Pokkén Tournament DX Demo Coming This Week! [UPD]

Following the announcement of the Pokkén Tournament DX demo at Worlds this weekend, it has now been confirmed that it will be coming to the European eShop this Thursday!

The full game is coming to the Nintendo Switch September 22nd – check out the latest trailer:

I know DX is essentially an enhanced version of Pokkén Tournament on the Wii U, but I really wish they added more fighters to the roster. :/ Because even though we’re getting 5 new fighters, really only one is t”ruly” new. Here’s hoping they add new fighters to the game similar to what ARMS is doing! haha

    Hella excited for Decidueye though – as I think most people are. haha

  3. And I’m kinda hoping that if they decide to add more characters in Pokken via DLC, Gallade and Greninja are part of those.

          • I meant Pokken. You’d rather have them, but objectivelly Inci fits better. Infernape would be cool, but Inci would be even better.

          • They both have potential in these games, I would just obviously prefer Infernape. I don’t see how Incineroar fits better.

          • Inci is perfect for a game like that, he could use diffrent wrestling moves etc. Also a fighting mayhem like that sounds like the natural einviroment for Incineroar, he’d be so happy beating the sh*t out of others.

          • He is a pokemon that you’d expect to see defending a sacred jungle temple. Inci is a pokemon you’d expect to see wrestling with machamp in a ring.

          • It is a scientific fact that Houndoom is superior to Incineroar. Numerous tests have been done. The science is settled. It is a fact. It’s on Houndoom’s bulbapedia page. “Houndoom is better than inci in every way”

            Even comparing them is honestly an insult to Houndoom. Houndoom is royalty while Inci is a mere peasant. You may like Inci, but saying it’s better than Houndoom is not only, wrong, it is insane and sinful.

          • I’d believe it if somebody told me you weren’t joking. Houndoom is cool, but it’s just a dog with bones on it. Incineroar is a destructive tiger wrestler designed to look like a heel. Comparasment of them sounds funny. Actually I think they’d be friends.

          • I do still kinda lament the fact Houndoom never got a Cerberus evolution, I can somewhat see why though. I think my only real problem with Houndoom is that it loses its’ ears.

          • But origns like that are pretty bland, houndoom is pretty bland. If you wanna compare something to Inci, it should be Mega Houndoom. And even mega houndoom isn’t as bada*s like Inci. I really like the Houndoom line, but Inci is just better. A tiger wrestler being a literal tiger is executed really well with inci and details added in his descriptions make him even better. Houndoom is cool, but it’s not that creative.

            Also is it badass or is it goofy? It can’t be both. Pick one. Because take a step back and look at Inci. They gave a cat muscles. That is the worst imagery on the planet. Inci is just disgusting. It doesn’t execute the idea well at all. Giving a cat head to a wtestler isn’t a good or creative idea.

            At least with Houndoom they had a cool idea and executed on it well.

          • It can. Just not at the same time. It’s executed just like it should be, the design isn’t pretty because you’re not supposed to like heels. The fact that you don’t like the design is just a sign that they did a good job with the design. Remember, he was designed by the same people that designed primarina. They took a pretty obscure idea and made it the best pokemon it could be. You just don’t want to see that.

            Houndoom is a common idea, there’s not much creativity in it. It’s executed well, but it could be less bland.

            Primarina at least looks appealing. They combined two things that actually work together. Sirens and Seels go together well because they are both… in the sea? Swole cats are just… gross.

            And again. A common idea executed well is better than a unique idea executed terribly

          • Pikachu counts, it’s moves are very wrestler like and even its final movement/smash/jutsu/whatever is wrestler af, and even if it’s a heel, it’s still a wrestler to many people

  9. That’s cool about it being available this weekend. Dont have a Switch yet, but for Pokemon fans who do have it, it should be great for them.

      But seriously half of these new characters either don’t make any sense (overwatch and undertale characters) or are pretty unknow (who the fuck is Bill?)

        • Eh, even if Nintendo had the rights of Undertale, I highly doubt any character from Under would appear, there has never been a smash character that originated from a Indie Game.

          But it’s a little more likely now considering the emphasis Nintendo is putting in Indie games lately

    • On the Pokemon side of this, I really would like Pokemon outside of Starters to get a chance to shine. I mean they’d probably have to be one of the more marketable ones like Mewtwo and Lucario are, but it’d be nice to have something else, much as I love most of the Starters.
      Also I wasn’t a huge fan of having non-Nintendo characters in Smash, most were DLC. I don’t recognise many of the characters here. However out of the non-Nintendo characters here I’d like: Crash, Bomberman and Vivi (not sure why that character over other FF characters but could be cool). Oh and I guess I’d be OK with Rayman.

        • The problem with having an ARMS character is that most of them have ridiculous reach. Also I feel the game is too recent, it needs to be its’ own thing for a while.

          • I don’t really know if it will ever. Maybe deluxe version for the next console, but that’d be long from now. I don’t think it was succesful enough to have a sequel.

          • Hm, then maybe it isn’t successful enough for Smash. Really though it comes down to characters they think will be good in the game. I’m not counting out the possibility.

  15. Final Fantasy XV coming to the Switch, how are they going to pull that off? Switch tech cant run a game like that, are they actually going to downgrade it graphically for the sake of extra sales? Shameless

    • Is it though? I think they just want to expand the fan base. Making it available on all consoles is good for everyone. The Switch can handle more than you think so the graphical changes won’t be much

      • I REALLY Hate XV… because Everyone Said it was so good and then I Got it for Christmas and played it for a few hours and Said DONE because I wasn’t having fun. I also got really confused because All I had heard/read about the story was gone because the last time I looked it up was stuff from the VsXIII->XV era before the giant ass rewrite. It also Had Shit-All Strategy with Weaknesses because THERE WERE 3 SPELLS WHICH WERE JUST SHITTY GRENADES. I liked the Tutorial, and I thought the 3 elements thing was weird at first but figured maybe combining elements made new ones… but no it was just shit.

        • I didn’t play it enough to have a real opinion but I was out in a few hours when I learned how shallow the Magic Crafting was… and all the Quests/Hunts which didn’t seem to be level/story-gated at all. and the fact All I knew about the story was apparently ReWritten out and I had already spoiled myself that EVERYONE FUCKING DIES AT THE END

    • That’s…….very surprising…..I have a launch Ps4 and even it starts getting a little loud when I played through. I can’t imaging it’ll look crazy great on the Switch. the Switch is great, but it’s still not a amazingly powerful system. I wonder what they’ll need to do to make it work.

          • Azkaban was fun for me(although I played it on GCN). Maybe it was Goblet… I think you can pinpoint the time EA began to descend into a Shitty Company because of the difference between Azkaban and Goblet.

          • It probably was. I really don’t remember, I was just so disappointed, especially because of how much I love the books and films, they are some of my favourite things.

  23. anyone here play the Telltale Sam and Max Games. IT’S BEEN 7 FUCKING YEARS TT MAKE ANOTHER SEASON ALREADY. I mean I am interested in Batman and GotG, but seriously. also maybe now that Homestar Runner is back(maybe) we can get SBCG4AP 2.
