    Secondly, so we are getting rocket and other members. It would have been cool if someone else lead the evil teams, like someone new like the US recon team or something. Thatd be cool
    Third, Plumeria was suprisingly voted off! She had little previous signs of being voted next, but there she goes. She was a pretty cool character, I liked her. and her theme was pretty awesome, and she has a nice design too.

  17. Who suggested the Theory that all of Team Leaders’ Signature mons would get megas? I still think it’d Be cool but won’t happen. But if it did…

  18. The trailer is at 6AM PST right? If so, it’s going to be quite an early morning. At least I’ll be able to play some Odyssey before class.

    • Nintendo has just been godlike this year with Zelda and Mario (along with Splatoon, Arms, etc.), and now we’re getting a huge, culminating Pokémon game as well? It’s really incredible.

        • They sure want us to think that next year will be crazy as well, we will just need to wait and see. They have Fire Emblem, Kirby, Yoshi, and I think they said Metroid is next year (I dunno about that but eh). So it is looking decent already overall.

          • My pipe dream guesses for 2018: Gameboy Classic pre-E3, Nintendo QOL platform in June/July (new ways to have fun with Switch?) and Nintendo 64 Classic in the holidays.

          • Is Nintendo QoL even a thing like that has been going around for so long I don’t think it is even a thing. As for GB Classic I doubt it would be before E3 and if they did it I doubt they would also do the N64 Classic.
